I think, number one thing that will change anybody's life in the studio is Thomann.😀
FOR REAAAL
You are the most comforting person I’ve encountered in producer type channels. It’s an instinctive feeling of trust👍
Thank you for the kind words my friend ❤
One of my Life changer in my studio is…. YOUR UA-cam CHANNEL 😃😃 You have been answering so many questions in your videos , and inspired me to check out lots of new gear… so thanx man 👍👍👍
I love the "you get what you pay for" honesty with those little gadgets 😂
So true.
Hi Dom, your video is fantastic! Thank you so much for showcasing our Blackpanther Stands and trusting in our work. We're thrilled to be introduced to your amazing community! To the community here, if you have any questions about the Blackpanther system, feel free to ask here, and we'll be happy to respond!🖤
I bought a pastry brush for my synths/music gear :) Was only a few dollars, works perfectly.
I’m so glad I’m not the only producer obsessed with lights, hoovers and the neat little synth brush . . . Ooh it feels so soft
I’m on the same team like you ❤️
This may sound like nothing much but one of the best things I bought for my studio, going from a laptop to a desktop pc was the Nvidia Geforce GT 730 Graphics card with 4 HDMI sockets for 4 monitors. I now have 3 monitors for Cubase. From left to right I have 1. 27" monitor Cubase main GUI. 2. 27" monitor Cubase Console and 3. 24" monitor, I put my plugins for the project on that one. So, now I dont have to keep opening and closing windows and moving things around to get to what I want. I can see almost everything at a glance. And, if I want the piano roll or sample edit page etc on full screen I tap the expand button and it defaults to screen 2 leaving the main GUI and Plugin screen clear. Awesome. I also have a 4rth monitor 22"on a different pc far left for watching tutorials and tv.
Dom is th greatest guy on youtube hands down. Brilliant mind. Appreciate everything Dom 💪🏿🙏🏿
My life was changed with an Elgato StreamDeck XL, where all my keycommands are finally available with one button...awesome
Just pure genuine musical wisdom. Always a pleasure to watch your stuff Dom! I've been in need of something to properly clean my synths for so long and perhaps this will be it.
And the MultiDock is just absolutely genius!
I am so jealous of your accuracy and order. I would never could pull off a coffee mug on my table, especially with so many expensive gear.
Indeed, no drinks of any kind allowed in my studio.
Instead of one device into which you can insert 4 SSDs, we prefer to use several Synology NAS. We digitize old analogue recordings and need permanent access to huge amounts of data on 18 computers. And this also works with large sound libraries as a network device.
When I see Dom video, I already know Its great content, and it will increase my mood with his joy/positivity !
Room treatment, mogami cables, berklee online courses, Cranborne Audio 500 R8, Mac Studio M1, gamer chair, custom made desk, wheels in every studio furniture , Mastering course with Jonathan Wyner , sticker with number for my analog gear ,
Thank you for sharing!
+1 for wheels! Especially in small rooms.
This is one of the best videos you have made so far because the vibe is the most important thing to anyone visiting or working in a studio. I think you should share with us which Computer Monitor you are using, because this is the most looked at unit in any studio. Thank You.
I like the idea with the second small mobile screen for the metering! I guess it's connected via USB-C? So you need a hub for you Mac?
Yeah just a hub with hdmi connection or a hdmi to usb-c cable, I use a cheap 40 bucks screen from Aliexpress and works great. I mainly have Vocengo Span on it, really nice 👍🏼
I was speechless at what I saw in that studio. Congratulations, I think you're extra happy😮😮😮
Very interesting video but I didn't understand everything. Sometimes you talk about sound design but without examples.
I like the Blackmagic Multidock 10G.
On my studio's table, I stood up my audio interface (ZOOM R8) to have the same control as an airplane pilot in his cabin.
Yes, I can't wait to see your next video on your Mac Studio M2 Ultra !
Thanks Dom! Some really great stuff that is useful. 👍
I think the number one thing that will change anybody's life in the studio is enough money to buy nearly any of those things. I'm not even poor, but I can't even consider over half of the items. I'm out of touch - I thought, hey, maybe I could pick up one of those analog patch bays... but nah, they're probably like $500 dollars, so it wouldn't be worth switching from patch cables.... Holy Moly! I was off by at least half an order of magnitude! Insane prices!
Awesome info thank you!
My goodness, you read my mind! Earlier today, I was looking up your setup trying to find out what desk you used.
Thanks very much for the video - extremely helpful as always.
Nice studio
Great list... ordered the brush :)
Great. Thanks for sharing
Cleaning Things Good Habit.
Nice list, if i win the lottery i'd consider buying somne of this stuff ^^
Thank you Dom!
If there is such an opportunity, we would love to see a video where you talk about randomizing media positions (samples) right in the project window. I didn't find anything in macros and logical editor.. Thanks in advance!
Wonderful Video Dom ! Thanks for sharing your insights about the Blackpanthersystem. I have two of them one for the studio and one for live! Love your channel - keep going 😍
Enjoyed the video, Dom. It's good to see you're using Mac now. Once you've had a Mac, you'll never go back...:)
For my EP-133 (KO-II) I found a vintage bomb shelter Classic antenna radio and they instantly fell in love with each other, got married, and went on an everlasting FM honeymoon
Thank You Dom.
Always enjoying your videos Dom. Please please bring the Mac Studio M2 Ultra video next 🙏🏻 ❤
Dom you got so much gear 😮
so many great ideas, thanks Dom!
You are great Dom! It's a pleasure see your videos!
Dom, this is a very useful list of well made products. Thanks for this!
I love the z-tone DI by IK multimedia, it’s great for recording guitar.
For me, it's the Kensington Slimblade Pro. I bought one because of your video and my wrist pain is almost completely gone after around two weeks working with the unit. The trackball feels so amazing and intuitive in Cubase but also for standard apps in Windows.
oh yes that desk!
A few little things that I really like in my studio are the rode adjustable mic arm stand, it's great for always having a mic nearby I can use in an instant, no time setting anything up, just move it into position, then when done move it straight out of the way. Game changer. Also silly little things like a headphones stand, just makes it feel/look nicer, and a pick/plectrum holder, I got one that's supposed to go around a mic stand but it fits on the edge of my rack unit stand and it's soooo handy
Good video Dom.. 👍
+1 for the Ember - enjoying it as I'm watching your video : )
Wow! Nimbot label maker is literally what i need right now!
thank you
Is good quality of coffee included?😉☕️
Included? No... good quality coffee is MANDATORY.
Hey Dom. Great content buddy as always. You have been a life changer for all in music production.
I also like to mention I like your jumper A LOT. Where can I get one. 🤔
Hi Dom! Can you share your Mac setup, like how you set up your storage etc.? I am thinking of switching to Mac after all these years. Great stuff as always!! Thank you so much for great content.
Informative and added that SS6 to my list.
Love that you had the vacuum cleaner as the first one! (friends always think I'm a clean freak just for that) I have one as well and I clean my desk fastidiously everyday with anti-germ wipes and the vacuum multiple times a day cos dust buildup esp on monitor screens are annoying!
Great list..I'm now getting the HOTO vacumn cleaner for father's day! I've also gone on the alert list for the synth brush, no one in the UK seems to have it in stock and the postage is £10 from EU suppliers. The thing that has helped me with failing eyesight in a darkish room is a head torch which I use when I have to fiddle with power, audio or MIDI cables on the floor and in dark corners.
Great video as always Dom (and it was great to see you at IMSTA Festa in London). My three MOTU 24IO sound racks changed my workflow. I have loads of hardware synths and, with 72 analogue ins and outs, they are now all available directly in Cubase (set up as external instruments) which meant I could get rid of my mixing desk.
I use the cranbourne as well. It does sound awesome and gives me more I/O via adat.
My levels coming out of isn’t balance for some reason and I have to compensate for it.
Desks with sit stand height adjustment is a good one for sliding keyboards underneath. Small form factor akai apk mini mk2, so useful for desk space saving. Arturia keystep 37 (sff after touch desk keyboard), Intech studio pf4 controller cheaper than monogram and better layout actually. Remote control photo lights.
Hi Dom
Great video with lots of inspiration. Thank you very much.
The audio flock patch bay looks very smart and useful, just a little pricey.
The coffee mug tipp makes me smile. (Better coffee, better mixing decisions, never thought of this this way.)
My additional gear tipp would be the Aston Microphones Halo Shadow for quick vocals recording right near the desk (works well for a not optimal treated room situations)
I miss one item on your end, you must have on the output side some gear to switch between different monitors and control the listening level with a knob. It would be interesting to learn how you deal with this.
SSD, Cofee, VacuumClener) nice
Hey Dom thanks again for your always interesting input and positive energy!
Could I ask you how happy you are with the FLOCK patch? I am very interested by this solution but read a lot of negative feedbacks on forums, commenting on noise issues for example.
The dangerous bus is less polyvalent but seems more reliable/doesn’t need software which is a plus.
Have a wonderful day 🌿🌿🌿
You forgot to mention your color changing t-shirt and more importantly how do you keep yourself happy and productive because without you, these equipments are nothing 😁
im so happy for ya that you enter the sudio and everything is just waitingfor you to work and you dont have to struggle with gear that you have to replug and waste precious time
dust is a problem that ruins your gear and specially guitars and keyboards that you ugghhh when you see the dust
👋 hi Dom...I want to buy Cranborne adat 500..I will wait for you when you make a video about all connections in cubase 13 pro..
Thanks for all your videos...very helpful 👍
09:27 - I remember seeing this back in your studio tour and bought one immediately. Couldn't recommend it enough (although horribly colour inaccurate). One big and one small monitor is the way to go for sure.
Dude, what camera is that? What crazy colours and skintone!😍
Hi Dom, I am a windows user, do you suggest me to move to macbook pro?
A wireless number keypad lets me map important DAW key commands and record from anywhere around the room.
The essentials of my bedroom studio is Mac mini M1, Quad Cortex, Ultrawide 34” LG screen, Logitech MX keys and mouse :)
I was surprised my ASRock Livemixer Intel 13900K Windows PC could also go down to a latency of 64ms with many tracks and fx running in realtime...(except with an incidental problem VSTi) In a second life I would copy your studio entirely 😊
Great vid Dom..but can you tell me what that tracksuit top your wearing is?that looks cool
With external library ssd though. You probably suffer special Character path problems between windows and mac though. Guarantee some libraries paths are being referenced to mac special characters which cannot be read by windows.
Thanks again Dom, all your videos are very very helpfull for me. I would like to know if there is a multidock like the 10g but for NVME (much faster than SATA).
Thank you for this information. Sort of a gear related questions... can Cubase use two sound cards at the same time??? Studio and Main outputs?
If you have a Mac then you can, you must make an Aggrigate Device in your audio midi setup. For pc I don’t know but check the web 😊
@@Studio22mix Thank you!
Question, Dom. Where did you get the desktop wood case for your TC Electronic controllers?
64 BUFFER !!! Surprised
Cool stuff. My only comment is that for dusting, I just use a paint brush. Obviously a clean, unused one. But it's what I've used for cleaning consoles and all sorts of gear for years and only use the microfiber clothes for things like the displays in gear or my computer monitors.
I have a paint brush too!
Nice video. Thanks for all the advice.
Can you - or anyone - also recommend a USB / hdmi docking station when you Connect a MacBook Pro to your home studio setup? You can of course use several small hubs but it doesnt look great and can get a bit in the way.
Fun video! QUESTION: If you had to do it again, would you get 1080p or 4K for the little monitor you bought?
Gread topic! I still have a question though. I realize that not many people cover power consumption. For example: do I need a power conditioner, am I overloading my outlet, noise filtering etc. I’d highly appreciate it if you could cover that. Or maybe you already did and I couldn’t find it. But I have some vintage gear that I want to protect from e.g. surges and voltage fluctuations. I’ve been looking all over the internet but I can’t seem to find a crystal clear answer.
Take a look at a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) APC has some good ones and also Trust and Cyberpower are really good. Some can compensate for under voltages, applies filters for clean power and have surge protection. These should do the job for you 😊
Do you recommend one? I’ve been looking for an online UPS but they are quite expensive
@@asbakmaaltijd6892 I can’t really recommend one because I build something similar myself with only filtering and power surge protection. I don’t need protection for under or over current because our net is pretty stable here.
@@asbakmaaltijd6892 Sorry, I can’t recommend one, I built one myself with filters and surge protector but I didn’t put in any under or over current regulators.
I´d add a stream deck/touch portal device, an essential device in my home studio to store many many shortcuts, imho
Waves plugins back in the day and maybe still now?
thank you Dom, you lead the way.
Could you let us know on the new mac video vs pc the benchmark you encountered ? the specs of your m2 ultra ( it can cost 2k to 10k depending on what you chose !) and if you made some tweaking on your mac ?
NICE!!! What audio interface do you use? :) RME?
I would give an arm and a leg for a successor of the Euphonix MC Transport…there are none like it for transport and the compability brickwall is coming…
Sorry master, but in the comments I will leave a thing that changed my life....I remember the first lesson with you in music technology....Thank you very much...!!!!
Buy it nice or buy it twice! Any other opinions on the actual vacuum function of the Hoto? I have a good dust blower but keen for a quality small studio vacuum.
p.s. MooseTags were the best tags I ever had, but sadly not available in Europe...
I’m about to buy a new Mac from my old 27 inch, looking at the M2 Ultra what spec did you get dom. I’m not sure if I should upgrade to a 6tb hard drive and 96gb.
What about latency when you use patch boxes?
How much is that little hoover? I have quite a few synths 😅
Stream Deck XL
Off topic but, is there midi preview in cubase?
for example, in studio one you can you select an instrument track and then double click a midi file in the browser and have it playback via the selected instrument track.
What are the specs of this Mac Studio M2 Ultra?
The Blackmagic Multidocks 10g use Thunderbolt 3 or 4, not USB. Right?
As a guitarist and composer, I’d have to say my Line6 Helix and Helix Native plugin. I use it all day every day, and I get great tones both studio and live.
By the way, are you still using an AXR4? I’ve been really tempted to switch from Apollo, for the integration with Cubase (after years, I still get confused with signal routing in Apollo software!) And do you rate the pres for important stuff?
Hi friend, I have a problem and I would like to ask your opinion, I use CUBASE 12 pro in wind 10, and when I make a project, I always save it as a backup, on a disk that is not the c (of the operating system) my The problem is that I use the most pro orchestral libraries, and every time I save projects, the c drive, gets fuller. I would like to ask you what the problem could be, it is strange because I am not saving my projects on my c drive where I have my operating system. (And where I have CUBASE installed) But every time I am running out of space, it seems that CUBASE is saving something on my c drive. I would love to know your opinion. Thank you very much and a big hug from the Canary Islands.
thanks constructive feedback: make chapters in the timeline for convenience pls :)
LABEL MAKER FYI: There is a NEWER model of that label maker that is markedly better than the previous version. This link is to the older model; but you can get to the new one from there. Just mentioning so no one misses it! :)
Ohhhhh nice! What’s new /better?
@@DomSigalas The company claims that the B18 update has better auto label detection, bluetooth connectivity tweaks, and updated printing speed enhancements. It seems that customer reviews tend to agree. I don't know. :)
@@michaelyolch79 Interesting! I will definitely check it out! Seems it supports ribbon tapes too. I have to admit though, I have had zero issues with my existing one, it's actually one of the most reliable BT devices ever, always connects perfectly ;)
tbh i don't want Doms Equipment anymore...now i want his blue sweater 🤔
Since you asked, there are tons of manufactures of smart bulbs and led-lights (as well as voltage sockets) that you can control from your phone. I'm in the process of incorporating them in my studio.
....my mastermind robert babicz (rob acid) changed much much more for me....
What are you talking about? Keyboard stands have legs, legs are sexy.. hence... 😂
That flock is nice. I am using a behringer x18 going into a mini pc running dante via software. That cost me €650. Low cost option for getting dante workflow. And you can easily expand without conflicts in your main workstation.
Still looking for an xlrcinch converter with a good price performance.
