The Trueno edition is so lame it's basically just a normal Halo white and track-bred red color with some black stickers here and there. Such a lame edition. At least this one is an exclusive unique green paint color, just like the orange on the 10th anniversary edition.
Toyota's website indicates deliveries happening after 11/17 into December. I don't know if they build the Hakone's all at once or if they roll them out over the year.
We had a blast in both around the track! But I prefer the GR Corolla since it has more power. 86 handles good. But it just doesn't how you back in the seat at all. Corolla handled amazing and was very quick! Would love a turbo 86
For the 2025 automatic, they said they adjusted the downshift turning so it allows more downshifts. I know the current version always denies downshifts above certain RPMs. Were there any autos to test this?
In a production model, I’d wait for the break in period, it’s probably only 500 miles though anyway. This is a preproduction model and that’s what we were given! So it was a car to be driven and used till it’s crushed!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed they are talking about the indicators going off automatically once the steering wheel returns to center after indicating, the previous years require you to manually return the stalk to turn off the indicators!
Yes. Most seem to be asking a bit higher. The worst I saw was 45k. Keep dreaming. I wouldn't pay over msrp in any case. You can get the same car for a discount by going with a Premium trim with performance pack. The green on this car is nowhere as nice as it should be. For proof check out the latest 911 GT3 video with the green car. OMG that's nice!
I had a dealership offer me a 5k markup but honestly you can find one msrp. I declined the 5k and they offered me msrp. But I went with another dealership who started at msrp. I did have to look farther than my local area to find that.
Is it still the same engine in partnership with Subaru? I heard they were replacing the engine with a Toyota rally engine that was used years back. Or is that for the 2026 model?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thank you! I hope so, but would you say the gr corolla engine can be considered very reliable or in this case more reliable than the Subaru Boxer 4?
For 2025 the differences in drive character have actually shrunk. Both cars have moved closer to each other in throttle feel and oversteer. The GR86's throttle is not quite as abrupt as it used to be and the Subie's is now sharper at least in sport mode. The BRZ is also easier to get the tail to step out but not quite as much as the 86. The best thing about the 86 is that you can spec the performance package on any trim and is a lot cheaper than the fairly equivalent BRZ Ts.
@bearclaw5115 interesting I'll keep that in mind, im actually looking to getting the 2025 Brz like next week but might hold off and check out the Gr86....I know it's superficial but I prefer the subi badge over the Toyota lol, but still I'll look into regardless. Thanks for the info
It's such a nice car but it's a shame. If you want a 4 cylinder sports car may as well get a mustang ecoboost high performance pack and get 100+ hp/tq out of the box and an all around better car for the same price if not less
Yeah the Mustang has more power. But this is way better handling. You just won't take the turns as quick or as flat compared to the 86. Power isn't everything

Well keep in mind it's N/A and a Boxer motor. That style of engine isn't as efficient as an inline 4. And not having a turbo means it doesn't have that extra free power to provide better efficiency or power

Always liked the classy take on the 86

Not that I could tell compared to my 2023, but maybe if they were driven back to back.
