Lock Tips: How to Open a 5 Digit Combination Bike Lock

These by bike locks have a weakness which allow them to be opened quite easily without a code. Once opened, you can easily set your own code. Obviously, we wouldn’t recommend you use these as your primary bike lock. The same method will usually work on four digit and three digit combination locks as well.

I have found the combination this way, BUT some locks are less sloppy and some show a 'click' on the opposite number, so there are many combinations to test.

you probably changed a number, starting from the outermost number look in it untill they are all open and it will work

I did this on my lock because I forgot the code. I realized instead of it opening on the code I had set it to, it opened on the opposite numbers!

This method doesn't work. Maybe if you've got an old, janky lock. Mine came this way from Colorway. The booklet set method didn't work & now I have an unusable lock

How do you close it

To close it, join the two ends together--then move the numbers, switching them around. That will lock it again. Hope that helps. Peace.
