Do you have sharp, stabbing, aching pain in your mid back? Do you feel like you strained a muscle? Does it hurt when you breathe, cough, sneeze, twist, bend, or extend? Chances are that if you have pain in your mid-back, it is actually a joint or rib☠️ that is shifted out of place or “locked up.” We have almost never seen a muscle strain in the mid back. 90% of the time, a rib or facet joint is shifted slightly out of place, causing guarding and inflammation in the mid back.
This lacrosse ball technique is meant to provide temporary relief for the pain in your mid back. It is not an “end all” exercise. Lie on a tennis ball🎾, lacrosse ball, or anything else you feel is effective, and work on gently pressing into the ball on either side of your spine while taking slow, deep breathes. Move the ball up/down after each breathe to release the muscles along the entire spine. Don’t just focus on the pain area.
A chiropractic adjustment can sometimes instantly “fix” this pain. Although, we look at the pain as a good thing… it tells you that you have an imbalance in your upper body. Usually, your shoulder blades do not function properly. Tomorrow, we will go over a LONG TERM fix for mid back pain… working those blades!!! Everyone who has a rib “pop out” does not have proper control of their scapulae… EVERY TIME! A Chiro adjustment can fix it, but the chances of it popping out again are HIGH unless you address the root cause of the issue… weakness.
Ribs are meant to move to help us breathe that means they are more flexible than most bone. The problem is that through improper

This just IMMEDIATELY relieved two years of deep breathing pain for me. I used a solid 2.5 inch glass ball on a slightly padded carpet. Just slowly rolled on the painful rib area for a few mins and really let it sink in. When i stood up and took a deep breathe the sharp pain was almost totally gone. THANK YOU.

I am scheduled to have an anti-inflammatory injection put into my scapulothoracic join to try to lower inflamation of the bursa and I just discovered this today are noticing a painful bony bump coming out of my back on the injured side and thought "what the heck is this bone" and figured out it was my rib! poking out of my back and causing a lot of pain and referred pain. after doing this stretch and a few others (releasing my QL muscle) my back pain went away. might have saved me from getting a needle, will keep this up for a few weeks and see if it solves my issue completely. Thanks MoveU!

Are there any ways to strengthen the area so it doesn’t chronically pop out? Or is it just something that has to be lived with?

I just found my spot with the ball but I havnt got it to pop back in yet... holy hell it hurts...like the sharpest knot ever....but I'm confident this method will help once I can reduce the tension in the muscles...
Anyway, I found my low back is pulling on my spine because it and mostly my hips are all messed up from ignorant negligence. Look up how to loosen hips and how to work on getting into lotus pose...I'm convinced they're linked. I think the only reason my rib is popped out right now is because I didn't know this stuff sooner than like a week ago..
Also hanging on a pull-up bar seems to help strengthen and stretch the rib cage. also one of those teeter hang up things are amazing and you can twist while you're upside down and that helps stretch and strengthen them as well.
Is also a free core exercise workout app called six pack in 30 days with different levels and I'm convinced that's all linked too.

@@consciousfreshness7677 I agree with what you wrote "I found my low back is pulling on my spine because it and mostly my hips are all messed up from ignorant negligence." I have low back issues I was born with. Now that I am older they are getting worse. I am convince the rib slipping has to do with my low back.

I was diagnosed with this dislocated rib that you mentioned. Tennis ball helps, but only momentarily. Any suggestion?

Okay answer me this, today I was getting up and we have this recliner chairs so I was pushing it back with my feet like normal to get up and all of a sudden I had this intense sharp pain in my chest...under my breasts I believe and I couldnt stand up, it was unbearable...I tried to walk up the stairs to get my mom and I was hunched over walking up the stairs...breathing hurt so bad I was laughing through the pain....I told my mom to hold the blanket I was carrying and then I stretched my back...by going backwards...yknow when you wake up in the morning and do that back stretch while yawning? Ya that motion...I did that and heard a pop... and suddenly I was better..so uh anyone got any ideas?
This has happened before but not as intense

It still sounds like a rib got out of place to me. I have had similar rib alignment problems caused from using my body that way also, and causing pain in my chest, under my pectoral muscles. If you got a stretch, and felt a pop, its more than likely you were just able to realign yourself which is really good! If its happened before, its possible that its more flexible than normal and prone to going out alignment. Hopefully this helps in some way!
