    Man i absolutely love these videos, the testing of drawdown, voltage drop and recovery is fascinating and very beneficial for myself and I am sure many others would concur, not to mention im just outright curious about power tools in general.... We really appreciate what TTC and you are doing with these tests/ all testing, if i wasn't a long time sub to both no doubt i would be one now. Thank you and keep up the great content! And I Am almost certain TTC is running husky ¼ to ½ adapters for testing.

      Exactly. Instead of pouch cells it just uses tabless cells. Not a Powerstack.

    This was a great video. I agree with you on the small power stack. I use the 1.7’s on my little monster DCF850 and that thing goes a long time on a charge. Plus, these tiny 1.7 put out the power and are so light that I can use my driver for long periods and in funky positions and overhead. That’s the beauty of the pouch and tab-less batteries, long run times, lower weight and less charge cycles. As I have commented before, I really appreciate your real work / world testing and your honest comments about how the tool works in these situations. Your videos, like TTC’s videos, become excellent resources to help all of us make informed decisions and in turn save us our hard earned cash!! Also, I think the boys over at TTC may have hurt their 5ah power stack with their “hammering” since you were able to get a good run on yours. But you know those boys, “the hold my beer and watch this crew”!! 😂😂😂😂 As always, an excellent video and keep up the awesome work!!

      My 8Ah PP gave up after 7 seconds in reverse. Last test. Did their 5Ah give up in forward or reverse? I never got to test my 5Ah PS in reverse due to the breakage of everything.

      @@WorkshopAddict TTC kept having the power stack cut out on them in reverse at the 8 second mark (around the 9:10 mark on their video). It might be something to do with that heavier draw you were seeing with the 860 in reverse. Would be interesting to see what the draw on your meter is in reverse and if your battery cuts out as well. That is if you could find a bit that the little maniac 860 doesn’t break!! 🤪🤣🤣. Thanks for being such a great resource for the entire power tool user community!!!

      My 8Ah PP cut out in reverse so I would guess my 5Ah PS would also. I can see if I can make a short with the 5Ah, but my adapters are not liking this.

      @@WorkshopAddictYeah, I feel bad for these poor 1/4” bits with all the power modern drills and impact drivers push now! 😂 Definitely save your equipment, I think we can pretty much infer what will happen. It is just so cool 😎 to have you and all the other UA-cam folks to draw great info from with all the great testing and reviews!! Thanks for the reply’s and have yourself a wonderful weekend!!

      I second that, the 850 is awesome! Pair mine with the 1.7ah packs too. The power to weight and run time are hard to beat 👍👍

    I have a dcf860 i converted to 3/8 drive because of ttc showing the higher reverse torque. I have a short demonstratiing it and also been using it daily and its definitely a beast. It feels stronger than the atomic and it may be able to beat the nee m12 stubby but idk. Im trying tp get ttc to test mine

      You think a 200 ft lb impact driver will beat a 550 ft lb impact wrench? Or did I read that wrong?

      @WorkshopAddict check my short out on my page removing a bolt that a dcf891 tightened to the max. Idk if you seen the stuff from the past with m18 gen 3 being converted beating everything at the time. Ttc included tested that. Your mainly limited due to that adapter. You get higher ipms of an impact driver combined with the capability of no adapter because of converted. The thing i would say is there is more heat tho with an impact driver converted compared to jus an impact wrench
      Also ttc has shown that the claims are much more honest on impact drivers compared to impact wrenches typically

    the reason you shouldnt use impact drivers is because you need to use an an adaptor, which will break and keep breaking like your first test
    i think you should switch to something like the 921 compact for future videos like these

    Now im INTERESTED if you can compare the 8 AMP FORGE BATTERY to the 8 AMP POWER PACK to see what battery RETAINS the most VOLTAGE i have been running both Batteries against each other and i think MILWAUKEE has BUILT the BETTER MOUSE TRAP im sure they both use the same 21700 tabless Cells just need to know

      If adapters were reliable, this would be easy. I can do it with a saw and see what battery holds more vs the speed of the cut. But I have to use a Milwaukee saw and Dewalt saw. I have not had good luck getting numbers from Frankenstein stuff.

      @@WorkshopAddict that would work I'm sure you would get a ton a VIEWS since the TABLESS CELLS are the next greatest thing and try the 6 AMP FORGE vs the 8 and 12 with what testing I have done the 12 Amp FORGE BATTERY puts out more power to certain Milwaukee tools

    The 8Ah XR with 10 21700s is pretty awesome, too. Would recommend picking one up to have your lineup more complete. I have half a dozen imported from the US since not available here.

      To be fair it looks like your 6Ah XR is 21700, and also that the 3Ah cells hit harder than the 4Ah cells, so probably similar to and slightly worse than then6 but woth 33% more runtime for the same size and weight.

    I honestly feel like the 9Ah Flexvolt, is the best battery Dewalt has ever made. I loved it so good I bought another. I use the DCF 961 and it'll go for a week or more, the 5Ah XR will give me a hard day, or two normal days. I work in a high flow automotive and tire shop. My right shoulder kind of hurts... 🤷‍♂️🤘🤣

    I prefer an impact which is stronger in reverse. Why isn’t it “what it should do?”
    In my mind it’s common sense to have more loosening power. Why should there be more tightening power? So you can strip good bolts while not removing stuck nuts? So you can put something on you can’t get off?
    More tightening power than loosening power sounds like a lose, lose, lose to me. But I don’t use impacts often and must be missing something?

      I can see that in an impact wrench. This is an impact driver. More used in construction with screws and small lags. You don't remove many. You put more in.

    If your going to drive lags a impact wrench is needed unless it's very small lags

    I am not sure voltage drop is a good measurement in this scenario. The voltage drop would be similar, within 1 or 2 volts for each battery. Slightly varying because of differences in the manufacturing processes on each individual cell in the battery, but still within the correct tolerance. A lowered voltage is the tool signaling to the battery to send more power. Basically send more amps to do more work. The higher amp batteries mean you will be able to run the tool for longer, unless of course it overheats and shuts off to protect itself.
    It might have been more useful to determine the amp usage of the tool, and use this to determine the exact amount of time each battery would power the tool. That way if you needed to use the tool for an hour or two, you would know which size battery you would need, or about how many amps combined you would need if you used multiple batteries. The kind of thing construction workers would learn with experience.
    The reason the bit snapped was because the metal was too thin which happens with stuck bolts. Instead of a 1/4" or 3/8" ratchet, consider a 1/2" ratchet. But neither impact drivers nor impact wrenches are the best tool for stuck bolts. You will want a breaker bar and some good old fashioned man power. If you break the 1/2" bit, you might have to order a specialty bit which comes in 3/4", 1" and above.

      ​@@WorkshopAddict Yea, it might be nice to know ahead of time what size batteries I would need to use my tools heavily. With my drill I know if I need to drill more than 10 or 20 screws, the 1.5ah battery aint gonna cut it. I am guessing 5ah could do 20+ screws with another 5ah or smaller on the backup just in case. With heavy usage I would guess the 8ah could work instead of two 5ah. But two batteries is usually better than one. If one dies you can still use the other one and recharge the first one. You dont have to sit around doing nothing waiting for it to recharge.

    This is a deconstruction tool for rusted lags and are use by demolition crews and DeWalts announcement about this tool clearly pointed this out and is reason the spring is angle for reverse not forward and only use for a high torque driver is demolition crews

    You do realize this is an 8ah power PACK, right? You kept calling it a powerstack.
    The 8sh powerpack is a tabless cell. Powerstack is pouch cells

      Think of it in terms of a percentage. That one volt is 6 to 8% better than the next battery. That is pretty big. When you really look at the operating range, it is even a larger percentage.

    Also, it’s called the Power Pack, not Stack. The 8Ah has tabless cylindrical cells, not pouch cells. The 1.7Ah and 5.0Ah are PowerSTACK because the pouch cells are STACKED. The 8Ah cylindrical cells are PACKED into 2 rows.
