It’s confirmed, fpt likes his own comments!!😮
It feels like Jon is having more fun with the news videos lately and the videos have had a different vibe since the Tim Cook doc and I’m all for it
His Tim Apple doc was quite good.
totally agree
Not enough dirty jokes imho
No it was because he has a different writer now
@@GH0STST4RSCR34Mits been brian for a while now that’s why its different…
I love the idea of people using iPods sometimes to disconnect from phone and I can’t wait for people to use phones to disconnect from their headset/ glasses
💀💀💀
Phones aren’t going anywhere. Until they shrink down the Vision Pro into the size of a contact lens 50 years from now, the smartphone will be sticking around.
You don’t say. Sit down
50 huh... someone sounds scared of change to me. Youd be stupid to underestimate the rate of progression of technology that much. Give it 10 years and the Vision and products alike will become normal over smartphones.
I dunno I think as long as they shrink it down to glasses that are regular sized not oversized clown glasses people will start shifting away from phones
I don't think it'll still go away
@@hankagura5355where’s the camera and battery gonna go in a contact lens? Use your baby brain for 1 second and you’ll realise why no device will replace a smartphone
Also just wanna say Jon, your videos are really becoming something else… I can see a clear pattern and idea where you’re taking the channel, and I love it.
appreciate you noticing ❤

Going to rewatch this video 10 years later with my apple sight 2 pro, and watch everything with depth
I feel like it's going to be at least a few decades before iPhones are "obsolete"
Yooo
imagine buying subscribers by purchasing a youtube account
@@LxfulNothing wrong with that. You don’t know why he did that. Either you’re purposely trying to be a arse, or you are very quick to assume and judge.
Few decades? Dude the technical progress in last 30 years was insane and it’s not going to stop.
That's why it's the "beginning of the end", supposedly. It ain't the end yet nowhere close.
Every Nokia and Sony phones used to come with dedicated shutter button during 2011, Nokia C6-00 I used to have got one of these 😊
Very good video. Your videos are becoming more and more developed in the type of content they present - and very well supported with its arguments I must say! Very good, very nice.
If Apple ever pretends to invent water this guy will probably tell us how super amazing it is.
Facts lol
🤡
I remember hearing somewhere (probably fuh pah tuh) that Steve tried to give us an iPad but only had the technology for an iPhone in 2007 so that's why he started there.
I agree with you Jon, Tim has a "vision" in mind (probably slim AR glasses) but does not have that technology available to him at the moment so he is starting with the Vision Pro. AR Glasses can 100% replace your phone. No more need to pic it up if notifications and the time show up actively in your vision through out the day. Who knows, maybe Tim is hoping he can get AR Contact lenses! That way people don't even know we are using them. How crazy would that be.
Slim AR glasses is every ones vision... Lol. It has been in sci-fi movies for decades now and no one has had the tech to do it. If the tech does does become available, everyone would do it. Apple doesn't build any tech, they just get from manufacturers and have it assembled by someone else. If the tech is available, other design companies would also get from manufacturers and have it assembled. Apple is a marketing company, not a tech company.
I think Tim wanted to cement his name with Apple by starting the headset because he will always be the CEO that brought it to market which is a pretty smart move
Anyone that has to wear glasses for vision correction can tell you that dealing with glasses is a PITA. No one that doesn’t have to, is going to want that hassle.
@@cypvh74 I wear glasses and I used to wear glasses as an accessory.
There is a huge sun glass market out there buddy, I invite you to go outside of your house and bear witness at how incorrect your statement is.
@@cypvh74not true, many prefer them over contacts. Many dont mind wearing them. Never bothered me too much even though i wear contacts now when i go outside. The question is always is there a significant upside to offset the inconvenience. And with good AR that isnt too bulky, absolutely. The way it is right now no, the equation is skewed, but likely soon enough.
Vision Pro is definitely Apple’s next focus. I whole heartedly agree it’ll eventually replace the iPhone. I work at one of the Apple Stores, and you should see how much pressure they’re putting on us to make sure we get even something as simple as verbage down to a science when talking about Vision Pro. It’s going to take a few iterations, much like it did for the Apple Watch to become mainstream, but I think the crux will be when they add cellular to the AVP
The way I see it, Apple vision will not be mass market until Apple releases the non-pro version of the product. That’s when Apple really thinks their AR headset will break into the mainstream
Big difference between wearing a watch on your wrist vs wearing a headset or glasses.
Not everyone wants to wear a headset or glasses out in public while walking on the sidewalk or going up or down the stairs to take a train or a bus, etc. There's no way glasses will replace a phone and I say that as someone who pre-ordered the Apple Vision Pro because I'm an enthusiast.
Average consumers are NOT.
When they make it as a glasses then yeah, bulky headset? Hell no.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M not now, but sometime in the future
@@a-don13 in 20 years time when technology ie transparent 8k screens you can see at very short distances and micro batteries with 8 hour battery life, when vision pro will basically be a Completely different product ! ie AR glasses as opposed to VR Goggles.
My boss at work will not be happy with my scuba diving goggles
This vid was such a roller coaster, it went from “new iPhone have new button” to “HUMANITY IS ENTERING A NEW ERA OF UNPARALLELED CONNECTIVITY”
It's not replacing the iPhone.
It's replacing the MacBook, iMac and iPad.
Jern casually filming himself pee 🤣🤣🤣 i love this channel!
I completely agree with Jon's stance. As an employee of Apple and watching the gradual changes, it could not be more evident what is going on. I remember when Apple said their vision was just a slab of glass in your hand and they slowly began altering the state of the phone to prepare everyone for it. Now with Vision Pro on the rise, we can now wear our Apple Watch, Mac, and iPhone on our heads. In 10 years I can totally see something the size of glasses or even contacts replacing what we currently have. Even if parts of the hardware are contained in something pocket size connected to said glasses. I miss the days when people still followed Apple's line of thinking different. So many customers come into the store with this limited thinking that comes from a negative place and my job gets increasingly more difficult when trying to get them to open their mind and see things differently. Why do we hate change yet constantly talk about needing it?
yeah, I definitely see the battery solution (in the near future) as being a sensible compromise. And certainly, the grand design will be unbelievably impactful on our day to day lives. I just imagine what it would be like to constantly see the time, it would change many things.
Not only is it well written, but the idea, and logic are solid and well thought too! This is a trend I cannot unnotice in fpt in the last couple of videos and I love how you and fpt are maturing into this! Bravo!
Nobody wants to wear Ski Goggles for hours on end: Vision Pro sucks! AR Glasses: Yes, I'll wear them all day!
Just say you can’t afford it.
@@chicagofan4eva23 true haha @rollingmancave4547 try first then speak bro
To be fair: he did say the product that will eventually replace iPhone is probably looking differently, not like ski goggles anymore.
@chicagofan4eva23 everyone with a job can afford it but it's not worth it for most people. I've never been interested in vr glasses or anything like that. If the vision pro was $500 I probably still wouldn't buy it.
So what Jon is saying is that everyone will be wearing glasses in the future like he and I. LOL
Then remove the action button.. why should you keep it?
dam it was just months ago everyone was like no buttons and there are 4 buttons now😭😭😭
I think apple will likely introduce other ways to watch spatial video, and even if not, I feel like they’re going to find a way (likely with some settings) to make all video spatial video that way people won’t even think when they record, but will be praising apple when AR becomes (more) mainstream for already having years of captured memories in VR
I love your delivery style. Keeps it fun and appreciate the humor. All while it’s great information. Keep being you and delivering / presenting the way you do. Well done.
The potential is definitely there in the Vision (Pro).
It mostly needs refinement: ideally, a lighter, smaller form factor along with truly transparent screens will shoot the popularity of this product category into the stratosphere.
Thank you for such thoughtful analysis ❤😊
As someone who used a Windows Phone I have missed the two-stage shutter key and this makes me smile. While I figured what the button was going to do, that zoom functionality is a very cool addition
Very good observation. You make a good case.
This video cover is one hell of a masterpiece! Great work
I can totally see that! Seems so obvious when you point these things out, just something I wouldn't have thought about. You know what else I see? Jon growing and evolving right before our eyes! What a treat!!
you need it to be mechanical because when you submerge in water you need to physically press the button. how you gonna hit your capture button on your phone screen>?
Exactly my thoughts! Great video
I think the button is placed in away that actually makes it easier to record vertical videos
wow imagine 15 years from now.. we are gonna come back to this video. And say... Nailed it!
That's a really intriguing analysis. I think you may be right.
New subscriber here -- this guy's personality is kinda fantastic and I definitely want more of this type of content!
This is a very good point. Assuming you are correct this could be huge!
Nah, people are still gonna use smartphones in 30 years.
Hopefully not. Hopefully in 30 years nobody will be using any type of cellphone.
I just can’t imagine a dystopian world where all the humans are wearing a headset, I hope that is not our future, for the Apple fanboys that really want this to happen, just think about the impact it will have on society & future generations.
Love the videos, entertaining and informative.
I don't see the VisionPro replacing the iPhone. Most people I know can't even think about being able to afford it's $3,000 pricetag.
Great video and nicely produced
I completely disagree that they’d do it primarily for the vision pro, that’s not the selling point for the vision pro, that’s just a small tiny appeal to get it.
Its a door opening, one way one system links on another way as the walled garden it is.
3:32 lol i wont forget this jon... thanks for that
It would be really nice to have a dedicated button for video/pictures (assuming it can) I have missed a lot of moments fumbling to get the camera app up and trying to hit the virtual button.
We have the action button and apple could add a dedicated capture function for Apple vision if they were so inclined.
Look I have only recently discovered your channel but I think you're so on point with your analysis. I can totally see your channel growing larger and larger if you keep up this level of quality and insight. You're talking about things in a way other tech UA-camrs aren't.
Just to add to what was said in this video, with spacial video currently being limited to recording at 1080p I believe that should the ultra wide camera on the next iPhone models indeed increase its MP count to 48, that we will be able to record spacial videos at 4k. I'm also wondering if Apple allow the iPhone 16s to record 8k video as im sure they would then have the bandwidth to record it...
I agree completely with the iPhone 16 being able to record spacial video at 4K, since the ultrawide camera is rumored to have 48MP, like you said. However, another important point that needs to be addressed is to increase the frame rate from 30fps to 60fps. However, I do believe it will happen with the iphone 16 pro, the Apple way.
I don't think I've actually subscribed to a channel faster LOL. The humour is refreshing to the tech space. Thank you
I think eventually vision pro will accommodate eye glass prescriptions with software
Great opportunity to add the touch ID.
Smart analysis.
Loved the way you narrated ❤
It makes sense for spacial videos
Perfect! I have always hated vertical video 😁
I have an iPhone 14 Pro with 94% battery health after a year, which has poor battery life, scrolling stuttering and other annoying bugs. Should I trade in to the 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max or wait for the 16 Pro?
Wait
@@giatiexwkanali2750 Ok, thanks!
And would you get the regular 16P of the 16PM? Thanks.
My iPhone 14 Pro has average battery at 91% health after almost 1,5 years, but I don't have any issues with stuttering, or any bugs for that matter. And I'm on the latest beta. Have you tried a factory reset?
@@mrlightwriter Yes multiple times factory reset with settings and or with iTunes and both didn’t help for that.
@@satxrnhimself That's unfortunate.
The Mac hasn't died. The iPhone will be just fine.

makes a hell lot sense John.
Maybe in 10 years. But not at $3500-$4000 for the VP.
The lidar sensor is the first iphone feature to help vision pro not the capture button
Well said and I think it makes sense
In order for the vision pro to become our next main device, it's gonna need to get really small and really compact.
While having a much longer battery life. Which contradicts one another.
@@michaweewhy are we acting like technology doesn’t advance rapidly? How many hundreds of times more powerful is the A17 Pro compared to the first iPhone?
People are even working on new battery tech to get batteries smaller and higher capacity. Just because phones have plateaued doesn’t mean technology as a whole has stopped moving forward.
The iPhone will become the battery pack and expansion drive for Vision Pro and camera for when away from the headset
I really liked your documentary it had a serious note. And I really love the comedy side. Want that atm 👌
“The future is now” - Wayne Szalinski
wow cannot wait to press this button outside us where vision pro doesn’t even exist
Fantastic episode, as always, thanks Jon.
You are spot on! Mixed Reality is the future but most will not be able to see that yet.
If this is the time for vertical photos and videos, then why isn’t it easier to position the cameras like in the iPhone 7 plus?
Official Pokémon capture button! 😂
You mean like Sony Xperia 1 V?
*Only 3 major features left for the iPhone to include: no notch display, new battery tech that doubles the battery life, wireless over the air charging.*
You are right. This is a glimse of the vision that the future lets us see here and now. Most people will not understand it.
How will it work with a case on it
If the base model iPhone 16 is getting the capture button dose that mean it’s getting lidar for the depth of field? Think the Vision Pro is going to kill off laptops, tablets and other kind of computers before it kills off the phone
Couldn't agree more
The button sounds very cool and intuitive sorta like a camera shutter button where you have to hold lightly to focus and harder to actually capture. Except this one might have even more functions like zooming!
It'll be interesting to see how this video ages years from now. Looking forward to seeing how the future of mixed reality goes
Is spatial video just a fancy name for 3D video?
What's the use of the action button then?
I think it more likely „replaces“ the iPad
FPT dude should be on a stage somewhere, so funny :)
I'm still excited to see the Vision Pro, but would I *really* want this to replace my phone? No thanks.
yay! I missed the dedicated camera button from the sony ericsson phones from the mid2000s
It’s still there on the recent Xperia phones ❤
Thanks for the 10 minute, 17 second video 😉
Very true very true, only thing is just picturing what that next big thing will possibly even look like..
This contrasted well with Tailosive techs video today
bro ima be real with you im not walking around with that shit on my head 😂😂😂
Obviously not this model but when there the size if normal glasses you will
People would say the same thing about AirPods when they first launched.
@@BeaverBeckyeah, its the same thing, wearing a block more than half a kilo and seeing the outside work through a camera is the same thing as an airpod
@@quanmedley6839 when's that gonna be? I think people keep forgetting about the most important thing in all this: batteries. Batteries aren't getting significantly smaller over time. We'll need a quantum leap in terms of pure battery tech before something like these glasses can be the size of normal eyeglasses.
@@BeaverBeck lol what?
kinda silly though to only be able to playback spatial video on the vision pro

Sony being doing a capture button for years
How is that button going to make people turn the phone horizontally for videos?
crazy how it’s been 17 years since the first smartphone (iphone) came out.
Goosebumps hand ✋ his speech ending
How would the capture button work with a case?
like how my Sony Xperia case does it, it has a cut out for it. but it hampers the experience
The actual + button is the current « capture » button, vertically, or horizontally 😉
I literally just watched a video yesterday saying that Vision Pro will not replace our phones, at least not for a very very long time.
100% agree!! Love your always well thought through thinking that tries to veiw through the Apple Inc., lens! Most others are so blind because they are too emotional (subjective). Keep it up!!
