I really miss Nightwish. I know that they won't be touring. At least I saw them last year. I'm happy that Tarja and Marko are still singing the Nightwish songs because, of Nightwish they are known to people and are succesfull in their solo concerts. I'm looking forward to the new album from Nightwish this year. I like all 3 Nightwish singers but. I have a lot of respect for Floor because, how she kept going during her cancer period and the having a beautiful baby. I knew Floor during her time from After Forever etc.
She is the only one "entitled" to sing Nightwish's song? LOL. She didn't even write the songs and hasn't been in Nightwish for almost 2 decades. Get over it. Tarja wanted a solo career. The fact that she needs to sing Nighwish songs because her fans love them, tells us, she or her husband probably made a bad decision of wanting to leave.

I find it interesting - the messaging from the band always implied that the entire band, collectively, did not like Tarja and wanted her fired. Yet when you watch the End of an Era concert it's very clear that Tarja and Marko had great chemistry together on the stage and what really looked like genuine friendship...and now the isntant Marko leaves Nightwish he's otu there perrforrming with Tarja again. I know this is an unppopular opinion, but I can't help but feel that Thoumas (as much of a musica genuious as he is) is a real drama queen, and that he was the source of all the drama within the band. For them to fire Tarja publically the way they did, then do the exact same thing to Annette, and then have Marko also leave some years later but continue to perfom with Tarja....kinda suggets to me that Thuomas was creating a pretty toxic environment within the band.
You are entitled to your speculation but that doesn't make any of it True. The key "fact" is Tarja told them that she wanted a solo career and that her days were numbered. Nobody in their right mind wants to be held hostage by knowing at any time she could leave. Nightwish decided to control the situation by firing her and not taking that risk. Running a business myself, I would do the same thing if a key employee said that. Regardless of whatever you want to believe, Tarja wanted to leave. Unless you don't want to respect Tarja's choice, there is no one to blame. She would have been gone from Nightwish regardless. Saying that she should still be there is basically saying that she made poor choices and can't stand on her own. A lot of time has past and a lot has been forgiven. That is why Marko sings with Tarja. Not everything has to have a conspiracy theory.

The issue is HOW she was fired. A very rude, very personal and very aggressive open letter released to the public airing all their dirty laundry is an incredibly petty and childish was to fire a band member and was completely unnecessary. Don't it the way he did demonstrates that this wasn't just a professional decision about band direction - it was a deeply personal/ emotional response. He didn't just want her gone, he wanted to also publicly humiliate her, destroy her character and turn Nightwish fans against her. Then further to that he went kn to write "Bye Bye Beautiful" which was a song wrotrwn directly to express his anger and hate towards her, and going so far as telling her to die. These are the actions of a deeply disturbed and highly emotionally unstable person and made it very clear that his firing of Tarja was very much personal, not merely professional. And again, the fact that he then went on to do the exact same thing to Anette strongly implies that he was the problem not them. Thuomas speaks of Tarja acting like a spoiled brat, not travelling with the team because she "thought she was too good", not showing up to practices because she was "too busy hanging out with her partner", etc. The way he talks about her it makes her sound like she was the most horrendously selfish person and a complete nightmare to deal with.... yet Marko (a guy who specifically left nightwish due to unhappiness and depression) somehow seems perfectly happy performing with her now after leaving nightwish. That doesn't add up at all. Every bit of evidence here points to the idea that Thuomas is a troubled guy with serious emotional issues who's extremely controlling and very difficult to work with. People leave his band like leaves falling off a tree, and I believe Emppu is now the only original band member who is still with him. There's an old saying - "People don't leave their jobs, they leave their bosses". A lot of people have left Tuomas.

I can only go based on what was written and told. In the end Tarja got what she wanted... A solo career. @darpompie4354 I'm not making assumptions, I'm just pointing out that all of the publicly available evidence points to the likelihood that Tuomss has issues. Tuomas has told his dogs of the story. Tarja (or at least her agent, who was also her finance at the time) told hers. The explanation given by Thuomas really doesn't seem to add up when you consider all available information. The explanation given by Tarja's agent on the other hand does add up, and makes perfect sense within the overall context of the situation. It explains why he fired her in such a dramatic fashion, why he was so obviously bitter towards her, explains why another band member like Marko may not seem to share his personal issues with her, and it also goes a long way to explaining the meaning/ motivation behind a lot of his lyrics before and unregistered after the split. Now I can't go on staying any of this is fact, nor did I. But what I can do is make an educated guess about what most likely happened based on everything that has been put out there. This is called deductive reasoning, and is something we all use every day in our basic lives. I may well be wrong and I acknowledge that, but if ALL of the evidence points to the idea that Thuomas is a drama queen with major emotional issues then that's what I'm going to mean towards assuming it's probanly true. We know from his writing along (e.g. Poet and the Pendulum) that he's clearly a very emotional guy, to the point of suicidal. In fact just listening to the words of many of his songs is pretty damn clear that he's a deeply emotional and highly dramatic person - he would need to be in order to be able to write such amazing songs. Even if she did want to pursue a solo career, I'd things ended on good terms maybe they're could have been potential for the band to get back together at a later time, or for her to even do some future cameo collaborations with the band. However the way the firing was handled it seems that bridge was well and truly burned, and because of that ill never have a chance in my life to see nightwish perform live with tarja, and that's incredibly unfortunate. I still would have been excited to see them live even with floor and Marko still there, but now that Marko is also gone it really doesn't leave me with much more desire to want to see them anymore. Talented as floor is, it always felt like that Trio or Tuomas, Tarja and Marko really brought the best out of nightwish as a band. Now that Tuomas is the only one of that trio remaining is just not the same.

Absolutely not. She's great in her own right and her style is more versatile, but her style heavily changed the character of nightwish from the previous dark, gothic almost ghostly presence to this more "pretty", "sparkly" and mainsteam sound. She's had a couple of great live performances but overall I must prefer the band's output and character during the Tarja and Annette days.
Just like a dream. After so many years, they two performed this master piece perfectly.
