Wow. I feel slow. I played this video to learn how to use it. I thought it was broken and then I took off the cover tape and wow! Letters! Awesome! Thanks.
I have a Korg that are non existent now so I wanted a backup just as good. I found this at Sam Ash last year and after 1 month of use I quickly bought one for every guitar AND a spare in my travel bag 🤣. They truly are THE BEST!
You are wrong totally dude.....The best is the Peterson Stroboclip HD by light years.....0.1 Cent accuracy, and you can also tune to the cents you want.
I just got this tuner, I LOVE it! I think I'm going to pick up the non clip model that screws under one of the tuning pegs and have the clip on for an extra or give it to my mom for her guitar.
Why not have the tuner letters facing up as you are looking at it? That is one of the great features about this tuner. The way you are doing it is driving me crazy...lol.
Hello, My name is Yvy, I’m wondering why my d’Addario headstock guitar tuner (the NS MINI) shows a F# for the B (2) string, it’s jumping from F# to B and back. From the start, I bought it for a month ago.
this is the older version and it's better for one reason then the newer model. the version shown in this video has an on/off button that has a soft click that tells you it's functioning, the new one has a soft, rubbery, undefined button that makes it harder tell if it's on or off. It drives me nuts having to push 2 0r 3 times to get it going.
I just bought a two-pack and am trying to figure it out (came without instructions). It doesn't have all the color indications on the screen as yours, but that could be because it's a newer/different model with slightly different features. What bugs me the most is that it sometimes takes ages for it to register the vibrations (yes, I did make sure it's on). Does it have any settings for alternate tunings? Even standard E flat would be nice to have.

I have a problem with his tuner. The previous generation was a simple green display, and worked fine. I bought several new ones that are in color, and all of them have trouble picking-up low E. sometimes the only way I can get it to work is to play if you frets up, like a G, and then while it’s still vibrating straight to the open E. I thought the tuner wasn’t tight against the headstock, but that wasn’t it. Any solution you know of?
I'm having this exact same problem, I can't find a good place to put the tuner on my Taylor Mini-GS except for on the very tip of the headstock. The tuner has difficulty picking up the low E, which is kind of how I start tuning my guitar. Did you find a solution you could share with me?
@@heyitsmeian This is a universal problem. I have had several d'addario and planet waves clip-on (even the sound tuner), they all seem to have trouble picking up the low E string. It is what it is.
This was my favorite tuner until they updated it and made it difficult to turn on with different graphics, etc. What a shame. I called the manufacturer and a polite person gave me a reason that made so little sense I can't remember it. Fortunately, I have 6 of the old ones on my banjos and one in a fire safe. Many sellers still use old photos so I now own 2 of the new ones that never get used. As for durability, I've had these tuners for as long as they have been made and take them on and off with no difficulty.
I have one and I mostly like the design, except that if I put it in places I can see it, it has trouble picking up all the strings, and if I put it in places where it can detect the string it's hard to see. is there some sensitivity adjustment I'm missing?
Hey, I'm not sure about sensitivity adjustments, but I usually put mine on the far side of the head, between the high E tuner and the bridge, and I haven't had any problems. I'm assuming that it probably needs to be tight on the head to pick up good vibrations. Maybe you can double check and make sure it's nice and snug. Hope that helps!
I think what I need to do is come up with a spacer I can put between the tuner and the guitar neck. My guitar has all the tuning pegs on the left, and if I try to put the tuner near the nut the strings get in the way. With the right kind of spacer, though I may be able to get the tuner to sit over the strings. For some reason I wasn't realizing that a tuner can only be expected to work really well near the nut, but that's where you have yours and of course that's where the vibration will couple to the body.
My friend has a beautiful Taylor Koa . He insists on using a hideous clip on tuner, never taking it off. It looks like a big black head. I'll show him this video.
Bought 2 for 2 gigging guitars....which 440 do they set it to......hahaha.......? A)...it’s way off both my polytune and boss tu 2 B)More importantly the 440 on the indentical tuners isn’t matched either...making them useless for professional work in a band environment.....Al
Is it a strobe tuner? no. Does it come with sweetened tunings? no. Is it small and hidden? yes. The single plus I'd give to this one. Claiming it the best tuner is too far fetch. Nice product tho.
I'm glad it worked for you. You would have to expect it to be inconsistent in loud places since someones instrument may also vibrate from outside sound sources. My favorite bass is extremely resonate and I can not use this with louder noises around. My other basses, I have no issue with in most cases.
So I bought this tuner because it really was all I could afford(10USD) for my brand new guitar. Now my guitar is out of tune, and will remain out of tune because this piece of shit doesn't work and I'm too green to tune by ear. Thanks.
They're all made in China, so the quality is going to be hit-or-miss. The plastic clip on my sound hole D'Addario tuner broke the instant I put it on my guitar. Piece of shit went into the bin.

Just found out how to use this. What a great short lesson it is.
What did we do before UA-cam? Thanks for helping me figure this little gadget out.

You could also get a NS Capo and this tuner will attach to it. Super nice capo too.

I have used it for a long time, very satisfied, but I've just know about the metronome function 🤣
I have a couple of these I like the size but I have had problems with tuning the low E string it can be finicky not as reliable as my snark
Can you use it to tune a half-step down? I recently tuned my strat to E flat, cannot figure out whether this tuner can be used for that.....
You figure this out by chance?
Does it work well for a bass guitar? Especially the low freq?
yes, indeed. I used it for 5 strings bass, it detects 'B' 5th strings well.
Great tutorial ! I have just ordered on on amazon . thanks
Awesome. I hope you enjoy it! I think you will.
I just bought one of these from Amazon, it doesn't have a green display, or a metronome, it must be an older model.
The button is rubber material or plastic?
Can this tuner be used to tune to alternate tunings?
fuggen A, 3rd freekin video on this tuner, DOES IT TUNE IN SHARPS AND FLATS?

Why would I want to leave it at 440? I want it at 432 many times.....Can it do it?
Yes

Great Richard. I hope it comes in handy.

Yes!

How about the battery?? How long before you change the battery????
I've had mine in use on my guitars now for over about 14 months. I play most every day. OE supplied batteries are still working in all of them.

Sacco Belmonte the video is an advertisement
Sure, but don't call it the best guitar tuner....jeez.
@@pabloguerrafuster Yeah, when you're reviewing just one item it's pretty much just an ad.
Can the display be flipped? if not, then Ill wait till the manufacture corrects this issue.
Yes, the display can be flipped. Watch from 1:38, I show you how to flip it.
Great tutorial ! I have just ordered on on amazon . thanks
Can this tuner tune an acoustic guitar to DADGAD?
Hey Abby, I'm not sure, I never tried. That low D may be hard for it to pick up. If I remember, I'll try it tomorrow and let you know
Hey thanks for replying but the one I bought just came in the mail and it does in fact tune to DADGAD. Cheers!
@@abbyludwig6624 are you able to tune half step down and one step down?
Sorry, your wrong.... The best clip-on tuner, imho, would be the polytune clip or the newer peterson clip HD model
Both are accurate to +\- .02 cents my friend
You watched a 3:56 minutes ad
This tuner doesn't work on a louder places....it sucks
I've used it on stage before a service, with music playing on the sound system and a couple of hundred people chattering, and it worked just fine.

Hey, thanks for the song suggestion. I'll definitely add it to my list of songs to draw from for future tutorials.
Anybody else bugged by an upside-down display?
There's a button to flip the display

Feels like a paid advert, you act as though this is a unique device, there are heaps of these with the same features from heaps of companies
The trouble with these clipons is the plastic is absolute junk,

I suspect user error.
telling people that they want to keep it at 440 is presumptuous.
So a simplified tutorial about how to use a "tuner" from "simplified guitar" should go into detail and explain?...
That is a bass not a guitar?🤣
I bought one,it broke as I was taking it out of the cardboard. It's a POS.
