Been using these guys for years at home and they work great for my "around the house" acoustics. Love the low profile aspect and how you can basically hide them behind the headstock... ya know so you're not a psychopath with a gigantic tuner that's larger than your headstock. That doesn't bother me at all, nope...not at all! 😬🤣
I’ve had them on my classroom teaching guitars for years and love them! They do get loose after a long while but no worries, I feel like I get my monies worth and just buy a new one. They’re really not expensive so no wasting money when the clips eventually fail.
I've got one in my gigbag. I agree on all points. I mostly like it as it'll clip to nearly any headstock where other clip-ons can fall off. Plus, it'll stay in place (which can be a problem as I sometimes forget which guitar I left it on). I've found it works better on some guitars vs. others. For example, it's almost unresponsive on my PRS guitars (all of them) but works fine on my Fenders and Gibsons.
Have been using these for a few years on all my guitars - great to hide it behind the headstock - you get some shade from sun/lights depending on where you place it. Battery life is great too. Thanks Scott
I got one of these a few weeks ago. Really like it and no problems with accuracy. I want them on all my guitars. I like to mount mine so the screen is on the backside of the guitar. People wont even really notice it's there.
Great review. BTW, you can slide off the clamp part and tape a small magnet to it...holds perfectly to tuner post. ...much easier than diddling with the clamp!
I love it! I got myself the version you can just screw to one of the pegs so you won't lose it! I mounted it to my travel acoustic and I am so happy I don't have to think twice if I have it with me.
I like this tuner except for 1 thing: It will not remember my orientation setting and I have to change it every..single..time I turn it on. So annoying. I just now came across the D'Addario NEXXUS 360 Tuner and am going to check that out.
I have one of these on my guitar. Instead of putting it on the front, I have it on the back of the headstock so it's less noticeable. I've broken so many of those Snarks; I'm so done with them.
I have had this for a couple years now. Smacked it off the table a few times hasn't broken yet. Probably not as accurate as my helix's built inline tuner but its pretty close and cheap.
Definitely my go to tuner! Another drawback is that you can lose them easily lol I have no idea where they are right now :( Something to consider: they come in 2 flavors. The one shown here, and another that **gulps** you drill in your headstock and put it there with a screw. So, now that you have that new $5,000 custom shop, all that's missing is a drill hole in your headstock for a $15 tuner LOL LOL
I head leaving tuners on your guitar could damage the finish. That's why I still rely on the tuner in my multi effects pedal. Is this true only for those with certain types of lacquer or finishes?
@@ScottUhlMusic agreed but that's why we should all have a decent and bright pedal tuner on our pedalboard as well (especially so we are not tuning at volume on stage during a show)... I use the headstock tuner just as a reference point during the performance
Oh hi. Super pedantic linquistics nerd here: we're all wrong. D'Addario is a contraction of "Da Addario", "da" meaning "from" or "of" - the Italian version of "O'Connor" or "bin Laden". But there are no long or short vowels in Italian, so all the A's are going to be pronounced the same - the absolutely correct pronunciation is dah-DAH-ri-oh.
I've noticed the new snarks will say you are in tune but not quite perfect tune, PITA as I have to check the string at the 5th fret to make sure it is in perfect tune.
I am a big fan of the tc electronics unitune. Not too big when put behind the headstock (you can unfold it when you need the tuner, and then fold it against the headstock when unused), it's a very visible and not too expensive little tuner, still much bigger than this one...
I do love these tuners, but buy extras because when you leave them on the headstock, they will eventually fall off and you lose them. But if you take them off and leave them in your case, the clip can break. So, leave them on, check that they are tight, and be prepared to replace. They're cheap. Buy extras.
I just bought one of these an no matter what I do it just says C. Apparently every sound on earth is C because thats all the tuner ever says. If I change the frequency it still doesn't work
I've been using these for a couple years, and they're great!
As long as you find the right place on the headstock they're easy to see and accurate.
Yup! I agree

Hahaha yeah that’s what’s nice about these for sure!
I just recomend This to our guitar player, Thanks for A lot Of Great tips
Glad to help!

The greatest GIF drop ever!
Even if the video quality doesn’t improve…. If the GIF quality improves, then I consider the channel a win 💪💪

Oh that’s interesting… I wonder why. Thanks for commenting!

Yup! I bought a couple for my main guitars 🤘
Great review. BTW, you can slide off the clamp part and tape a small magnet to it...holds perfectly to tuner post.
...much easier than diddling with the clamp!
Thanks for the info!
This and their capos are the best
I love it! I got myself the version you can just screw to one of the pegs so you won't lose it! I mounted it to my travel acoustic and I am so happy I don't have to think twice if I have it with me.
Oh nice! That’s super cool!
I've been using these for years as well. Excellent tuner. Nice and unobtrusive. Great review, as always!
Thanks Mark!

I use these on my acoustics. Place the tuner on the back of the headstock by the low E. This allows me to operate it with my thumb in first position.
Nice!
Hola Scott. There is a capo you can buy that this attaches to also you didn’t mention fyi
I haven’t attached this to a capo, these are meant for the headstock
Thank you for this video. Does this work for a bass guitar ?
Thanks, and yes it should 👍
Thank you very much !

Yup! Putting it on the back works great too
Hello, Scott! Do you know any multi fx processor that can switch the channel of your amp except harley benton?
Helix is able to change channels on an amp: ua-cam.com/video/wLOE9CVbh9Q/v-deo.html
I have had this for a couple years now. Smacked it off the table a few times hasn't broken yet. Probably not as accurate as my helix's built inline tuner but its pretty close and cheap.
Yup I agree! Great for the price

Dumb question for you. I have always used a pedal type tuner. Do the clipons work as well?
Yeah I love my clip on tuners!
I head leaving tuners on your guitar could damage the finish. That's why I still rely on the tuner in my multi effects pedal. Is this true only for those with certain types of lacquer or finishes?
I leave mine on and it’s been fine
Love mine! got a couple of them
Yup, they’ve great! Except for outside

Videos like this are useful!
Glad you like them!
Great review as always.
Thank you.
Why did you accentuate: “one of those ppl” about changing the 440hz?
Hahahaha because it drives me nuts to not be in 440 😂
"... If you're one of those people" I feel personally attacked by this 😂
😂😂 I had to!
What about the metronome? Is it any good, or useful?
I haven’t used it
Interesting. Any suggestions for headless guitars? BTW - its Da-dairy-oh. Not Dee-A-dairy-oh
Oh damn I’ve pronounced it wrong this whole time hahahaha. I don’t have a headless guitar so I don’t know

I had one of these and it seemed to hate the low E string. Even after a battery change. It refused to pick it up and was too frustrating to use.
That could be an issue with your intonation. One of my guitars has a little trouble with the low E string as well
@@ScottUhlMusic maybe! Other tuners worked fine.
Try positioning it closer to the low e string. It works on vibration, not noise.
I have this. Love it.
Same here 🤘
This timing couldnt be better. I just started shopping for a clip on tuner.
Good luck on your journey my boy!
Nice! 🤘
Get one that's rechargeable. Not having to look for those button type batteries when it's dead is convenient. I personally use the one from Lekato.
does it remember the orientation you choose?
Yup
The Fender clip on bullet tuner is smaller that i think ?
Interesting, I’ll have to check that out! Thanks

A teacher of the dark guitar arts lol
Does it work in a noisy environment?
Yes 👍
I go A439, because I think that's the tuning standard Diogenes would choose.
And that’s why you play drums and have an android green-text phone!!
@@ScottUhlMusic Truth. You get me.
And also a bad attitude.
That comes with “drums” and “android” by default
^ this is my drummer in my band, in case anyone reads this and wonders wtf we are talking about 😅
Nice. Just a few "Player Points" shy of being able to pick one up for free. 🤣
😂🤘
1:36 LOL
I had to!

This one clips on pretty well and is hard to break… but any clip on can fly off by accident, so it’s good to have a backup
I have a Snark Air on all my guitars, leave them on all the time and they have never even budged, even when I’m bopping around the stage.
I just bought one of these an no matter what I do it just says C. Apparently every sound on earth is C because thats all the tuner ever says. If I change the frequency it still doesn't work
Odd, mine does do that. Sorry to hear that. Try getting a replacement
i got it for free with players circle points. I don't like it i'm used to the TC awesomeness of polytune clip
😔 'PromoSM'
What?
who puts the tuner on the front of there guitar. I think that is so dumb.
You can also put it on the back 🤷
