This video just made me well up with tears. I remember when I was 13 Yr old and my Dad's Mk2 Escort van wouldn't start. He was unemployed and couldn't afford a mechanic so I was only too willing as an enthusiastic kid to dive in and have a go,he was terrified I'd do more damage but nervously let me try under his watchful eye.
Together we did what you and Chris did here ( he was just as enthusiastic as Rob was when I got her running) and from then on we always did maintenance to avoid labour costs and my skills developed. It brought back a lot of memories as today would have been his birthday but he's been gone 22 yrs now. Thanks for the memories. 👍
Great to get to understand how Chris goes about logically diagnosing problems, doing the simplest thing first and seeing the experienced technicians’ work come to fruition. I really enjoyed today’s video thanks guys.👍
Cracking electrical fault-finding, gents. Chris’s relay test demo at the end made it very clear. This channel keeps on bringing the quality. Thanks.
Love the way Rob gets so excited when a car starts, Chris is just like "yeh"
Love hearing Chris go through his process
I've never known a channel grow and improve so naturally as this one has, and it was brilliant from day one! The bits where Chris is explaining stuff is as if we're stood in the garage as well as you Rob. 👍
Chris is the man. unbelievable what he can do and knows. love it This channel and the way you both do things, is better than most tv shows. Thanks for putting in so much effort.
I wish these guy's posted daily!!!
He sure does understand more than Rob
Chris the walking car encyclopaedia
@@mrmawson2438 apart from buying cars.
@@brixtonsaint both bring different things to the table. so together it works great.
Love the bench lessons with Chris like if you want to see more like me 😁👍
Oh yes... ditto Edward.
Rob frequently says "Sorry about the noise, Chris is messing about with something"
Probably something interesting we'd love to see.
I liked when Rob went out and Chris run out of fire wood so we got to see that too
Chris. He's in my top 5 of all UA-cam motor vehicle Craftsmen and technicians. Confident , unassuming and modest. And usually spot on.
Who says that god don't exist ? Chris is god . I remember when old Chris didn't like being on camera but now he is a star. You 2 are legends and I wish my garage guys was as honest and as square as you.
Knows his stuff doesn’t he .
I was thinking that about Chris not being on camera in the older videos, he’s come out of his shell 😂
But yeah agree with everything you’ve said 👍🏻
Love this format. Keep the camera rolling Rob!
Hat's off to Ford it's a great looking engine, not hidden by plastic covers like today.
I really enjoy the live feed, as opposed to time lapse, it’s very informative as we can see everything you do, also I do like to hear Chris explaining what he’s doing and why, this new format definitely gets a thumbs up from me❤️.
This is a great video! Chris' knowledge is amazing and your excitement is infectious Rob. I love the down go earth relatability this channel has. No thrills just honesty and great workmanship.
Top videos boys me and my dad used to watch separately then discuss when we spoke he passed away in September but I still watch and really enjoy the content so thanks lads really helped me through a tough time keep doing what you’re doing and thanks for the memories with mi dad 👍👍
Sorry for your loss bud stay strong 👍
Original battery, please. And keep the overexcitement coming, it is so nice to hear you smile and be happy!
Love this vid so much. Showing so much indepth with the issues and how you solved it . Absolutely amazing 👏
At 51 I am still learning stuff, cheers for todays lesson Chris. If it’s 100% original, then the battery terminals have to stay original. Have a great weekend lads 👍
Chris & Rob your all about attention to detail, so keep the escort terminals square , small thing but big to someone that’s really into this car. 👍🏻👍🏻
A tutorial from Chris is ALWAYS interesting and educational for us to watch, Rob. Keep him talking; it's fascinating to listen to someone who really knows what they're talking about.
Keep it original lads. Rob was very excited when the car started, what's he going to be like on Christmas morning when he opens his presents. Keep up the good work :)
We all love when you stay live for most of the video far more interesting
Chris has probably forgotten more than most of us will ever learn. Such an asset to the channel Rob, the explanation of relays was all killer, no filler, perfect. Have a good Christmas, both of you.
Great knowledge by Chris on fault finding once again a genius.
Amazing diagnosis Chris .
I love this channel
That was great to hear Chris working through that 👍, liking the live camera work 👍
Rob, you would be lost without Chris, his train of thought of fault finding a problem is amazing, fairplay to use both, delighted with the will it start, love the video👍
Rob sounded excited 😊 Chris cool calm 😎 😀 👍 what ever works battery 🔋 wise 🤔
Its a beast lad definitely a keeper in my eyes ….chris is great love it when he explains the problems etc great channel
Keep it original guys and again thank you Chris for getting more involved in the videos we know you don’t particularly like it but trust me your a natural, the way you explain things really does help us understand, don’t worry rob we still want you to waffle on 🤣🤣
Love Robs excitement when the engine fires up for the first time.
I could listen to geezers like chris all day the knowledge he has is second to none .Keep the battery factory it deserves to be kept proper
We all watch these "Will it Run" videos for the YES from Rob 😂
I'd keep the square posts - you can still get the correct batteries from Ford
You'd best let Chris know you're keeping him on Rob, even give him a ten bob bonus! Old school thinking rarely fails, great video. Now calm down!
Love how excited Rob gets when the engine starts!
These non-starters don't stay quiet for long when Chris applies his logic and knowledge.
A valuable lesson for all backyard bodgers.
Don't forget that car will need premium unleaded because of the new E10 stuff. It looked like you filled the can with E10 rather than super/premium.
totally agree.
Chris is Mr Cool🥶& Rob is Mr Happy!! 😁Keep original. 👍😍
Get the correct battery guys, you always do it properly, don’t cut corners now! 👍👍
Robs like Chris's apprentice 😁😁
Rob/Chris, the battery is a 085, they are commonly available and not expensive
I'm sure there is a conversion joint to go from round posts to flat cables...they just bolt in...this will keep the original car cables.
Great to see your excitement Rob. I'm sure your heart was jumping. Chris is great, so laid back approach. Have wonderful weekend and thanks for inviting us into your workshop.
Great job finding the resolution to the no-spark problem, great share and trouble shooting - thanks for the share.
So true, love to hear Chris's thought process when he's troubleshooting.
You can buy adapters to take square post terminals to round, they don’t look too bad and the purist could always convert back to square later if they wish.
Am sure I've heard you can as well!
Best channel on UA-cam ,brilliant 🙌🏼
😂🤣 this is quite funny to watch Rob gets so exited, Chris is just like yeah it’s another running car so what. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great to see the the old girl running,Chris is the man when it's comes to diagnostics, keep up the good work guys!
Brilliant video as usual..Chris is really knowledgeable and explains everthing clearly..always learn something new ..top job guys
You can buy flat to round battery adaptors, so you can leave the cables original
How good the wife has just gone out early and sitting on the sofa with a nice coffee watching another good video 👍
You never fail to make me smile Rob when an engine bursts into life and you shout out. Please keep this car as original as possible. Cheers Rob and Chris.
Nice one guys.... chris is right on the button yet again.... well done you....
Please read this comment ,I love your channel, you guys are brilliant,I can watch your stuff all night ,it's brilliant. But I get confused on updates ,I wonder if I've missed a few episodes .the RS2000 is a bit back to front ,please label each video as 1,2 or 3 .or 2 of 4 for example.cant count the times I've watch a recent video and it's been ahead because it's not been labelled properly . As I say your channel is ace ,you guys are ace ,but needs catigoring better ,with better titles .,,all the best for new year
Rob " why do you never smile as much as me" Chris " 😊 " = confidence
Pleasure to watch you both working together it really is 👍
Thanks Chris for explaining the process..brilliant as always
Remember to put super unleaded e5 in it. Think you used e10
Good point. The change to e10 wasn't publicised well. I wonder how many people haven't checked if their cars can run okay with e10?
Chris Norman You are right , also it performs better Z,
Just showing my age remembering back when i worked on Escorts , Orions , basicly most fords because they were so simple back then , GGGreat upload as always Fellers and until our next fix Regards from Dublin Ireland :-)
Chris you are a genius, well done guys , another great result. Wish there was more genuine guy's like you two in the motor trade. Great channel fellas.👍
Just goes to show that genuine, realistic and relatable content from nice people is what most of us enjoy. Keep up the great work guys.
One of the best videos you’ve done lads so informative 👍🏻
Defo keep the original battery terminals. There will be adapters somewhere
Another great vid guys,I love how Rob gets so excited when car starts up.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You guys give an awful lot to your viewers and no BS. 👍👍
I was out with misses and she on about Christmas shopping all I can think about is will it run 😂
Another good video lads.Chris has just a excellent way of explaining problems 👍☘
The pair of them remind me of so many people who helped and taught me through my early years of heap and shoddy scrap car ownership from the early 70s on. Thank you lads!
I knew it would run from the moment you pulled it out of the barn and I even said to myself "It will run" and Chris really knows his stuff
Made the week after Bollock head Boris has spoilt it,well done again.
Keep it original Rob, cracking video
Nothing seems to beat you two, Chris is so laid back this is the best car channel on UA-cam. Merry Christmas to you both.
Original square poles for me. Great content guys. You two are national treasures.
The battery terminals should be kept original
Yes or it will detract
If the correct battery is silly money then I would change to a round post one, it’s such a small detail. Cheers guys, have good weekend👍
Chris is a absolute legend
Robs enthusiasm for that 1st start “yessssss” is a genuine as it comes!
That’s a result
Like for like on battery
Keep it original 👍
Rob dancing around like on a schoolboys first date. Chris just thinks it runs.
Really nice how Chris can explain things.
Rob I love your enthusiasm when things work out🤣🤣🤣and big thanks to Chris for sharing his considerable knowledge with us👍👍👍
It's great to see the little kid in you getting excited Rob . Reminds me of my younger days. We all used to try and run before we could walk Lol. Good job you got old grandad Chris to tell you to calm down. What a great team you guys make .
Use flat post battery as of fords of the day
You can buy an adapter for the battery terminal so you will end up with the best of both. Keeping it original whilst solving the problem. Ford Battery Terminal Post Adapters .Converts Square to Round. EBay.
As a retired TV/ Audio engineer, I love and understand how Chris fault finds on the electrical problems. Excellent video. Have a great weekend guys.
rob I was just wondering because I am 15 I am looking about doing a mechanics apprenticeship I was just wondering did you ever do one because if so I would like to hear your feedback also I am made up about the car sounds lovely.
Keep it stock,factory,OEM, original
Another great video guys, love to hear Chris explaining the technicalities of the electrics.
Chris is unbelievably talented fantastic video again lads
Probably running ruff as you put the crappy fuel in it should have filled it with premium mate the old cars dont run to clever on the new stuff
Keep as standard
Chris is the man
The knowledge is never ending
Thanks for getting involved
Love the contrast with you 2,rob your excitement the engine fired up and chris is like yeh whatever 🤣,nice to see how chris has grown over the year or so in confidence on the camera, looking good guys will be lovely when its finished but on the battery I think your right in keeping it original
Get the correct battery. Keep it original.
Keep original as it is perfectly original
I love how much Rob sounds like Rodney. That guy is worth his weight in gold
You got your names mixed up 👍
Loved the explanation of bridging the relay, so pleased it's a runner for you!
Can somebody tell me how or why a log book expires please
When a new one gets issued
The Key in the Petrol cap just bought back a memory from 1988'ish , My Dad took his 'C' Reg Orion 1.6 GL get get fuel a mile away , Came walking home with key stuck in filler cap in hand to grab the WD 40 .. common fault so say .
Chris did exactly the same wiring demonstration for NASA when they asked him to fix the ignition on the Space Shuttle. 🚀
Good timing to c the Escort’s Christmas Tree rear lights 🎄
