I made this for the family. Everyone loved it. I couldn't be happier with the end result.
Thanks!
I will never allow a ham that I buy anywhere near an oven ever again. That was phenomenal. I made collard greens and scalloped potatoes as the sides. We had alot of food and ended up doorbell dashing some plates to the neighbors. They loved it as much as us.. Thank you so much, Susie (Suzy?). You just created a new tradition for us.
Looks great Suzy! I plan on making it this weekend. Only difference is cutting the glaze with a 1/4 cup of bourbon.
you can also swap out the honey with maple syrup.
Or use monkfruit sweetner
Made it for my family, we loved it, thank you! Can’t got wrong with Costco hams, this recipe, and a Weber Smokey Mountain smoker.
Made this today with bourbon brown sugar rub and it was a hit. Thank you!
I always have something on my offset, and this ham glaze is my goto EVERYTIME. Bout to use it this weekend. Super easy and really takes ham to another level.
Thank you, the ham was incredible. I used a boneless ham and substituted the brown sugar for dark Muscovado Sugar. and added a 1TBS of Ghee to the glaze as well.
Did 1 of these today for Mother’s Day.
Turned out very Well.
Thank you
I love your videos. This is such a great way to make a Christmas ham. I'm planning on that for this year. Might be making 2 as I mentioned to a buddy and he wants me to do one for him. Planning on modifying the glaze to make it more keto friendly but overall, I'm sitting here drooling and wanting to grab the ham through the monitor (lol). Cheers and happy holidays to you both and your family. Blessings & joy this holiday season.
Me and my Dad love your how to make ham video ☺️
Looks amazing Suzy! Thanks for the recipe
Thank you so much. I'm 56 and just learning. What a savior you are.
Thanks for the heart ❤️. Everyone loved the ham
I'm doing mine today. I'm not into a whole bunch of ingredients. Simple is best. Using the packet that came with the ham, and mixing it into a half jar of Apple/Pineapple Jam that has been in the fridge for to long. So long that I don't even remember.
Turned out amazing!
Make it yesterday. Best glaze ever. And I have tried many. Thanks
Simple and amazing recipe. Today will be the second time using this recipe for my family Christmas 😊
Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to cook this for Easter.
It turned out sooooooo great. Thanks Suzy. Also i substituted Cayenne for sweet rub. Perfect.
Stellar, loved it. Did mine on a pit barrel but followed all other steps. Thanks
The ham turned out great. Taste was incredible. Thanks for sharing this.
Plan on trying this for Christmas thank you.
I had to go back and watch this one again - doing this up for Christmas dinner tonight. Can't wait to try it!
Thank you! I double smoke our hams also. It’s a winner. Love your recipe and sometimes swap the honey for maple syrup, or a little of both.
Great video, beautiful family. I have to try this. My wife loves honeybaked ham. I’m not big on ham but I like it.
Another great looking recipe Susie, thank you!
Just made this for Christmas dinner. I could eat the glaze by itself. Excellent recipe
Wow !gonna use your video and receipe for our Easter ham ! Thanks !
Will be making this again this year it was a hit last year and my family is requesting it again. Thank you Suzy!!
I did a double smoked ham last year. For the glaze, I had 1/4 a cup of your Whiskey Peach BBQ sauce with 1/4 a cup of Apple jelly. Heated up in sauce pan to combine.
Turned out great.
Happy Thanksgiving, using now if anything like the 3-2-1 ribs it will be amazing. Very informative as always
Making this tomorrow for Easter
Susie, thank you so much for sharing! I cooked this on my Traeger, it was a big hit!
Hey, I’ve smoked a ham before but it’s almost Christmas and I’m here to watch your great video again! your glaze is the best and you’re the only one that uses the braise step..I wrapped the ham last time too, works well..I used some orange juice. Happy holidays to you and your Family 😊
Amazing just made this what a hit thanks for the video
Just made this tonight and it was amazing. Thanks so much!
Awesome recipe...I will try this...thanks for sharing.
Great recipe. I added some fire honey to the glaze gave a little extra kick.
Wow! Another GREAT recipe! Blessings on you both!
Tried it for the second time today.
I know this is an old video but was hoping for some advice. I need to make this the day before an event. Any tweaks or ideas for how to reheat it the next day for serving that won’t dry it out?
He Susie, my family & I have recovered from being sick. So since I didn’t have time to thaw out a turkey, I found this recipe & will be making this for me, my wife & 2 kiddos tomorrow for Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving 2020
Hope you enjoy! I'm so glad you guys are healthy again!
Did it came out perfect 😋😋😋😋😋😋💯💯💯💯💯😉
I might use meat claws to keep my ham together next time. After I made my ham yesterday I did kind of wish I turned it sideways for the final glaze
Did you put it back on the smoker after glazing?
Made this a few days ago and it was delicious!
Making it right now
Thank you😋😋😋😋😋💯
Your neighbors are soooo lucky.
My favorite part of her videos is when she uses her rubs....she has the reciepe online so if i cant get them, i can make them
Looks delish!! I always thought you would put the ham back on the smoker with the glaze for like 10 minutes to set it in?????
Hey girl thanks 🇺🇸🤘🇺🇸
Hi,
I find it interesting you cover (what) part of the smoker with foil, please.
The foil is covering the "heat shield" under the grates. It's the metal sheet that keeps the fire indirect. I have a Traeger and use their aluminum coverings. I know I could use regular foil, but find that theirs are easier to use and replace.
Foil is covering drip pan. Heat deflector is under. Covering the drip pan helps with clean up
I would use a ham stock. Better than Boullion can be found in most stores.
Can I pre make the glaze, then reheat when ready ??
Yes!
Delicious👍
Curious what smoke settings you use in your videos? I have a camp chef also.
I always run the smoke level at 10.
I do that as well. Much appreciated.
Try whole grain mustard instead of dijon
Susie I'm doing this today.. After adding the glaze do you put back on smoker or are you done just leave it after glaze...thanks looks awesome..family is counting on me tomorrow..
Scott, thinking about this too. What did you do?
Hey Susie Hey...I have the game pelett grill as you in this video. What did you set your smoke setting to?
Always 10!
I would like to bring this to a family members house thanksgiving dinner. 2 questions.
1) will warming the ham in the oven before it’s served have any negative effect on the recipe?
2) would I be okay bringing the glaze prepped and reheating it on the stove prior to serving? Or should I do the glaze at the house it is being served at?
Thanks!
Both of those should work just fine!
W
Thoughts on perhaps adding a Whiskey or Bourbon to the glaze recipe?
Do it!
Hi, I'm not sure if my smoker will go up to 300 degrees. Do you think I could put the ham in the smoker for step 1 then move to the oven at 300 to get it up to temperature for step 2? Thank you.
Absolutely!
@@Heygrillhey Another question that popped in my head as I was watching this again. I have a big family so usually look for the biggest ham I can find when I buy one. The size of the ham would obviously dictate time to cook. Do you remember how many pounds this ham was so I can be aware of time? I appreciate that I'm cooking more to time but would love a ballpark.
Would I be able to make the glaze 2 or 3 days ahead and then heat it up on the smoker the day of?
Yes!
Beautiful and also the ham was too.
Looks great. Did any one see the quantity of the ingredients that was used for the glaze?
I believe it’s in the beginning of vid
Yeah it breaks down the ingredients right at the beginning
Nevermind found it.
nice keep tubing
It's going on the smoker at 7 am. 5 minutes!!
The knife and fork do you have in this video where can I buy them. I have a knife that matches your knife but I no longer have the fork. The knife belong to my father. I never thought I’d be able to I have the fork. With your help I might. I don’t believe my father ever had a spoon with the antler handles perhaps they did make one I never saw it. If you have any information where I might be able to complete my set know thank you very much love your videos. PS I’m smoking a ham tomorrow.
I wish I could help here. These are an old gift that I got a long time ago!
@@Heygrillhey they are beautiful.
I SOoooo wanna taste that glaze. Sell me a package of it? 😁
You can make it yourself! The recipe is linked in the description.
What happened to broiling the glaze? That was the last step in the cooking directions.
I was wondering the same thing. She said it was a 4 hour cook, but I only counted 3. Lost time? Abducted by aliens?
Please reply: how to eat a big chunk of 9.47 pounds ham healthily?
Someone gave me 9.47 Lb ham gift. But I'm only 125 pounds healthy. I fear eating too much each time can destroy my health. So give me advice! Thanks!
One bite at a time.
Why use boneless ham ? Not bone in ham? Please teach me a layman!
I have found bone in is more more flavorful.
