My theory is that Pauly Shore wasn’t instructed to voice his lines like this. He probably knew that the production company would be unlikely to find another English-speaking celebrity willing to be in the film so he started messing around to see what he could get away with, and they were either too scared to call his bluff or just didn’t give a crap.
It’s a deep and subtle commentary. She does like him but she is aware that pinnochio has been unfairly forced into a straight box and she knows he doesn’t really like her but is just trying to live up to societal norms. Honestly a true ally. This is exactly what people at stonewall fought for.
I can’t wait for people to look back on this film and all anyone can remember is how the internet decided that Pinocchio was so fruity, he’s basically a fruit basket 😂
