Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for being here with us! I was clearing some sticks on the dam while they were flying, so I just kinda walked up, at the end ;)
If you live on the coast with cliffs going down to the beach or inland with steep hillsides, its slope soars really well. You can keep it in the air for an hour if you don't crash. It's great for learning how to slope soar.
just got one a few days ago, haven’t flew a RC plane since I was in elementary grade in 2006 with a cheap Walmart plane , lost quite a few of them because they were hard to fly but my first flight with this plane I landed at my feet after a good 2 min flight, I was completely shocked how much easier this plane is to fly. im absolutely hooked now, practicing on a golf course before I hit the slopes but I can’t wait to soar for an hour you got me 10x more pumped to get better!! Aloha 🤙🏽
It's a fun plane, I got one as my third plane after of the 400mm warbird type planes, I liked how I could actually fly it without the gyro. This will bind the same transmitters as those and to a multiprotocol radio like the TX16s as well.
I'm looking forward to some upgraded servos next from Volantex RC...and some brushless power systems, like the P-51 we have waiting to fly right now (coming soon)
Love what you and the camera crew do for the hobby!!! Except now I’m going to have to get this for my 8 year old grandson 😉 lol BTW…….You are following in Johnny Morris’s footsteps. If you’re not familiar with Johnny Morris, he started by selling fishing tackle out of the back of his father’s liquor store. BOOM! Years later he starts a company called Bass Pro Shops becoming one of the biggest influencers in outdoor sporting goods. Continue on your path, the hobby will be better for your commitment and hard work. Thank you!
Thank you sincerely! I love that my sons are getting into the hobby more, now to get the girls more interested ;) As for Bass Pro Shops - high hopes, but that's what I do best!!! Thanks
Great video as always , so cool to see family flying and a great fun little plane to fly , meanwhile I'm sitting here on a fine dry day but like nearly everday this year crazy winds ( west of Ireland ) . This is the extent of my flying today (watching this video) but such a great video it put me back in a good mood. Thanks.
Thanks Nick! Here's to calm conditions ;) P.S. Do you ever slope soar? If you don't know what it is, you might want to look into it. If it's windy a lot, that can be a GREAT way to keep from going nuts waiting to fly, and it's really a whole-nother "thing" - you gotta try it!
Hahhahahahhaha Brian you did a fantastic job of showing just how much skill camera crew really has filming lol. I’m not sure I saw the plane the entire time you had the camera in hand lol! Really like the review! As always thank you guys! Looks like a fun plane! Great vid! I thought it was awesome the wife and son flew! It really shows how accessible the hobby really is.
Glad you enjoyed it! Great plane, and great fun with the kids! P.S. Inside baseball for you - we had to crawl down into the neighbors ditch (45 feet down) and use the stick of shame to get this plane back for our son - LOL - but we got it back!
warbirds are still the way to go cause your buddy won't hurt your plane. This thing won't stand up to abuse like they do, and warbirds are really fun and easy. On the other hand I like the size of this. vision is definitely an issue with me and other people my age. They could make a 800 mm warbird from EPO it would be the greatest thing ever. probably your best bet rather than buying one of these is two war birds, always more fun with friends. it should be noted that the P5 one and the Corsair are totally different than every other warbird and those are the two you want. I have two of the older models t28 and spitfire both are super fun but a beginner will enjoy the P51/Corsair flight characteristics due to the newer flight controller I like what you do with your channel and you help people grow and stay in the hobby. Unfortunately spectrum radio ecosystem forces people out of the hobby and I know you're a big proponent of those systems. NX is already obsolete tech wise IX is behind the curve but it's a lot closer but the prices are insanity. I've heard you say that open TX is hard to learn and too much trouble and it just isn't. for the fans of Brian's great channel every single awesome plane or heli he flies can easily be programmed and flown by superior much much cheaper radios, and some of these toy grades are a great place to start with that language and tech. My opinion but I speak from experience. And I'm old and not techy. 🤷👍🏻
This plane DOES exactly that! It's the same foam at the 400-500mm Warbirds. It's not brittle at all. In fact, I think it's more resilient than some, since it's got a pusher prop configuration. BUUUUUUT, it's not as powerful, which is a bummer. I'd like to see this with a BRUSHLESS on 2S
@@-BUFFALOMan I've flown no gliders off of water yet but a pusher prop is a good start. I think the drag will be too much for this little plane. The Ranger 2000 will need pontoon floats on the wing tips otherwise you'll look like a broken winged bird flapping around in the drink. Take a look at the Albatross wing floats for an idea. Good luck. Post a video if you get it going please.
I've now heard this from three people, so we'll try it. Only issue, there's a vent hole on the nose of the plane, and not sure how to keep it cool, AND dry...
As much as we all love seeing the Camera Crew's beautiful self on screen, it's totally ruined by Brian's camera "skills" 😂😊 All in good fun. Great job keeping that little thing in focus while taking heavy covering fire, Camera Crew! 👍 Oh, and nice catch, Brian Wonder if that thing will land or take off on the pond? I'm sure it floats. So,...
Do you think it will land on the water and get it to come back to you? Maybe a little foam on the wing tips to keep it level in the water? Loved the last part before the unbox build. Big smiles and a sappy tear of happiness for you guys.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I can't wait to see you. I think it'll need a little piece of Styrofoam on each wingtip. At least that's what I would probably do, and may eventually do if your s seems to do the trick
I doubt it. It's a 1S power system, but if it had a BRUSHLESS system, like some of the new 400mm-500mm Volantex stuff, it would be GREAT! This plane, if you ask ME, needs way more power, BUT as you can see - my kid seems to be just fine with the amount of power ;)
I actually killed the factory one, but was with the dentist, and borrowed the motor to finish the video - OBVIOUSLY ;) LOL We were talking about you the other day, Megan and I, about wondering if you were being well fed in the crops across the street still...all that wondering around in the corn, and all...hope you like soy beans this year - LOL
It's way too small and screamy for me. Larger airplanes are a better bang for the buck. But I guess people purchase these small planes because of the weight limit (250gr), especially in the U.S.
yeah, for a lot of people, that's the ticket, but also for kids, and parents who have kids - they want the lower cost to "test the waters" - and this can help a lot...but for the "serious enthusiast"...probably not the right fit.

Thanks! We're loving it too!!! Swimming has been way more fun than I realized, and now with the docks in place, we're really getting hooked!
That black is a nice contrast easy to see. Surprised more companies don’t do black options.
spray paint!

Bixler planes are always pretty solid, but this looks really underpowered. I'd recommend one of the Arrows RTFs instead. They are extremely good.
I felt that it was pretty under-powered too. Wish there were a brushless motor - how sweet would that be?!?!

Omp S720 sbus works great
Yeah, it's nice on that plane! I loved that feature

how does it compare to the 400mm warbirds😊?
