How do I... store it? Apparently its ...alchohol free(oops)
What are your top 5 favorite drinks? Or top 3
negroni? we have a dark agricole from martinique called negroni!
Greg, how the hell do you taste notes. Is there a certain toothpaste I should be using? Do I need a tongue transplant. I mean help me out Wonderboy. What is the secret of your power?
Greg! Your videos are keeping us sane in KC during the shutdown. How do you feel about Wray & Nephew Overproof in a daiquiri? Carry on!
I really want to make these drinks, but I can't afford to spill half my liquor on the counter. Is the spilling part essential for the recipes, or can I just adjust the measures to account for it?
necessary, you must honor the old tradition!
@@Adrian-qr6gk Well shit. I just hope the old tradition doesn't say anything about licking the spillage up off the counter.

Story time: my 2 year old son loves watching your show. He calls you the juice man. And every night before i put him to bed he always asks for juice man
That is so wholesome
Might have a right proper bartender on your hands when he's older
I love that you're back to spilling 3/4s of each ounce onto the table rather than into the shaker. That's the Greg we all know and love.
he's just showing the old footage where he did that.
@@caspatrofal but he spills everything.. like, in every video. I've watched a lot of these, and I've only seen him get the whole shot into the glass maybe a couple times.
Patrick Luhrs Slow mo shots are recorded separately
I dig all the dripping though. It gives character to the videos and to the science that's around us at all times and it actually makes the whole thing look more natural imo.
As a long as he spills less than do I it is not dripping.

I’m so glad that Quarantine is turning everyone into an alcoholic. It’s making me feel less self conscious about my drinking habits.
How to go from recluse alcoholic to responsible citzen with this one easy quarentine tip
Wait, it’s not normal to slug half a bottle of rum on a Tuesday night?
Dominic Borrelli half?
Miss the pub so much. Drinking whiskey and lager at home is saving me a lot of money so it has an upside.
Bro I straight up had vodka with my breakfast this morning at like 5am quarantine is wild
I discovered that colorless and odorless liquid coming from the tap can be used as a daily drink for hydration instead of vodka. Quarantine teaches stuff.
The stuff you shower in? I don't trust it but I'll try anything at this point.
Water? Like out the toilet?
Wow really?? What's the ABV?
Wait does that stuff get you drunk?

Me: Wonders if this is Greg's version of a clip show.
Greg: "It's a clip show!"
I wouldn't be surprised if he's running low too
A compilation episode, being rapid fire, was a good idea - especially as some of these base videos are several years old. It was bizarre seeing the old intro, instead of your bespoke ones.
His faces kill me every time. The daiquiri face looks like he's a 3 year old trying chocolate ice cream for the first time.
Was watching the movie “Zodiac” and Jake Gyllenhaal introduces a cocktail called an Aqua Velva to Robert Downey Jr. Greg, MAKE THAT DRINK!
I've always wanted to see how that's made!!!
There's another cocktail channel on UA-cam...I think it's Bruce.... anyhoo he made an aqua velva at some point.
I was reading In Cold Blood and one of the killers would drink Orange Blossoms. Basically gin and juice with sweet vermouth
Been wanting Greg to make this for a while! Great scene
That's a great one!
Love Margaritas - and I'm slowly warming to Negronis now that I know that for me; they need to be aged for a few days to mellow.
Have you ever tried whiskey sour?
Glad to see my two favorite content creators acknowledging each other!
I almost want to ask for your favourite mocktail mixes, since I swore off the booze a couple years ago, but I get the feeling this comment's gonna get buried lol.
Love the show, it's great entertainment during this isolation. Stay awesome ^^
Piña colada is delicious virgin style. And virgin mimosa is good too.
This is a great comment!
He has done a few.
So I only recently found this channel, but a lot of the videos where he recreates drinks from TV and movies he has a non-alcoholic version!
'if you can, i would rim it' has to be one of your greatest unintentional lines i've heard
What about a Cuba libre ?!?! Rum, Coke and Lime.... 🥃
I kept highballs off this list
Maybe Coke has too many ingredients in it??? Or things like Soda, Lemonade etc. have too many characteristics it muddles the necessity of being simple ingredients i guess
highball drinks arent real cocktails
I was wondering the same thing. I have Cuba Libres frequently cus it's easy and simple to get with the limited stuff I have access to living in a countryside village.
piscola will always be superior
Also a good option for simple drinks is the Mule family. Spirit, lime juice, and ginger beer. I guess technically that makes it a highball and not a cocktail, but still great for simple preparation, and they have commonly available ingredients.
I also like it because it goes well with almost any spirit, so you can customize based on what you have available and what you like. They also all have names, which is fun.
Vodka: Moscow Mule
Bourbon: Kentucky Mule
Gin: London Mule
Rum: Jamaica Mule
Tequila: Mexican Mule
And if you like cocktails more than highballs, you can use ginger syrup instead of ginger beer, which makes it a Buck instead of a Mule.
I really like to use Drambuie which, I guess, makes it a Scottish mule. It's quite sweet but I often enjoy one on a hot summer day.

Binging with Barkeep?
You can really hear Greg’s deep knowledge and passion for cocktails and just the whole alcohol industry in general! Really love hearing him talk about something he’s so interested in
"..hard to get liquor", "simple drinks" every shot shows barman spilling half the drink on the bar...
Thats because they are inserts of b-roll footage from previous, non-quarantine, episodes.

Well filming while measuring ingredients is hard.
Hi Greg, could you do a video on bar maintenance? I would like to know how to properly care for a bar, how to display and store liquor, and which items need to be refrigerated. Much love to you in these quarantine times and thanks for the recipes.
Vermouth and simple syrup should be refrigerated.
@jimklemens5018 if you make a 2:1 syrup like Greg always advocates for, it's shelf stable and doesn't need refrigeration
@tspooner01 I keep my rich syrup in the refrigerator too.
@jimklemens5018 that's like putting bread in the fridge imo. You can do it, but there's no point and you might just get unwanted crystallization
@@tspooner01 It doesn't crystallize.
Gotta love it when Greg's presenting and it's clearly AFTER he's made a few drinks.
You don't seem to spill anything like as much alcohol as you used to... the flashbacks really highlighted that.
You should make a best spillage playlist! 😁
the cocktail I do when i'm in a Skype-"aperitif" with my friends are :
A Moscow mules which you did in your show, really good :D I like it !
and I also make a cocktail with
2 oz of Malibu coco (coconut flavored rum)
2 oz of vodka ('cause need more alcohol)
1 oz of cane syrup ('cause I don't have simple syrup)
the juice of 1 lime
shaken with 1 big ice cube and 4 little ice cube, open pour in a pint x)
It's fresh, it's coconuty limy !
Sometime, when I don't have lime, I put 2 oz of Lemon flavored juniper.
I don't know if this cocktail exist but it's good x)
if it don't exist, I shall call it "A taste of summer"
Love from a french fan ^^ !
Yum! I have a lemon and lime trees. Coconut anything is my favorite. A fan in Florida.
Brooooo simple syrup is just sugar and water, you can do it 2:1 or 1:1 so like 1kg of caster sugar then 1000ML of cold water and just stir it until it all dissolves you might have to let it rest a couple of times before stirring again
@@stormee14 I'm pretty sure that caster sugar is white sugar now
(Caster sugar was called that because the sugar was packed into a mould and then sugar syrup was poured overtop, and then left to dry in a paper packaging. Due to industrial methods, that method is obsolete.)
@@stormee14 Well, i have a bottle of cane sugar syrup because we do cocktail with rum sometime so I use it ^^
it's not really because I can't make simple syrup ^^
Sounds great but knowing me it will put me to sleep with all the sugar from the Malibu and the cane syrup. Also it's 4ozs of alcohol (i know they dont have to be 80 proof but still). Otherwise, sounds great :)
Honey bee/Honeysuckle has been my go too cause I have all the ingredients for it. It's just rum, honey, and lemon. It's tasty and with the honey/lemon combo it's practically medicine
Try swaping the rum for some silver cachaça and you are in for a treat
Next time just call it an "up to four ingredients", so you don't have to apologize as much
Can you do a “how to” video on making a Rusty Nail? With the Drambuie? It’s one of my grandpa’s favorite drinks and I’ve never been able to get it quite right. Pretty sure it doesn’t have too many ingredients so it would be perfect for quarantine too!
50 ml of your blended scotch whiskey then 15 ml of drambuie
@@stormee14 ...and a twist of orange.
There is a wide variety of scotch, and picking the right one might make all the difference. Time to start the taste testing...
Just play with the ratio to your taste. My preferred Scotch for Rusty Nail is JW Black. I'll use Laphroaig if I'm in an Islay mood on hot day.
@@svennoren9047 I don't see Rusty Nails with an orange twist very often! That would definitely add something to the drink, though unfortunately I can't test it at the moment since we don't have any Drambuie...
I'm trying to figure out what kind of scotch would go well with it. I'm not much of a scotch guy...
I realize this comment is from a year ago, but I'm binging all the HTD episodes so here I am.
The Rusty Nail is my favorite cocktail. There are a lot of opinions about it, but here is mine, and I'd argue it's the right one.
1. A Rusty Nail should be made a with a /good/ single malt scotch (or blended if you insist). Just because it's a cocktail doesn't mean you should break out the Red Label. If made properly, the scotch component is a dominant part of the flavor profile.
2. Everyone claims the ratio is 2 parts scotch to 1 part Drambuie. Sure, that's a good starting point, but I've found over the years that toning down the Drambuie and using high quality scotch makes a really fantastic drink. I recommend 4 parts scotch to 1 part Drambuie.
3. Drambuie does limited releases regularly w/ specific single malts distilleries as partners. If you can, pick up one that matches up with your scotch preference and up your Drambuie ratio slightly (3 to 1). This will /really/ help to emphasize the scotch in the cocktail.
Finally, I believe a Rusty Nail can only be mixed and served one way and one way only, which is it /must/ be mixed in a separate glass, and strained over one large (preferably clear) ice cube in a rocks glass. Building the drink in the glass it is meant to be served in is a no-no, and leads to too much dilution. This is a drink that needs very minimal dilution, and should be as close to how you'd like the temperature of a straight whisky pour over ice.
I really really love Isle whiskies, and particularly love Talisker 21 (unfortunately no longer produced). For a short while there was a run of Drambuie made using Talisker as the base scotch, and it is my preferred Drambuie when paired with a Talisker 18 in a Rusty Nail. Utterly fantastic, and will not disappoint.
Personally, if you're going to use a blended scotch in your Rusty Nail you should use one that stands proper such as some of the offerings from Compass Box or a Green or Gold (18) label.
Turned 21 during quarantine. These simple cocktails have been a god send
Legal drinking age is 18

But seriously though, welcome to the club.

Here’s a drink to add to your old fashioned family: it’s called the Tempting Tigress and its an old fashioned made with St Elizabeth’s allspice dram. It’s served at the bar in the Animal Kingdom at Disney. The recipe is online and it’s really really good.
My man, here’s a 2(3) ingredient drink: tequila, cucumber lime Gatorade in Tajín rimmed glass!!! If you can create a gourmet version of that share the recipe. I’d love to hear it

@@Slommy99 im not much of a mixologist (in fact i sit squarely in the "noob" camp) but i usually do about a shot of rum, twice that of hot water, and a spash of lime (i haven't bother to measured it).

My go to easy Wiskey Sour:
-1 part agave
-2 parts lemon juice
-4 parts wiskey (usually Jack Daniels)
For anyone fancying Martinis, I can recommend trying one with a grapefruit twist. When A/B-testing different citrus twists with a friend of mine we both really enjoyed the grapefruit one.

Hey Greg, your Margarita recipe is one I always come back to. It's simple and so good! Quality curacao (ferrand works great as you know) makes a HUGE difference in this!
I've made all of these at home during this lockdown XD but i'd love to see more Fat-Washed Old Fashioned's on the show! Peanut Butter, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Bacon-Bourbon. Could even try these with as a Sour like I have. Love the channel and you're work Greg and Co

I got thrown off when you said the Rhum Barbancourt Haitian white, because I'm Haitian and NONE of my bartender friends ever know what it is when I mention it.
I'm so happy to hear that you prefer it. Cheers man, from one bartender to another 🍻
I like a salted rim. I love the way it transitions from salty to sour! Might be why my favorite chips are salt and vinegar.
Love your vids dude! Gotta add the dark and stormy to the list!!! Good dark rum, ginger beer, lime juice. Have at it.
If it has less than three ingredients, is it even a cocktail? 🤔 or a longdrink? 🍸🍹
You need to do a WI old fashioned video. start with your whiskey glass, put in 1 orange slice, add 2 red cherries. Add a sugar cube and bitters. Middle everything accept your orange peel. Add cherry syrup just a splash, add a splash warm water and mix. This is the most important part add brandy, no you can not use anything else otherwise it’s not a WI old fashioned. 1-2 shots top with soda. Add garnish usually cherry, and orange (mushrooms optional) and for a little more WI spirit use cranberries to garnish.
Recommenting to say... great episode. I love hone simple recipes. Too often I can’t make something without ordering away for stuff. Thanks Greg. Making that marg now

Ah, finally! Some seventy-five dollar drinks to balance out the normal hundred-and-fifty dollar drinks I see on this channel. I appreciate the variety.
My current favorite 3 ingredient drink is a boozier version of your Black Blood cocktail from the Witcher cocktails you made. Its phenomenal. So much so I got a bunch of Star Anise to make an Anise syrup to add to my regular coffee and brew it with a bit of Roasted, ground cacao.
That's a great video idea ☺ I like drinks with a small amount of ingredients anyway, because they often rely on a certain harmony. I mean, look at a whisky sour or something similar 🤔
Edit: ok, see why whisky sour not necessarily falls into this category now, according to your argumentation 🤔
It's nine in the morning, day 13 of quarantine and I just had the best whiskey sour! Cheers man.
One drink I've always loved since I was definitely 21 was something I made myself, or at least I think, 3 ingredients, split 2/5 raspberry iced tea and vodka, and 1/5 pineapple juice, still haven't thought of a good name for it though
Nope. Can't make any of those. I do not possess any kind of bitters, and most of my collection is whiskey.
I love this so much, i got it in recommended and for a first timer im actually a huge fan of what i get! Great videos! Perfect to relax to and learn a smooth trick!
Plantation 3 star is my new go to daiquiri rum. If you haven't tried this do yourself a favor.
If you've ever run out of ice, you learn that ice is the most important ingredient in a martini. Yuck.
Yeppers.
It needs both the dilution and the COLD!
Making sure it is chilled enough, without starting with iceboxed gin or vermouth, is key.
The rest (choice of gin and vermouth) is variation.
haha yesss. If the quality of ice isn't a problem, I suggest to freeze a whole plastic box of water and then break it with spoon
The more commenters comment about spilliage, the more spilliage he will spill
Welcome to entertainment
I have said it before and I’ll it again a bar spoon of quality agave nectar is a fine ingredient to add to any lovingly made margarita
I’ve tried a Mezcalita recently in a local bar. You swap the tequila for Mezcal. The Smokey component balances really well with the acidic, sugary, salty drink. Cheers! Awesome channel!

I'm sad that the Whiskey Fix didn't make the list. Its a great three ingredient cocktail, as long as crushed ice isn't considered an ingredient. Made it using a homemade honey syrup and it looked awesome with that little bit of foam on top.
Great video as always sir :) Thank you. Strangely today I found myself making a lot of eye contact with your deer head? Does it have a name? Do you ever talk to it? :D
I can talk about different cocktails for hours. Especially when I’m drinking cocktails. Just made my first whiskey sour. It’s not cocktail bar quality yet but it was pretty damn good. Thanks for making these. You explain them in a way that makes sense to me.
What about this classic 3 ingredient drink:
1) 1 oz Whiskey (or rum)
2) 12 oz Coke
3) ice
Spriggs_FM nice! I had that last night while eating tacos and watching “Midway.”
I'm drinking : 2oz Carribean or St Croix Coconut rum.

I'll like it because omg man
Why are u hating on that fade you looked great
Do skooma internet drinky man, I need it!

An AMAZING twist on a Negroni I always add to mine is a little dash of vanilla extract! It adds a really nice sweetness to it on the nose!
"If you can, I'd rim it" hahahahhaha

5 year plantation rum with a lighter syrup(less sugar) makes my favorite daiquiri. the toasted caramel/baking notes works so well in a daiquiri.
