      He is the true goat. He was never defeated. Big Ron was and that's what separates them. I get upset to cuz he was the first to break the record and never lost an Olympia. Big Ron is just looked at youngsters today as the cuz of his size. Ron was great but Haney i feel was better.

      The whole "destroying your body" thing is so exaggerated. Do injuries happen? Yes, but that's normal in any sport. People act like what happened to Ronnie Coleman is what happens to all big bodybuilders, that's just not true at all.

      @@misterperson5606The only reason Lee Haney isn’t as well none as Ronnie Coleman is because his career ended before the advent of social media. But despite that people have reverence for him within the industry of bodybuilding and out. And at the end of the day he left the sport in fine fettle and unfortunately Ronnie Coleman didn’t 😢 even though they won the same amount of Sandow’s who’s the real winner?

      Dorian and Ronnie are mentioned in the video. Ronnie yes your right he has paid the price but a price worth paying and a true legend of the sport. Dorian however, he's living a healthy lifestyle now and is incredibly fit and mobile despite the impressive size he still maintains at 50 something.

    I saw Haney guestposing at Fibo in 1987 and he had the most pleasing physique I have ever seen - such a small waist and wide shoulders. The last bodybuilding champion of the golden era. And so humble and friendly.
    I saw Dorian at Fibo in spring of 93 and everyone there knew things had changed forever.
    He couldn't barely walk because of his size.
    A quantum leap - whether you like it or not.

      @@thomasspielman577 ich habe nie wieder jemanden gesehen, dessen Unterarme so dick waren, dass es ihm Schwierigkeiten bereitete, die Handfläche auf die Tischplatte zu legen. Die damals so beliebte "Mike Chistian Platinum Everywear" Hose saß stramm an den Beinen.
      Er war zudem gut voll mit Wasser und schnaufte schon kräftig, als er die Treppe zur Bühne hochstieg. Sein Gewicht machte ihm offenbar schon einige Probleme. (Wie Rühl später).
      Er sah für uns damals wie die lebende Version einer dieser "Better Bodies" Gips-Figuren aus, die so "in" waren.
      Ich erinnere mich an Bertil Fox, der kurz zuvor in unserem Studio einige Zeit trainiert hatte und an einen Gastauftritt von Achim Albrecht - beide damals absolute "Masse-Monster", aber das war vollkommen neu.
      Wie ein Big Rami oder ein Nick Walker heute mit diesen Körpern lebensfähig sind, Ist mir ein absolutes Rätsel.

    I’m almost 50 yo . I followed Lee Haney from the beginning.. that man was pretty much natural compared to guys of today that’s all him!! Look how good he still looks💯he never abused his body plus I really liked his cristian values I wanted to carry myself like that I thought as a young man. Lucky to have met him all thouse years ago at the npc southern states where I competed as a lightweight. Mike Katz helped me backstage… it was a great day for me😇

    Back in the day in my gym in Germany there was a big Lee Haney picture. It was in 93, pre Internet era, and he was very respected and admired in the scene. A superstar. Good times.

    Tony Freeman said if he was doing 50 lbs for a biceps EZ curl bar that was a heavy day. He was 45+ years old and still 7th in the Olympia and got 3rd in the Arnold.

    Dorian was favorite. He was aesthetic. Ronnie was aesthetic early on, but then he got too big. You can see his abs start to split as he went on

    Lee is being modest ..I remember back in the day when asked about his best lifts ,he had some crazy numbers also..well over 500lb bench,over 400 for strict rows, over 600 for squat and deadlift.Up there with Dorian and others.That he chose not to train super heavy was what was best for him and career.

    I wish I would have learned this early in my bodybuilding career. I have a 27-in waist and I was trying to put up big numbers like people that are built like brick houses. You have to work with what God has given you.

    Haney looked better than this mass freaks. And looks better today and he’s been around a lot longer, Haney is healthier can walk on his own, his voice is strong not a broken down bodybuilder. Haney is a smart man.

    Lee haney inspired me to lift weigths. And I"m soon to be 56 and I still training . Some in jures here and there but thank God nothing Major. And that's thanks to lee's advices .
