Amazing ruins of the castle and a good narrative on its history. Loved the church with the tombs, they are so colorful and the ceiling with the coats of arms is simply magnificent. thank you for another great watch.
This was a great way to kickstart this roadtrip!! I’m so glad that you chose this one, it’s peaked my interest and I’m going to read up on it! And I’ve been to many tombs and I’ve never seen such colorful ones! I’m so glad that you showed us that! What a beautiful day, your video and photos showing the ruins against the brilliant cerulean sky were works of art! Great eye! Thank you again and safe journey and looking forward to your upcoming posts!!
So much remains! wonderful architecture. My uncle was based at Shawbury RAF back when I was a little-un. Great video looking forward to the rest of your road trip👍🏻
Fantastic look around these ruins..the thickness of them walls no wonder it’s still stood!..could the figures be griffins.?..loved the church as well beautiful stain glass windows and sculptures..cheers Matt ✌️
Wales has so much to offer. Lived here most of my life. This is such a stunning place. So glad you've covered it. This is my 2nd of your vids and I've really enjoyed it. Right up my street. And looks like I've got some great stuff to catch up on too.
Hi Matt. Thanks again. I must have missed Moreton Corbet. Corbet is very much a Shropshire name. It all ties in with Corvedale, the valley of the raven. Courbeau in French. A classmate of mine at school was Sue Corbet. We called her Sooty. Pretty lass with a sharp face and shiny jet black hair, like a raven. What's in a name, eh? Keep travelling for our enjoyment and entertainment!
thats an amazing castle, cool mythical creatures , one being called a 'Wyvern'- { type of mythical dragon with pointy tail } another creature on the building is called the 'Chimera' -{ Greek Mythology} which can be any Hybrid Creature .... just a quick google :-)
Really interesting those tombs were beautiful 😊
They were incredible tombs. Thanks for watching 😊

It's a stunning ruin 😊. Another comment elsewhere suggests wyverns.... thanks for watching 😊
Living in Wales now , moved from Calderdale 4 months ago , both places full of interest
You'll see some Wales videos appearing on the channel in the next few days. Cheers 😊
Spooky in that room down the steps, I didn't stay in it long when I visited lol
Yeah just a bit....was really cold 🥶
@matparks08 Yes, I think there is ghost stories, but will have to look it up, Thanks for going in the church as it was locked when I went x
No problem 😊

Corbet and Sooty and Sue definitely all go together 😆 thanks for watching
In my neck of the woods, Shrewsbury 😊
😊
Absolutely incredible ruins l expect the landscape hasn't changed much although it was probably peaceful back then. No noisy helicopters 😊
I've never known so many helicopters 😅. It was certainly a lovely location though
You're in my neck of the woods, I live in Myddle, which is nearby. Apparently, the castle ruins are haunted 👻
800 years old, I'd be surprised if they weren't 👻. Thanks for watching 🙂
The church looks beautiful and the castle must have looked magnificent in its day. Such a shame it was left to ruin
Yeah, it's an impressive site even today. Thanks for watching
Not far from RAF Shawbury x
We found that after we left here, though I guessed with the constant helicopters there must be something nearby 😊
Lovely area, I walked from Moreton Corbett to Shawbury and went in the Elephant and Castle till my mate picked me up x
Too much to drink? (Joking, sorry....was how I read that) 😊

Cheers.....interesting it's a wyvern....they have them on the indoor market in Halifax....wonder if they have a meaning to buildings?
Shawbury helicopter training site which I believe is RAF.
Yeah, when we left here we immediately spotted the RAF base 🙂
