7:06 If you trust the body lines on your car, use them to help guide your alignment. It’s a great cheat code!
6:15 Use the door striker & latch to inform your adjustment. If the door drags onto the striker to latch shut, then you need more adjustment! Only move the striker as a last resort, especially if the door latched shut fine before you started messing with it!
Skip to 4:15 for door adjustment tips! The correct way is to install doors before your front fenders but this is an easy way not to. Remember to loosen the bolts a 1/2 turn past snug and adjust as needed.
5:30 You can adjust this condition by jacking up on the tail end of the door once the body side hinge bolts are loosened to 1/2 turn past snug

in process of working on my 83 t type and my doors latch with like about 3/4" to 1" stick out. i ordered the hinges and want to know can doors come off without removing fender? Is it recommended to remove given the age of car?
Hey, that sounds like you need to adjust the latch striker inward. I think it’s a T50 or so. You can remove the doors without removing the fenders but mask off your door and fender edges to prevent against rubbing when you install the new hinges. It’s tricky, but can be done single-handedly with a jack. Age of the car has no factor
