You know what sucks more than a player bypassing a small grind with money? The game folding because no money is coming in. I haven't paid a dime since I bought it in 2021 and I've enjoyed 3 major quest updates and a ton of other minor updates for FREE. Now there's a map expansion coming out for free. THANK YOU Fallout 1st members. You are the people that keep the game alive.
I’m sorry, who’s fault is it if the game folds? Is it Todd’s, for lying to us as much as he possibly could to pump stock in his company before they could sell it to Microsoft? Is it the devs fault, for releasing a subpar product? Is it the publisher, for pushing more and more scummy micro transactions into what was a full priced $60 game?
It sounds like you think it’s the Customer’s fault for not throwing more money at a company that has lied to our faces- AGAIN.
I say again because they promised the atomic shop would be cosmetics only. “But fallout is popular right now, and we didn’t think ahead to actually have a good product to sell them… what to do? Let’s just get back to milking our fans 🤣”
By the way, selling me a game that sucking clucks and then adding “FREE” updates, is not impressive because the game finally has enough content to justify the initial purchase. If you were a real fan, this stuff would bother you.
If a shotgun is THE game breaking weapon for you....then you need work on your account.
This isn't a plasma caster or plasme flamer. Is a shotgun that does freeze damage.
Both weapons you listed don't even do the same damage the shotty does. The shotty doesn't need perks to use, the other two do. Try using either of the weapons in pvp that you listed, they're weak. The shotgun is not.
The shotgun is a good starter weapon. That's it.

I think it’s more the concept that if they can sell a shotgun thats different and an auto axe, what stops them from selling something like legacies or really anything broken?

Something a lot of you don't know if you're new, Bethesda for 1 day sold a pump action shotgun, just a base model that's able to be rolled, with better stats than the one you can pick up in game. Meaning they were trying to sell better stock variants of weapons we already had. There was insane backlash. I still have a few of them with God rolls on them. They 100% want to push pay to win but they're trying to not get caught about it.
Not everyone has the money for the shop. Likewise, many people have RL time issues and cant grind fast enough
With 5months in hospital whilst auto axe was in scoreboard I was very happy to see it in the atom store
I'm glad I got the auto axe from the score board. 500 stamps is quite a grind
same here. I don't do Expeditions, only do them for the challenges and many times I just change the challenge itself so I don't have to do them anyway😁😁😁😁

@@Shamushead they are definitely better than Daily Ops. "not timed" is the best part.
I used to do the Ops mostly for the ammo but here you still get a lot, and the rewards are way better.

I dont care ... I've grinded nearly 7K stamps this year so this allows me to direct those stamps to other plans or save them for the next set of plans ... I likd it ... honestly the scrap and ammo boxes are way bigger deals ... I remember the dark days of the launch when OCD hoarders like myself nearly had breakdowns trying to choose what weapon or resource to discard ...

I recall getting the cold shoulder for free, and the auto-axe. At least when they first came out. I have them both, so I see no issue with paying for them if you missed out, BUT I would prefer if they just gave out ALL the free crap to people who join later.
I got the auto ax during the season, but I actually kinda like that they did this because it is such a fun and a unique weapon to use

Any idea why they didnt put a time counter on it? Like how long do i have to get it, it doesnt say which is weird...want them for my lower level characters
If you've learned the plans for either weapon they were craftable atleast when they came from season, don't know about the people that grinded stamps for them but I'd assume the cost makes it an account wide plan aswell.
I don't see the big deal. It isn't like they are actual game altering weapons. I prefer my chainsaw to the auto axe (from the scoreboard) and it was free, and I never use my cold shoulder because I have a stash box full of superior weapons.
OK, if a Dev adds a thing, that incentivizes them to make the game worse in order to sell other things like it in the future, do you start to see the big deal? They are selling the problem (AKA the grind) and the solution. It’s unethical

Literally me but honestly I prefer this way. Now I don't have to shut my brain off and run 25 expeditions straight on multiple characters for multiple weapons lol

Reminds me of when they finally released the APC (tent) again, everyone and their mothers bought it only for the next season to have the enclave camper which made the APC IMO useless. I really hope they don't put the enclave camper on the atom shop....keep SOME things exclusive!
In Canada on XBox the bastards are charging 1000 Atoms. I watched this and went and looked it up hoping maybe they'd dropped the amount of Atoms needed. :(

I never got the auto axe but I had the Cold Shoulder for ages and made an Ash Williams type character. Lasted me for a long time, till I upgraded to the Crusader Pistol I got from Minerva.
I did see these, was also thinking that people are likely gonna get frustrated with it. Especially when the auto axe is such a grind to get via stamps

Yeah, i kinda understand I had to grind daily ops just to get the BOS Tactical outfit and mask, but if you got it from scoreboard the Cold Shoulder at least you get all the different paint variants that came with this legendary so, that’s a big plus
I dont understand the issue, when this is not a pvp game. who cares if someone wants to buy a item that will kill mobs faster, it doesn't effect anyone else game accept the purchasers and if they choose todo so then thats their chose

@@Badclamz83 Because the devs make the game worse, so people can justify buying those weapons. The auto axe is the strongest melee weapon in the game, and grinding for it takes a long time. Why do think it takes such a long time? So people give up and pay. The game becomes tedious, just for the sake of it.
Or just play the game 😂 and stop whining why would I give two fucks about another player getting something. If they wanna do that so what stop worrying about other players and just play the game most people forget what gaming is about and honestly I enjoy playing the game. I love the fallout games and I’ve played all of them not as much as 76 but I’m getting back into it I’m only around lvl 32 but people now ah days will bitch about anything so stop worrying about everyone else and just do you bruh 😂 plus it’s mostly PVE and you don’t have to worry about someone running up on you killing you.

tbh the only reason i bought the bundle was for the coffee maker, i couldnt find it being sold separately
Anything can be bought individually, just contact customer support and be sure you have the atoms on your account.

The fact you say "it atleast helps with the grind" means the grind is designed to push people to buy it.
Remember when you had the entire season to get the weapon, remember how you can still get the weapon for free?

They expect a bump in new players because of the TV show, they are sweetening the offerings in the Atomic Shop to get new players to pay more. With F76 on game pass, for Bethesda to make more on those players they either need to buy F1st or the season pass. For players who grind for status, this devalues their time. Sadly, grinding does not directly make Bethesda money, though they do need high numbers to justify maintaining the game. It’s a balance for the developers. That said, the new lore content for Atlantic City is tasty and I am looking forward to the map expansion. Thanks for the content, Rifle!
Still a 1000 Atoms in Canada. Can't believe they're using the difference in Canadian and US dollars % in the game where you can earn the atoms so it's not like real currency was being used. :(

As a player that has been here since day 1 there are a ton of pvp weapons that became available when they ditched that idea. Pay to win does not exist for this game
I wonder if Bethesda got rid of staff who made additional content that was going to be sold in the atom shop so they've had to resort to pulling some older scoreboard items to make up for the shortfall in sales in the Atomic Shop. Given that you now have monetization specialists involved, the atoms being removed after completing the scoreboard is probably another sign of them nickel and diming their player base. Reached level 100 on the scoreboard, got the items I wanted and without atoms to grind I have no more motivation to play other than camp building.

I'm totally against selling anything that isn't cosmetic in a game store but if like me where I don't have time to put a lot of time into a game because of work and other things then i can understand it. I can only get maybe 2 hours on a week day to play games so it could help people like me. I started playing Fallout 76 2 days ago so there is so much i have missed out on
Yeah, but that’s what they want right there. The entire system is built on FOMO. You shouldn’t have to choose between paying and playing. They designed the grind so they could sell you the solution to it.
I get it on both sides. But I think the one you can buy through the shop should not be the exact same you get through stamps. Because even doing in game things to get the atoms to buy it, not using any money. The effort isn't the same.

I grinded for the weps, but an even bigger looms in my mind, due to this by Bethesda:

Subscribed! , also, I'd like to point out that I too have been grinding in my free time to get stamps, and all I really wanted was that auto axe, and I finally have it.
Got both weapons when they were on other scoreboards for free, If you have the gold shoulder paint (1st item) you never have to repair the shotgun as it never takes damage (still not fixed).

Sometimes people don't have the time to grind for everything. Its nice to be able to drop money instead. Its still available by both time or money, is what is important. Its when it turns into everything good is behind a pay wall it gets bad.

I was happy to see the auto ax in the atom shop, I was in the process of grinding for the stamps and wasn't even halfway there, maybe 200 stamps in and was already bored with the whole grind.
I was in the exact same boat. I was at around 200 stamps and already stopped expeditions. i pretty much gave up on having the auto ax. now atom on the other hand I have a shit ton of because I don't care for most of the stuff they sell anyways. i either just get lunch box's with it or go to Bethesda and gift thing to my wife's account
i WOULD be annoyed too buuuuut i bought the game after hearing about the cold shoulder......i missed the season by 3 days. So since i can barely play it would take forever to get the gun. Thansk to fallout first giving me atoms i had enough for the gun
we all have things we do throughout the day and night that take our time but like everybody else before Bethesda put these in the Atoms we grinded for these items if they want to do anything they should make it less of a grind getting more stamps as an example per expedition lower the stamp prices for the items and so on so that you still have to play the game like everybody else did up to this point not just hand it to them because they have money

Not a new player to fallout but I am to fallout 76. I personally love it. Me and a bunch of friends picked it up on steam sale and it's nice to just casually see other players once awhile! Love your content, keep up the great work!
Now when other players see you with the Cold Shoulder or the Auto Axe, they may think you just bought them rather than the actual grind I took to get them.

Just got back into the game man and I'm loving it the p2w doesn't seem to really affect new much since it's just pve rn
This doesn't effect me much i enjoy expeditions i got 10,800 stamps and that's after i bought all the plans from the stamp vendor. I have all the stamp plans but i still run expeditions for the shear amount of legendarys and xp
The real issue with this game is caps, capping amount of script you earn, caps you can have, caps a vendor has, etc... i wanna he able to grind modules til my hearts content, by being able to turn in unlimited legendaries to the machine

Perhaps they could make stamp unlocks account wide or something. I suppose that *could* make these people happy (or probably not.) I got my auto axe from the scoreboard back in the day, but I rather use a chainsaw if I use a melee weapon, they are roughly equal, but the chainsaw does not take half my screen when playing in first person. The cold shoulder *is* a great support weapon. The best shotgun in the game, but then again, all the other shotguns suck more than Robco's latest model Vacumotron.
I recommended to Bethesda that instead of selling weapons in the atomic shop. They should give us a way to convert currency to stamps. Like gold bullion or Caps kinda like how we have Smiley for bullion.

I got the weapons off of the scoreboard but grinding stamps only to see the weapons in the atom shop is pretty disrespectful to the player base.

Just started playing after watching the series....... i was suprised at how much shite they try to sell in game. Sad to see from bethesda.
The more money olayers pay to companies the more this is gonna be a thing and get worse , i actually canceled my fallout 1st subscription and i wont encourage game companies to do this . I even started a new account on xbox and ps4 , which i did discover if i save my atoms from in game atom challenges i can buy the season pass without fallout 1st . With that said without fallout 1st and without atom challenges the season pass is only available by purchase. And soon i fear the atom shop as a whole will be heading this way . Until we as gamers as a whole stop giving game companies money , they will continue to do this and it will get worse . Me i refuse to be a part of the problem.
There should always be an option between paying, and earning in game . Thats why there isn't enough atoms on the season (without fallout 1st ) to buy the season pass its setup that way for a reason I've been saying it since the change , that's also why there isn't any new atom challenges or any new ways to earn atoms in game . If we were able to earn enough atoms on the season to buy the season pass then atleast we would have a choice to either buy season pass or buy bundles from the atomic shop , its also no coincidence that most bundles cost more atoms than you can earn . (Without fallout 1st or buying atoms ) this is just the beginning. And us gamers are the problem because we just keep opening our wallets more and more .

yeah i was irritated because i had grinded about 600-700 stamps in the pitt before they made the auto axe 500 took forever just for it to know cost 7$ and im happy for ppl who needed them but im just irritated at bethesda

As previous rewards, I don’t see what the big deal is. It always sucks coming in after the season with no real way to get past rewards. I am glad they are giving a way for those that missed out on past events to obtain them. I am not a fan of grinding as it leads to burn out and the reason I tend to stop playing after I finish a season. People should have expected this as soon as they started putting season stuff on the shop. I do believe that the stamp purchase should be account wide.
