  • Russ Gautier demonstrates several Cinema 4D techniques employed by Perception in the concept and main-on-end titles for Marvel’s Black Panther. Sand played a crucial role in the visual development of the movie, and Perception developed techniques using Cinema 4D’s procedural noises to create realistic, sparkling sand. A key aspect of the technique is layering multiple renders from Cinema 4D in After Effects, and Russ also shows how Cineware for After Effects can facilitate the look development. Another key visual element in the main-on-end titles was cymatic patterns, and Russ shows how Perception animated and transitioned between cymatic patterns using a custom Python script. Finally Russ demonstrates how R20 makes it possible to create the same effect much more easily using Fields and the Target Effector.

    Never knew I can use Cinema as a Power Point machine (like in the beginning). Great idea!!! Never seen this before but I like it very much!

    I know this is really late to the game but this is a technique I kind of need to do atm and I don't see anywhere to download orr copy this Python script. Any other place to get it?

    this is great but I don't get the workflow with After Effects? Couldn't you use the Interactive Render Region right inside C4D?

      he needed to use the colorama effect and the blending modes in AE

      i thought that was a way to get speedy renders and keep things flexible for comping and color lighting tweaks... worst place to be is having to do a whole new render just for some sparkles..

    with the viewport zoom set to 50% in AE, setting the resolution to Half should speed up the render process, right?

      Love this btw! Using C4D as a presentation tool is genius :D

    the glints need to be the same for both eyes? that's not how it works in the real world though

    • @randomcommenter6734

      it's not but, they did that just so it doesn't look bad

    • @Zolbat
      @Zolbat 4 роки тому

      @@randomcommenter6734 I'd say we're so used to surfaces like that having different highlights for both eyes, that it would look unrealistic if both eyes saw the same glints

    • @randomcommenter6734
      @randomcommenter6734 4 роки тому

      @@Zolbat yeah maybe, but from what I see they're not really looking for realism, it is very stylized

    Este señor, no hizo NADA !
    Del 100% del vídeo, se la pasó hablando tonterías un 85% y de acción y de hacer los efectos menos de un 10%.... bla, bla, bla... no le vi nada a este vídeo. Pareciera como si estuviera improvisando al asar.
