Have you tried MDMA? Or MDMA therapy?
Absolutely. Multiple times. Most recently... probably about 7 or 8 years ago. 😅

Mdma therapy cured my depression even during a spell of homelessness and an untreated autoimmune disease, stayed un-depressed for 3 whole years. God i should really do that again
Just for further information, the LA Times has an obituary from 2014 entitled: "Alexander Shulgin, chemist behind MDMA, dies at 88"
Based on his authorship of two synthesis manuals full of such compounds, I'm pretty sure Shulgin was the "mad man in the mountains" Luke was talking about. The Wikipedia article calls him the "Godfather of Psychedelics."

if you want more info on the chemistry side, hamilton morris’ podcast episode in which he interviews someone who made a lotttt of mda and mdma back in the 80s (?). very interesting.

To the question, yes many years ago and yes, if it were available where I am. I've had some of the best experiences in my life with it and could definitely see it having some value with regards to my mental health. However, I have found that a few days after having it in my system, I would tend to get extremely depressed, though that could have to do with the fact that dosage, environment and activities were not intended to be therapeutic, at least not in the traditional sense of the word 😅
*Edit: I have also had some absolutely awful experiences while under the influence. But there were more good experiences than bad ones.

on the topic of harmful things they put on pills, in Spain we had a huge problem for a while with a batch that was cut with grinded glass, you can imagine how well that goes as it travels down your body

Tried e once about 20 years ago and absolutely hated it. It was in pill form though so who knows what was in it. It made me swear off uppers forever.
I haven't tried MDMA, but I do have a medical condition where ketamine infusions is a treatment option....for me it was not a great experience as basically I loose all control of my muscles locking me in place and my vision shutters like an old camera lens combined with an old TV like fuzzy quality that is reminiscent of horror films......no clue why anyone would take it for fun.
