@Kansasforlife Yes it is. I just listened to the track on the train and wanted to see him playing, that's how I got to this vid. I think its (like ocean) 100% the same. It's on the 3rd disc which is NOT recorded at the show in St. Gallen (I'm from St. Gallen) but from the Max Sessions in sydney. Cheers
@Kansasforlife Well in this case we were talking bout 2 different versions. On live at St. Gallen there are 2 versions: one from st. gallen and one from the max sessions on the DVD. So obviously a little misunerstanding. =) But good news: we were both right =) and you even a little more than me =)
@EggerPhilipp I know, they sound very similar, but it's not the same version. You can trust me on that, I've listened to the St. Gallen performance for about 20 times and just compared them again. On the St. Gallen version you can hear the crowd cheering at the beginning of the song, but here it's complete silence ;-)
@Kansasforlife You can trust me too =). Well you're right with the audience BUT the song hast exactly the same lenghts, comments, beginning and details. The audience is the only difference. And I'm pretty sure that's all just a question of the mix. For the audience there are usually special mics. So in this vid the mix may be little different but its still the same "version"
@EggerPhilipp Comments? Details? I don't really know what you're talking about... Whatever, maybe you have a different version of Zebra on your CD/download, because this performance is definitely NOT the one from Live at St. Gallen. Another difference is that this one has a completely different guitar solo than the one I have. You must have a different version of the album... Which length does your recording of the song have exactly? I've got 4:37 minutes...
genius song! Plus he's not too shabby to look at!
Best acoustic guitar player out there hands down. Just astonishing.
i love how he mixes so many genres into one. unreal!
Fairly certain this is the best version of this song, and it rocks

i call it virtuosic acoustic southern reggae jam. I think that comes close to doing it justice.
Can't contain himself. Starts out barely humming the hook. By the end of the song he is going all in. Gotta love JB's passion.

The studio version has a different intro, they went straight into the first verse.
On "Live at St. Gallen" album is a other version of Zebra.

@lunacy135 I would pay a lot to see John Butler and Newton Faulkner play a show.
