हमेशा की तरह फिल्म काला पत्थर की अनसुनी बातें बहुत मजेदार रहीं
वैसे एक दिलचस्प बात यह है कि हादसों पर आधारित दोंनो चोपड़ा भाइयों की फिल्म दर्शकों की अपेक्षाओं पर खरी नहीं उतर सकी 79 में काला पत्थर तो 1980 में बी आर के निर्देशन में बनी मंहगी फिल्म" द बर्निंग ट्रेन "भी बमुश्किल अपनी लागत पूरी कर सकी, दोंनो फिल्मों के स्पैशल इफेक्ट्स विदेशी तकनीशियन की मदद सै शूट हुए थे। दोंनो फिल्मों का बजट बहुत बड़ा था ।
हाँ काला पत्थर का संगीत बेहद कर्ण प्रिय था ,जूनियर रौशन साहब की दूसरा आदमी के बाद इस फिल्म के गीत भी बहुत शानदार थे । उस समय की फिल्म सुहाग की अपेक्षा काला पत्थर मुझे अधिक पसंद आई थी ,सुहाग तो बंबईया फार्मूलों से भरपूर औसत दर्जे की फिल्म थी । पर जनता का निर्णय सर्वोपरि होता है।
बहरहाल आपका बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद करता हूँ जो आपने काला पत्थर के अनसुने तथ्यों से हमें अवगत कराया।

Thank you so much for making a special episode about Kaala Patthar. It is indeed a cult film today. I just watched this film on Amazon Prime about 2 months ago. Although I feel that it was still a major commercial film with big starcast, big banner and it had action scenes too it still didnt succeed to bring masaes to the theaters. Surprisingly, all the action scenes were with the side villain and not the main villain. Only few confrontation scenes with main villain prem chopra. One of AB's best films. Shatrughan sinha indeed steal the show in the climax and he had the best dialogues in the film which remained with his identity forever like Is khel ke Teesre Baadshah Hum Hai and the other dialogues mentioned in this episode. I felt bad that his character died in the climax but I guess it was required to show his character's redemption. Also the best scenes were between amitabh bachchan and shatrughan sinha's rivalry and how they always remained equal in all their clashes. Shashi Kapoor as usual was great with his charming screen presence as a sophisticated gentleman with most songs picturized on him. Amitabh Bachchan as angry young man who lost and tried to get back his lost image and glory and Shatrughan sinha as anti hero turned hero. All three female leads Rakhee, Parveen and Neetu singh were good in their roles. I love all the songs of this film. It's definitely a must watch film.

Rightly said by rakesh ji that audience didn't connected with one character and drama...one more reason why film was average success in 1979 was that it came post Amar Akbar Anthony...Don ...and Muqaddar ka Sikandar...1977 and 1978 made Amitabh a mass star...he was no longer accepted as angry young man(trishul was last and its success was it's drama..the connect which rakesh ji highlighted) ...people want to see him entertaining by doing all stuff..comedy..songs ...r

लाजवाब episode....राकेश जी ! 👌👌👌👌 आपकी मेहनत की जितनी तारीफ की जाए, कम है ! सच्चे incident से प्रेरित जितनी भी फिल्में हैं, उन सबमें 'काला पत्थर' ही सबसे बेहतरीन movie है ! बेशक फ़िल्म का collection कुछ भी क्यूँ न रहा हो, मगर फ़िल्म हर लिहाज से masterpiece है ! मैनें आजतक किसी भी critic को इस फ़िल्म के बारे में आलोचना करते नहीं सुना ! 'दीवार' और 'त्रिशूल' की ही तरह इस फ़िल्म का direction भी upper level का है ! इस फ़िल्म के अलावा Coal mines पे आधारित जितनी भी फिल्में हैं, सभी flop हुई हैं ! ये फ़िल्म अगर over-budget न होती, तो जरूर ये भी distributers को अच्छा-खासा मुनाफा देती !

While there may be truths in the "facts" as described in this video, I am surprised that no one ever noticed that the story of Kaala Patthar is entirely a duplicate of the WIlbur Smith 1970 Novel "Goldmine" (Also a movie made in 1974 "Gold" Starring Roger Moore and Susannah York).
The almost exact character description and the part Shatrughan Sinha plays is that of Big King Nkulu (if memory serves me right on the name), a person wanted for murder, and on the run, who takes refuge in the gold mines and signs on as a worker. Like Shatrughan, he has a lot of swagger, a doomed romance, and like Shatrughan, for whom the police is waiting to take him into custody, Big King Nkulu dies, basically sacrificing himself and dying a heroic death rather than being arrested and sentenced to death-exactly as in Kaala Patthar, in the novel Gold, Police have finally tracked Big King Nkulu to the Sonderditch Gold Mine . The part played by Shashi Kapoor is based partly on Rodney Slater (Roger Moore in the movie), who signs on as General manager for a crooked Boss, who tries to resist digging into a tunnel beyond which lies millions of tonnes of water, which later crash into the tunnel leading to the disaster.
Wilbur Smith's Goldmine novel was based on a real life Goldmine disaster near Johannesburg. Smith while preparing for his book actually worked in a Goldmine to learn about how they function. I have no idea if Mr. Amitabh Bachan actually worked in a coal mine, but, somehow, the parallels are difficult to ignore.
Parts of Rod Slater's roles are moved to Amitabh, especially his role in saving as many workers as possible and evacuating the tunnel.
I think Salim-Javed incorporated aspects of the Gold Movie and book and altered bits and parts to fit into Indian scheme of things, society, life, and since there were no viable Gold mines in India at that time, the two of them altered the story to fit into the Chasnala disaster. Sure, the Script-writing duo gave us some amazing movies, but, they were also alleged to have often created fables and distorting facts of how they got their ideas.

Episode was good but can't say about this film. Music and Amitabh angryman performance were only two reasons where film was watchable otherwise nothing special. I thing the climax of the film ruined the film as it was long and boring.
