Qurbani was actually made having Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role, as most of Amitabh's love films were not doing so well, yet Amitabh rejected the role without a reason. Again, Feroz Khan asked Amitabh to play a lead role in his another film, once again, Amitabh turned it down. That film was once again completed by Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit, and was a major hit. Feroz Khan was an actor, producer, director, screenwriter who, most actors were approached, whose love films failed, yet in Feroz Khan films they were very successful. In the end, Feroz Khan approached Vinod Khanna to take the lead role in Qurbani, and the film was a major hit, with both Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna becoming very good friends. They started in Shankar Shambhu, Qurbani and a few others. Shakti Kapoor became famous in this villian role in Qurbani

No doubt, Feroz Khan is one of the finest filmmakers in the industry. His specialty, in his films, was always to play 2nd lead character in a pivotal role. Qurbani, Dayawaan, Jaanbaaz, and Yalgaar are few of the films that still fresh to this date. One cool thing to note, he always had a lead character kill in the end. I guess, thats his style and touch to balance the script.

My grand father was a closefriend of feroz khan, back in those days he approached my grandfather to come to Mumbai along with him, yet my grandfather decided to stay back in Bangalore but my grandfather changed his to feroz khan as well ❤

Akash, two of actors you mentioned are notorious for coming late to sets. Amitabh used to wait for hours and hours on set waiting for Vinod Khanna to arrive on days they had shared screen space. He eventually got tired and used to request the producers to cast Shashi Kapoor even in action roles like in Shaan. Shatrughan Sinha, Rajesh Khanna came late to sets as well, infact Rajesh Khanna scolded Amitabh for coming on time and making him look bad during Anand.
I don’t know about the discipline of Feroze khan and Dharmendra. They were both heavy drinkers though.
