Excellent video. The only surprise is how come BRC allowed Rafi Sahab as singer as he was always against Rafi Sahab. Very good film with innovative subject even if the idea is taken from western movie. Salute to all who put their best efforts. I never miss videos by Rakesh Sadeo.

Can’t believe classics the burning train and Shaan in 1980 underperformed at the box office. Both films were so good with a great plot and music. Danny was really good as a villain.

Same here too but nowadays the channels don't show full movie. They telecast edited movie. Even they removed Teri hai zameen song and Asrani scenes when I watched last time on TV.. they truncated all the songs including pal do pal ka.. so we feel sad...

THIS was my first movie which I saw more than once.
Film was ahead of it's time. Us samay iske banane mein lage efforts ko appreciate nahi kiya gaya, aur bhi reasons ho sakta hai. Train rescue ka scenes us samay kisi technology ke hisab se ultimate hai. Great work ravi chopra.

To compare the stalwarts music directors of hindi cinema is a blasphemy...u can't say SD is better than SJ or LP is better than RD...(personal liking is another thinng)..but in my opinion RD scores above all in terms of Range...and burning train album proves this...

Interesting information. It was the period of Disaster Movies. The Towering Inferno and Poseidon Adventure ran for several weeks in Bombay. I never watched The Burning Train. Did not get very good reports. The disaster movie in Hindi turned out to be a disaster. I was curious to know the unheard-of facts about the movie. Happy to hear about RD's great musical efforts. I am only familiar with the Qawwali. Thanks for your video blog.

I think Indians were a bit overwhelmed by the massive starcast. The length was too long.
The disaster film genre has never been successful in India. Like Kedarnath.

Lajawaab prastutikaran!!! The burning train was ahead of its time. The screenplay was good and action also was good but maybe the story could have been executed better. This was the first time we saw both dharmendra and vinod khanna together as 2 heroes if I am not wrong. Before in their previous films mera gaon mera desh, rakhwala and patthar aur payal, one was the hero and one was the villain. Jeetendra played a third lead opposite dharmendra and vinod khanna was a big surprise considering that he was an established actor from 60s. His role was shockingly not as significant as dharmendra and vinod khanna. But he did well in his role as the thief. I personally loved both songs pehli nazar mein and the qawaali pal do pal ka saath humara. They both are still popular. Vinod Mehra and Navin Nishchal though popular actors of early 70s got sidelined completely. Danny was good as villain. All three heroines hema, parveen and neetu did well in their parts. Overall a definitely an enjoyable underrated film of early 80s. Thank you so much, Rakesh Bhai !!! 🙏 ❤
Very well written in detail.. jitendra was good in the beginning of his career but Rajesh Khanna destroyed him.. jitendra himself told this.. again he started doing better after nagin and dharam veer..it was not surprising he played third lead because the film started around the end of 1976 of somewhere in 1977...jitu become much better after 1980.. became really big after 1983 himmatwala... Navin nischal was not in good position he lost his game quite early..the burning train was a big effort but bad script...👍👍🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
@rakeshsadeo I agree. Even vinod mehra also didn't get the position he deserved. I think he was a good actor but maybe he lacked the star value hence he only got supporting roles. Naveen nishchal had ego problems and refused some great scripts like deewar and roti kapda aur makaan in both of which he was offered shashi kapoor's roles, had he not refused those films he would have been in much better position.

हमेशा की तरह लाजवाब episode.....और बेहद असरदार narration....राकेश जी ! 👌👌👌👌👍👍 जितनी तारीफ की जाए, कम है ! फ़िल्म के लिए रवि चोपड़ा का effort कमाल का था ! limited resources में इस तरह का different work निस्संदेह काबिले तारीफ है ! पता नहीं, दर्शकों को ये क्यूँ नहीं attract कर पाई....?? बिल्कुल hollywood स्टाइल की और अपने वक़्त से कहीं आगे की फ़िल्म है ये...! रवि चोपड़ा ने अपने पूरे career में 4-5 प्रोजेक्ट पर ही काम किया होगा..., मगर दर्शकों को केवल 'महाभारत' serial और बहुत बाद में आई 'बाग़बान' ही लुभा सकी !

Koi bhi film ko ban ne me jab 4 saal lag jaate hain to wo over budget ho hi jaati hai. Raj Tilak B. R. Chopra ke damaad the ye baat bhi aaj hi pata chali.

Quite Possibly NO ONE may have realised that this film was made JUST AT RIGHT TIME on grounds of technology ; Little into past were days of steam engine & Little later were days of electric engine ; Both are MUCH EASIER TO STOP , If Train burns & STARTS RUNNING OUT OF CONTROL ; Only with DIESEL ENGINE the film seemed LOGICAL

Although technically very slick and a lot of efforts has been put to make this film, but it did not yield the desired returns. Reasons are many but the main reason can be attributed to its flawed script. The script is studded with factual errors some of which I am listing here 1) Danny tampers with the brakes at Mathura station but the train is shown to stop at the next station (Probably Bharatpur) where Dharmendra gate crashes in a motorbike and manages to cling on the guard coach just as the train pulls out. How is it possible to stop the train when its brakes are dysfunctional. 2) Vinod Khanna instructs over the radio to reach the locomotive via the roof top when the entire train was vestibuled. Dharmendra, Jeetendra and Dinesh Thakur could have easily reached the generator van through the vestibule without risking their lives. 3) The station staff at Nagda notices that the driver has not acknowledged the proceed signal. This irregularity should have been noticed at the very next passing station, but it was detected after the train has travelled some 250 KMS. 4) On reaching the locomotive, Vinod Khanna realizes that all controls of the locomotive has failed. However the train could still be brought under control just by switching off the electric supply to the motors. 5) Now this is the height of absurdity.... Vinod Mehra suggests to construct a mile long incline to retard the runaway train and then blast off the couplings connecting the locomotive with the rest off the train when the speed of the train reduces due to the incline. Now every Railway construction engineer will know that to construct an incline will take minimum one month for the earthwork alone. The idea of diverting the train up an incline was a sound one but the implementation was flawed. The logical step would have been to divert the train from Vasai Road towards Kalyan and then allowed to proceed towards Igatpuri or Pune. Now every Mumbaikar travelling out of Bombay is aware that natural steep gradients are present between Kasara-Igatpuri and Karjat-Lonavala. section. Two locos called bankers are attached at the rear of every out bound trains at Kasara and Karjat respectively to negotiate the steep gradients of the western ghats. These bankers are detached at Igatpuri and Lonavala respectively. Had the train been diverted to any of these routes, it would have automatically slowed down due to the inclines and at an appropriate moment, the couplings could have been blasted off causing minimal damage. These are my two cents.

Danny came in helicopter but vinod Khanna using rope to reach this train from other.. not using ladder type structure to enter into train door from other train.... jitendra not connected to story was over worried when VK says train won't stop..there are many illogical turning comical points..👍👍👍👍

It was picturised on Padma Khanna. Jab Dharmendra ke father expire ho jate hai aur unka sab kuch nilam ho jata hai tab unko Padma Khanna ke kothe pe jate hue dikhaya jata hai aur woh drink karte hai tab yeh gaana aata tha. Maine dusri baar dusre hi week me fir se movie dekhi tab yeh gana movie se nikal diya gaya tha.
Film me ek aur song hai jisko aapne mention nahi kiya hai jo Dharmendra aur Hema Malini pe Mysore ke Vrindavan gardena me filmaya gaya tha woh tha "Waada, haan ji wada.."
Ab mai batata hu ki yeh gana jab maine first week me first time movie dekhi tab movie me nahi tha aur Padma khanna wala "kisi ke waade pe" song tha. jab dusri baar 2nd week me dekhi tab yeh gana hataya gaya tha aur "wada haanji wada" song include Kiya gaya tha.. is ke piche ke reason pata nahi but I am very much sure I have seen both the versions. TV me aur UA-cam versions me "waada haan wada" song hai aur " kisi ke waade pe" song ab kidhar bhi nahi hai. You can see Padma Khanna name in credit titles as well at 0:56. I am 54 now and that time I was 10. Myself and my cousin were very much impressed with this movie and music that we watched thrice in just 2 weeks.

Thank you very much Rakesh ji for completing our request and making an episode of this movie. Likewise previous episodes, research and facts you brought out is absolutely spot on. Though B.R. Chopra made this movie thinking he made another Sholy but it was a disaster. Even if Jeetendra was not in the film, it would not have made any difference to the story of the film. His role seems forced and had nothing to do with the story. Songs were okay but the screenplay was very poor and the audience left the hall midway.
Nevertheless your show was superhit

I saw this movie in 1980 itself when I was 10 years old at Maratha Mandir in Mumbai. The stereo sound was unbearably loud.

@@rakeshsadeo no. It was a special effect sound that was made for 70 mm movie. And I was sitting next to the sound source.
That is fine but if sound equipment of is not systematically arranged it disturbs especially sitting close to any wall..it is not fault of mixing by film technicians 👍👍

It pictured the entire train lengthwise and the poster covered the entire length of the theatre building. It was advertised to use soft cotton in ears to protect ears from a loud stereo sound. Maratha Mandir was a technically sophisticated theatre 40 years back.
