    Good video!
I have two breeding couples and an additional male, they're hybrids between Texas mavortium and eastern tigrinum plus a pure barred which is huge.
If I can suggest something, I'd use peat and sphagnum moss substrate without coconut husk. A bigger water bowl and having more space in general could help.

The blotched salamander goes much further north than your map indicates. I live north of Edmonton in northern Alberta. ( just East of Fort Saskatchewan) and we find the tiger salamander in our area and are quite common. They grow much larger than the six to eight inch range you mentioned. They will grow to 12 to 14 inches.Showing results for tiger salamander
Size. Thick-bodied amphibians with short snouts, sturdy legs, and long tails, tigers are the largest land-dwelling salamander on Earth. They can grow to 14 inches in length, but the average size is more like .

Noted. I did notice that the map I found (the most complete I could find) did have some taxonomy inconsistencies. Makes me wonder if they considered it a separate species when they made it

Very informative thank you! Me and my husband live in canon city Colorado and we caught our tiger salamander in a run off puddle! Literally on the sidewalk! There was tons of those little “mud puppy’s” swimming around! We were actually tadpole hunting and came across him. We thought he was just a giant tadpole, BUTTT once we got home we noticed he was extremely different. The gills looking just like an Axolotl. We thought he was a Axolotl until we asked our local pet store.
About a month later now and he’s got beautiful black and yellow markings and is on land!

The tiger salamander (or any mole salamander) is one the best amphibians you can keep. They are not aggressive, not fussy eaters and fairly low maintenance. They will happily burrow into the damp substrate or sit in their water dish. The blotched tiger salamander is the largest mole salamander growing up to 15 inches in length (9-12 more common, larger in captivity as they eat more) but the barred tiger salamander (that you have in this video) is the most striking with it's yellow skin patterns. The axolotl, a mole salamander that rarely morphs is a very popular pet amphibian.

how would you recommend introducing two tiger sals? i have one already that’s settled, but i recently got another about a month ago that i’ve been quarantining that i wanted to put in a tank with the other. i don’t know how to go about doing that, though. do you have any advice?

Theoretically as long as they’re about the same size and the cage is plenty big enough, you could add it whenever
