I worked for a charity shop."Free" if you don't factor in the store's rent, the paid employees, the cost of managing volunteers, processing donations where people "donate" their dirty, worn and sometimes peed on and pooped in clothes and home goods. The time that takes in addition to processing the "donations" to tagging items, placing them in the store, organizing them, ringing them up and the cost of cash registers etc and the enormous cost of having someone to remove the shocking amount of trash people "donate" because they're lazy and want to get a tax credit and feel smugly that they've given to charity. Volunteers thought that was heavy handed until someone stole the picture and then they removed the dressing room altogether. Charity shops pay all of what retail stores do except for their merchandise most of which as it's "donated" is unusable. In fact, shoplifting from a charity seems even more low and mean.
@@empressqi1722 Then why don't you get a marketable skill & increase your earning potential? Having a criminal record for petty theft isn't going to make your life any better.
Anna Biela - Yes, and it would be so much cheaper to just pay for a replacement, and get on with important work. It saves work for an attorney, a court, police, and even for the shop owner.
Shop lifters think they're not hurting anyone with their stealing, but they're hurting everyone because the stores have to raise their prices to cover the loses. I can understand someone shop lifting out of desperation, that doesn't make it right, but I can understand it. But those who choose that as a way of life is another story. They need to revert back to medieval times, the first time they chop off one finger, the second time, two fingers, and so on a so forth. That's what they should do to the professionals who make a living at shop lifting. They also need to increase jail time and the amount of fines for the crime.
I'm not sure about UK law, but in most states and provinces of the US and Canada, store managers are permitted to detain shoplifters until the cops arrive.
The police officers would be build ten prisons with a minimum six month sentence. It cost $38,000 pound to keep a person in prison per year. The government would have to raise taxes which would cause more unemployment and crime.
The store with no budget for cameras is losing money for no reason. A cheap 8 camera system can be had for $500-1000. You will recover that quickly with the extra arrests and you will have evidence on video.
It's sad that his whole purpose in life is to catch shoplifters and if the sentence was death he wouldnt give a family member a pass. How can he be so passionate that his whole existence revolves around it.

I don't get that trick of the identical bag? They see someone walk in with the same bag and a different guy walking out with the same bag? How does that not arouse suspicion?
It seems as if the LPs are happier if there are shoplifters than if there wasn’t any at all. I thought these places didn’t want shoplifters for obvious reasons. Apparently they’re happier if the crime is committed than if there was no crime at all. Rather odd and contradictory.

John, that LPO was not good at all, and he is a nightmare waiting to happen. You could have sue him and the store for coming at you at accusing you or even express his suspicion in regards to a shoplifting activity. The law indicates that an LPO has the obligation to keep you in his sight AT ALL TIMES from the time you picked up the item. If he lost sight of you even for few seconds he is not allowed to pursue with the mater, exactly for the reason you just described. In those few seconds you placed back the object, and that could led to false arrest, defamation, emotional distress, etc. If the suspected shoplifter it happens to be a visible minority,, ,, the damage can be even bigger. If following the false arrest injuries have occurred as result of being forcefully detained and/or placed in handcuffs, and/or the suspect was in impossibility to take his/her medication, the store's nightmare begins.....you got the picture

I don’t think it’s right but in this world you have T.V. Radio and endless entertainment show to be in style by wearing the expensive stuff that the average person cannot afford and like most you want to fit in it’s really hard not to feel tempted
They are right, shoplifting isnt murder but then murder doesnt drive up the cost of goods we spend money on every day. Shoplifters affect the lives of everyday people way more than murderers do. Friend of mine used to ride to work with me and he was so bad about stealing I wouldnt let him walk in a store when he rode with me. Here in GA you can be sitting in the car having never walked in the store, the person riding with you can steal some thing and you both get arrested. I dont know if the charges will stick but I still dont want to be arrested for some BS like that.
She stole. It's against the law. You have no idea if this lady has been doing this her whole life. I saw a program about a sweet looking little old lady who had been in prison for being a coke dealer and who had been a crack head for 16 years after. Age doesn't wash away one's sins
Dress casually, regular pants, t shirt, nothing with recognizable logos. Look clean but the save the suit for a job interview or a wedding, you are not a bond villian and the goal is to be the most non descriptive as possible. Fancy clothes draw attention which is the opposite of what you want. Be confident and have the entitled demeanor of any paying customer, you can’t be fidgety, nervous, paranoid, or constantly looking over your shoulder. Don’t wear sunglasses inside, or a mask, or a forward facing hat, all of these put up red flags. Grow a beard and do your lifting, after shave it off, get a new haircut etc. Know what you want and where it is don’t be a wanderer or looking around like you are lost. Also check the tags on each item you look at, most people cannot just shop while ignoring the price. Make ur move quickly and decisively, once the items are concealed there’s no going back, don’t run to the exit continue to pretend to shop and before exiting look around one more time seeming annoyed, workers will think you couldn’t find what you wanted hence why you are leaving empty handed and somewhat upset. Don’t immediately start wearing new clothes or showing off new gadgets, that’s how you arise the suspicion of people around you, for instance if you loot the same area and are seen walking in said area with a brand new pair of shoes, shirt, and pants, some wannabe hero might be driving home from work or going out on lunch break and spot you. Never allow LP to detain you unless you have no other choice and during the walk to the office plan your Oscar worthy performance proclaiming your guilt and regret. If you have the money offer to pay for the items agree to never return. Never give LP attitude always be nice. Lastly be wary of how much you steal in one go, over a certain amount upgrades the severity of the potential punishment, and if you can’t fathom dealing with the consequences of your actions don’t do it. The only way to be confident doing these deeds is by being content with the risk. Happy borrowing. I don’t condone stealing but also don’t care if you, and I’d you do I hope you don’t get caught and have fun.
i shoplifted because i needed things my parents did not allow me to get and since i did not have any money after it i became a better person inside i learned that even if you have everything in the world you are not well off

If following the false arrest injuries have occurred as result of being forcefully detained and/or placed in handcuffs, and/or the suspect was in impossibility to take his/her medication, the store's nightmare begins.....you got the picture
In my country thieves can get public execution or removal of a hand...you can put cash on a sidewalk and people will walk around it...lucky they live where the laws are so lax
180hrs community service for theift of $2000, bet she will never thief again.
What a slap on the wrist, bet she ends up working at a salvos store and pinches stuff left right and centre.
I know it's wrong to steal, but his huge enjoyment of the job he does, the security man with the shaved head is utterly repulsive.
These people need to be at sea and in the mines, or building things... though Thatcher put a stop to that.
I don’t think it’s right but in this world you have T.V. Radio and endless entertainment show to be in style by wearing the expensive stuff that the average person cannot afford and like most you want to fit in it’s really hard not to feel tempted
The man wearing the vest looks like Dan Aykroyd I think lol
Gosh is Boyes still going. growing up in the north east Boyes was like an Aladdin's cave of toys.
Robocop??? Give me a break! Looking for attention, focusing on easy pickers?? Focus on real crime bro...
It gives him a false sense of mission and accomplishment.
Steal a loaf of bread, they'll cut off your hands. Steal a mountain, they'll make you a king.
Arresting a grandma should be a crime

We're in the iron and steel business . She doe's the ironing , I do the stealing !
Sheeeeit all I wanted was a chocolate bar :3
$200 sunglasses made for $20
what are we coming to? scared poor old 78 year old woman , she stole 20 pounds god damn it . obviously she needed it.why you cruelly treating elderly.
She stole. It's against the law. You have no idea if this lady has been doing this her whole life. I saw a program about a sweet looking little old lady who had been in prison for being a coke dealer and who had been a crack head for 16 years after. Age doesn't wash away one's sins
At about 12:45, what was that blue thing above their heads? I've never seen that before in England.
Now I know what it was...it was the sky!
Looks like they are not tough enough they should get jail time (6 months plus) for 3 Rd time offenders
Are there any dentists in the UK?
Yes, they convince you to have treatment you dont need and fill your teeth with mercury. People avoid going to dentists.
Some of them WPC's make me want to become a shoplifter!!!
i shoplifted because i needed things my parents did not allow me to get and since i did not have any money after it i became a better person inside i learned that even if you have everything in the world you are not well off
that's his specialty. other people get the larger criminals.
detectives acting like children
Make the fine double the value of items total. 80 quid minimum.
how can people go on tv saying theyre doing something illegal and will continue to do this , showing where they do it and showing their faces, names, taktics, voice etc? that will be the end of their criminal carrer.. dump logic.
Those are just actors for the real robbers in jail
A bank manager stealing,.well that sums up why are money has gone!!
I would not have gave them those car keys.
every country need a 'Make Criminals Get Jobs Act'. penalties for shop theft are made so high that it won't happen.
i hope they didn't put those Ray bans from his as* back for others to try on ewwwww
This is a crackup! Really, is England really this funny. So "civilized" compared to the states handling of things of this nature...and no guns.
Bravo you....rr
Guns are good.
Just because you've been brainwashed by fear porn dosen't mean people shouldn't have firearms.
@@pewpewTN When I lived in the US, I hunted with a bolt action rifle not an AK-14, wore a Ruger Single-Six on my hip for rattlesnakes but what I see from Europe and on friend's FB Pages is saddening. Glad to live in Europe the last 35 years...Good Luck...
@@rick91443 Yea, I'm glad you have been in Europe for 35 years, too.
We have enough low T cucks as it is.
A culture that bans firearms even for shopkeepers is reaping it's karma.
I was under the impression that the UK and especially London were quite literally saturated with CCTV cameras just... everywhere, like some Orwellian nightmare. I wondered how someone could even think of getting away with anything... then I remembered the sham of a legal system they have where even murderers get a smack on the wrist and sent on their merry way. Now don't get me wrong, my country's legal system is abhorrent and I don't deny this, but you'd think there would be a happy medium somewhere in between the death penalty and "Oh, you brutally murdered someone? We'll sentence you to 5 years but you only have to serve 3... that sound fair?"
