It's true. "Making stuff with your hands" IS satisfying. My sister quilts, I make greeting cards. Both fun creative outlets. I would love to live in a society where people are polite. Thanks for taking us along!
I live in Tokyo and visit the "Fabric Town" several times a year. We love living in Tokyo as it has all the interesting things of living in a city but without the violence, drugs and crime. It's safe at night, even for children and women alone. I'm so glad you got to come to my home turf. To be honest it was weird watching my homemaker UA-cam friend walking around my neighborhood.
Wow! We definitely felt how safe it was there! Couldn't believe how many little kids we saw exploring the city alone, which was so refreshing and sweet. 🥰 we want to come back, so if you have any recommendations, I'm all ears!!
I used to feel that way about January and February and March. Years ago I decided to throw a “winter blues “ party every February for me and my friends. It’s become a tradition! We’ve done bunco, a favorite things party, and just a movie night. It’s a cheery spot in the dead of winter ❤ Now I love winter and look forward to its coziness and slowness. I don’t know if it because I have multiple kids and homeschool and we are always so stinking busy or what? But I love the cozy feeling of nothing to do in the winter after Christmas haha My goal for this year is simply to find time to just hibernate 🐻 that’s my goal haha
Thank you for taking us along. I particularly liked the fact that you took us to restaurants and showed us the streets through your eyes. So interesting! We travel a lot but have never been to Japan. It’s halfway across the world for us - watching from France - but your experience might just entice me.
Oh my goodness, I had to double check the video because your voice sounded exactly like your sister Lisa’s! I mean, duh, you are sisters but still, that raspy soothing voice , music to the ears, be blessed my dear.
When I was growing up, my dad was in the Air Force and we spent 3 years on Okinawa. It was very interesting and fun, the food was delicious! We were able to host Japanese exchange students in our home and got to learn from them how to cook some of our favorite dishes. A wonderful experience that so many never get.
My husband and I both are not a fan of traveling to places that has a lot of people. It's a sensory thing, it feels overwhelming. BUT THAT FOOD, I'd definitely LOVE to try all that food. It looked delicious. I hate polyester, I'd love to visit a shop like that, that has mostly cotton materials.
I have a friend who lived in Japan for a significant number of years. He would love to move back permanently. He said the culture here in Canada is much more aggressive and competitive. I find our Canadian culture the same way. It really makes me want to travel to Japan and experience the difference.
So glad you got to experience Tokyo. I loved on Japan for 3 years back in the mid-90’s. It was such a wonderful experience. Seeing this video brought back so many memories, thank you for sharing it!
A friend of mine who lived there a long time ago, told me how to say Tokyo properly and you did for a Midwestern like us it’s hard to not give it three syllables 😂😂😂
That fabric store may have had me drooling a little 😆 I really enjoyed you showing us the trip and I'd love it if you make the savory style pancake and show us your version 🧡
Years ago, my brother taught English for a few months in Japan through a Christian organization so I have a pretty vase and some coins he brought back for me.
Such a wonderful trip! I watch a couple of videos that are based in Tokyo that share cooking and shopping that are well done and I really enjoy. They are Linna in Japan and Nami.
I wholeheartedly agree with you about winter! I absolutely adore the Christmas season, especially leading up to it, but afterwards, it’s ho hum! Also, when you got the abundance of peppers and other veggies, I was wondering if you were going to make fajitas. Enjoyed your vlog as usual.
I forgot to add, I went to Tokyo back in 2017, absolutely fell in love with Tokyo! Everything to the gardens, how clean everything was, even the public toilets! Loved how they have every conceivable drinks vending machines on almost every street corner! Like you said was the food and just how fresh it was! I absolutely fell in love ( of all things ), was there fried chicken and cakes. Thank you for sharing your experience with me!
What a fun trip! i would be leery to try the new foods. I'm not very adventurous in that way. My hubby went to Japan, probably 15 years go. He noticed everyone was in black or white. Did you feel like you stood out, with your colorful skirt? He is also 6' 2", and was a lot taller than the Japanese.
Oh that's funny! We didn't notice that, so I didn't feel out of place! We did notice that everyone is so stylish there - much more dressed up than I've noticed in NYC/other major cities!
We stayed in Shinjuku. The city is so massive that I don't feel at all knowledgeable enough to give recommendations haha. Our cooking class was at Tokyo Cooking Studio and was just wonderful! I definitely recommend that.
Please don’t make that judgement based on leisure travel. Get a job with a Japanese company in your country and you will discover that there are many differences.

Greeting cards! What a fun thing to make! I bet they are beautiful!

It was crowded to us small towners!
I have a friend who lived in Japan for a significant number of years. He would love to move back permanently. He said the culture here in Canada is much more aggressive and competitive. I find our Canadian culture the same way. It really makes me want to travel to Japan and experience the difference.
Wow! What a cool observation!

Wow big city
MASSIVE!!
Amazing!
I hope you tried the tempura!
Uh oh! We didn't! Guess we have to go back! 😉
Any recommendations for a good place to stay, the cooking class location?
We stayed in Shinjuku. The city is so massive that I don't feel at all knowledgeable enough to give recommendations haha.
Our cooking class was at Tokyo Cooking Studio and was just wonderful! I definitely recommend that.
Did you take your little girl along?
Hello from NC
Would love to go to Japan
It was such a wonderful learning experience!
I absolutely love that skirt 😍 Did you sew that? The colorful one with the ties on the side?
Yes! Thank you!!
Wow!!❤❤🙏🙏xxoo
My son lives and works in Tokyo. He loves living in Japan. He wants me to visit, but I don't know if I could handle the flight.
The flight is quite long. The only tip I can give is to not drink caffeine on it... speaking from experience! 🤪
Did you go to the underground city?
We did not! Did we miss out?!
Hi there! What cut of beef meat did you use to make your steak fajitas? Love all the videos :)
We used rib steaks, but would prefer stew meat! It's just all we had haha!
Lovely video of your travels! Looks like your husband is a 🐊
haha yes he is!
Please don’t make that judgement based on leisure travel. Get a job with a Japanese company in your country and you will discover that there are many differences.
Wow what an amazing opportunity. God bless
Thanks so much!
