Ford wanted $650 to replace 6 spark plugs, intake seal and purge valve, bought all the parts for under $100, and these videos are gonna save me $550!!!!! You the man!
That is cheap.. here in Michigan they want 1200 plus .. then don't do it right lol charged me for tranny flush didn't drain anything just added and tried to 🤥 lie.. cut me a refund check and made tech do it in front of me! Gremlins in the Ford Is just the shop...
Hi, This is a again a great video you've come up! I am trying to do a tune up on my 2011 Ford Escape 3.0L AWD since it gets sparse intermittent misfires. But to my surprise there's no video showing how you do the process. There are either videos of 3.0L of model year before 2009, or videos of 2.5L engine. Your video here is the closest thing I can find all over UA-cam. So could you please answer a few questions here? 1) Except spark plug racket, what other tools do I need? 2) Do I have to replace the coil boots if I don't plan to replace the coils? Or is it recommended to replace them as well? 3) Do I need to replace the intake manifold gaskets, and if so how? I think if you could make a video to walk through the whole process, it will be quite valuable to the Internet. Thanks!
CCL13 basic tools like 8mm socket, pliers ratchets nothing specialized at all . On these I don't change the coil boots no unless they are full of oil. I would change the upper intake gaskets while in there yes, you just pick them right out of there and the new ones press very easy. I am putting the video idea on my list so I show a full walkthrough one day.
FordTechMakuloco I forgot to ask, where can I find torque requirement on all those bolt kind of things, like on the spark plug, the bolt to lock the coil, things like that? Also, happy holidays!
sorry this is off topic... could I get your advice on a PO243 wastegate solenoid issue? I have a FEH2008. Have you ran into this problem? Is there an easy fix? Is it likely corrosion? thanks for any help
So I followed your guide step by step and replaced all the plugs and added a new plenum gasket. I triple checked every plug and hose to make sure I put everything back together. Now the car (2012 ford escape) has a loud clicking/buzzing sound when you turn the key to the on position (2nd position). The buzzing stops then starts when you start the engine and the rate and tone of the buzzing mimic the engine's rpms. The engine will almost die now if you barley tap the throttle. Also, when driving it seems very sluggish and hard to increase speed. There are no check engine codes on and the car starts up easily, but you can hear the engine struggle to idle correctly at startup (a harsh dip then rise in rpm) as well as the engine rpms going up and down slightly at idle. What do I need to check? I should add the buzzing noise made me start pulling fuses to see what was making the noise and I found the noise would not start if I unplugged either the fuel pump fuse, or the fuel relay fuse?
Excellent footage sir.. I've got a 2010 Milan, and been wanting to do this.. My stock engine has 123,000 miles on it, but the one thing that's holding me up on swapping the plugs is, what are the chances of the spark plugs stripping the threads out of the head, due to milage and what not.. Also, at what temperature is the engine when doing this swap? Thanks
Tkanks a lot for the video, I just did this on a 2012 escape v6 that I recently purchased. However the no 2 and 3 plugs smells like gas. Is this something I should worry about??. Need some tips please..
Does anyone have any idea where to find a replacement upper manifold? I have been looking for one for weeks and I cannot for the life of me find this exact one.

Best tutorial I've ever seen! Right vehicle, right tools, right advice! No BS, just get it done.
Excellent video on how to efficiently remove the intake on my 2011 3.0L Ford Escape. Many thanks to FordTechMakuloco
Video helped me a lot today, shops said 2.4 hr job but it wasn't that long. Thanks for your video
Thank you I did my spark plugs today, saved me 725.00 thank you again...
Super helpful, Thanks so much.
What sensor is your knuckle hitting at 2:50? I had a mouse chew the wire. No code throwing just found it while cleaning.
Great video, details. Thanks
You're great for sharing and great video 🤠
Thanks a ton on the egr removal
Which spark plugs would you recommend? I installed NGK iridium, are those good or what's better?

FordTechMakuloco It is very nice of you! Thank you for your sharing of knowledge! I appreciate it very much.

Intake bolts-
Tighten the bolts in 2 stages in the sequence shown.
Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Stage 2: Tighten an additional 45 degrees
Spark plugs- 133" lbs
Spark Plug Gap- .045"-.048"
FordTechMakuloco Marvelous! Thank you again and Happy New Year!

sounds like a vac leak maybe. I know this is two years old but I'm about to do this to my 2010 escape lol

Thanks for posting this - as CCL13 said, it's hard to find videos for Escapes after 2009. Are there any differences for a V6 in a 2010?
+Bryan Bailey It should be the exact same until 2012

What are the extra steps to replace injector#5?
Does the 2009 3.0 escape have a fuel pressure sensor? Where is it located
That is Not a full removal video! The EGR tube remains stuck in the plenum. Sure I could change spark plugs but I can't remove the valve cover
thanks & yes this is useful.

I saw "Duratec" at :54...that's not Chevrolet?
Chevy uses Duramax, Ford uses Duratec. Plus the channel name is Ford-Tech-Makuloco
I love you soooooooo much
How do i get the boot back on the plug if it won't go on
If you have a paypal email/address, I would like to send you a small donation as you have save me a ton of hours : )
