Ive been banging away on a 2006 manifold with a hammer to try and get it to work. Talk about a pain in the A_ _ ! Finally got the rear Manifold in, but didnt want to fit, without hitting the front axle shaft. Took an old socket and bent the manifold about 1/2 inch inward where the shaft went, and now it works. Hope everything else works! I Need both manifolds and Y pipe. Fingers crossed!!!
Full disclosure - I'm a master mechanic and have been doing this stuff 20+ years. This repair is very difficult with high potential for additional parts to break along the way.
@@PaintedSpringsGarage thanks. Trying to stay confident because I can’t afford a shop to do it. From the looks of it, i’m going to need to but a punch and/or saw and/or extractor kit. So much to do. Thanks for sharing.
Bro do you know where all the 02 sensors are? We got the same car, I found 3 but I think there’s 4 I’m trying to find bank 2 sensor 2, much appreciated with any info you might have. Sick video
What brand of manifold didnyou end up with on the rear? Im going theough this on my daughter's 2008. I have a Dorman from Rock Auto and it does not line up with the y pipe and I'm having a hard time getting it returned.
@@PaintedSpringsGarage Modify your title to include 2008 and stuff isn't fitting - I'll bet someone has knowledge of this. I hate to say it but maybe I'm right. The fact that the 08 gen 2 has the gen 1 trans - maybe it has the "gen 1" engine too ?????

What a pain in the ass!
As an amateur who has never done this... It already seemed like a lot.. but gosh all of this. Thanks for preparing me.
for future videos: was definitely looking forward to hearing you drive it again. Put that part in future videos! We need the motivation lol

@@PaintedSpringsGarage man, I can’t even get these first two bolts off of bank(3)? 🤣 this is definitely hard to get to.
In recent years every time I've tried aftermarket parts to save a few bucks, I become more convinced that OE parts are worth the money
I agree, but I still try to save a few bucks on parts for a 15 year old car.
You could modify the Y pipe, get it repaired at an exhaust shop, use a saw zaw / exhaust pieces / tiger patch exhaust repair tape heat gun

I have a Ford escape xls 2010 i still don't know what i got if it's awd or fwd and i wanna go off-road so bad
What was the part number that fit lots of different brands online.
It was a Walker brand part that fit properly.
What year is it? The 2008 is a gen 2 BUT it has the Gen 1 transmission (4spd vs 6spd) - could be the 2008 (gen 2) uses gen 1 manifolds?
2008
