- On our way home from Nevada on hwy 88, we climbed up a little further that 8,500 ft in elevation. Nothing but the sounds of the engine, shifting gears and gorgeous scenery the ends at a beautiful lake and snow!
It was a perfect trip in our 1931 Ford Model A Sports Coupe with a Mitchell overdrive.
I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things to do is to watch the scenery on the hood of the Model A as we drive and sometimes even watching the scenery on the back of the headlamps…please don’t do it while you’re driving though lol
If the sounds of the Ford Model A engine puts you in a happy mood and gives you that ASMR feeling, then you’ll enjoy kicking back and watching this video!
Have an awesome week! #fordmodela #femalemechanic - Авто та транспорт

8500 ft = 2590 m over sea level. This is a challenge for old carburetor engines.... I remember that from the time in the 1990s when I did driven arround in the Alpes and climbed passes who went above 1800m.
For nowadays cars with turbocharger and their electronics it is not anymore a problem.
Great video, spectacular scenery, great sound track. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.
Thank you so much, thanks for joining us 💕
Model T cool trip !

Enjoyable just listening to drive and y'all talking!!!
Thank you 💕
Beautiful. thank you
Thank you 💕
@@Modeltshinn you are welcome
What a pretty drive! I'm assuming that you have insert bearings on this engine (thank goodness). It did a great job climbing that grade... Thanks much for sharing...
Thanks; have an awesome week!
wow
LOVE IT!
Thanks!
What has happened to question of the day? I miss that!
We will get back to it, lots being done to A’s with timelines, plus working long hours at our full time jobs…thank you and have an awesome week 💕
If we could just retire that would help greatly!
Is that the new hood? Looks beautiful.
Yep, hood with a new paint job, thank you…I still feel bad that my cat did it though
I was falling asleep listening to the engine 😅
Thank you for the ride
That’s awesome!
I like the music this gearbox is making! And indeed marvellous scenery.
When I see you driving this "respectable old lady" like this, I think it must be possible to cross Europe with "her" without major problems.
One question ... when going downhill, I suppose that you push the advance-lever "up"-full. to have a bit more "engine-braking"?
No you don’t, the advance lever is set to engine rpm, not wether you’re going up hill or downhill. Have a great week!
Awesome 👌 Thanks for the ride you guys 😊
Thanks for joining us, have an awesome week!
Beautiful drive with a model A. Are you using the overdrive?
The climb over the mountain to my house is kinda steep too. I wonder if a model A will make it up the hill without an overdrive and if the brakes will hold coming down.
Paul was using the overdrive, but even without it it would still make it but slower…a well tuned carburetor helps a lot and if your brakes are good and adjusted properly then getting down the hill is no big deal especially if your using your engine for breaking mostly 😁💕
Model T handles it like a champ 😇🙏
Thank you so much 💕
Thank you 💕
I take it no freewheeling on the way down, that could be very scary.
Na, too hard to get back into gear and we want to use that engines breaking help 😁💕
Seems like you shifted into 2nd gear at about the 2+ min mark. Was that bc your speed dropped and you couldn't pick it back up on the incline? (Separately, I watch these at double speed for a little extra terror. lol)
Yep, we were climbing and got too slow lol
What speed were you running and did you use your overdrive much? I assume at the 9:00 mark you were in 2nd high? I only drove an over drive once, so just curious. Pretty area.
Well we started at 50-55 mph and as we climbed we got to about 45 and that’s when we were able to get in the passing lane, luckily we didn’t have any traffic behind us after that cause we got down to about 35 as we climbed closer to 8,500 ft…I think Paul said he was in 2nd and overdrive?
@@Modeltshinn Thanks for the info, I thought so but wasn't sure.
There is always that one guy... 1:24
Yep! Except that was a woman in her car alone with a covid mask on.
@@ModelA Ha ! I guess she is more afraid of germs than head on's. Good grief.
@@markymark903🤣
@@markymark903 I know, crazy.
did he tweak the mixture on the carburator?
No, nothing tweaked. He has it all sorted, a Mitchell overdrive.
is it possible to charge a gopro 121 camera off a 6v system
We honestly don’t know, we’ve never tried changing one on 6v…we also don’t have a GoPro so that mostly why lol
Is it a stock 31?
No, it has an overdrive
