  • In todays video I’m going to show you how to fix warped kick panels!
    Years ago these Kick Panels were put in this 1930 Ford Model A, then at some point Gandalf was exposed to weather and the kick panels got very wet, dried, back and forth till the panels warped very badly.
    I love fixing Ford Model A’s, keeping them looking great & driving and treating them like they’ll be around another 100 years!!
    Have an awesome week!
    Thank you ‪@ModelA‬ for being my camera man for parts of my video today!

    What a lovely, warm hearted ride at the end, but the straightening of the kick panels, is a darn good tip and a way of doing! That sun we also have here in Curaçao. You both are just as I am here, taking out my wife for an ice cream in the model A. Tops Tina very again lovely footage and Paul as always with his 10 million dollar smile 😃. God bless my dear Model A friends!🙏👍🏼🇺🇸 I like so much when Paul says MADE IN THE USA, and that I am very positive about👌🏼👍🏼
    America made items are simply the best!!!!! And that you can find back in all the vintage made items, automobiles, tools and so on!!!!!

    I thinking that it would be a nice idea to put a plastic backing on those panels to protect them from water intrusion. Even trash bags could work. Gandolf is definitely a sorted out car; just needs a new windshield and some paint on the fenders and it will be awesome.

    Great video. I have a panel or two to straighten in my 30 Tudor. So this video comes at the right time. Mine is actually a door panel. I have some of the cement walkway pieces to hold it down. They are 24"× 24" × 2" thick and flat and smooth in the top side so that should do the trick while drying.

    Tina, so simple- water helped mis-formed the panels and a smart lady and water brought them back to be close the original shape.
    Looking good!
    Thanks for the tip.

    You know you two have a good racket going. Paul with the heavy stuff/subjects, and the general. You with the lighter stuff like this and communication between the two of yous make for a complete Model A “voice”. History, contemporary and mechanical is spilled from both of yous.
    I don’t have a Model A but my grandfather did, and my love of the Ford History has me here in all respects.
    Much love you guys, kudos on the life you have.

    White vinegar is better for mold also removes rust, rinse after using for rust.🙏 Long rides in a model A should always include ice cream, black walnut if possible.

    The wood materiel is called Masonite, It comes in 4X8 sheets

      @Modeltshinn  5 місяців тому +1

      Are you talking about the kick panel backing? If you are, it’s not any kind of wood, it’s a paper type material…maybe you’re talking about something else I said?

    • @Modeltshinn
      @Modeltshinn  5 місяців тому +1

      @@marktaylor9975I’d have to do research on that, all I do know is I had to be very careful with the amount of water I was using and not to rub the material in any way because it would start to peel on the top surface like cardboard would if you got it really wet.

    Did you know the front seat of the Model A is known as an SOB seat (actaully any bench type vehicle front seat). That is the 'Slide Over Baby' seat. If you on a date and it is going well the driver makes lots of hard Right turns. If the date isn't going so well you make lots of left turns. Now you know about the SOB seat.
    Not what you thought.
