    Hi, There is an old saying in Tamil language that "Murungaya vechavan verum kaiyya povan" ( The one plants moringa tree will go empty handed) and it actually means that, The one who plants the moringa tree in their house and then consumes the leaves cooked, Drumstick cooked, will never needs a walking stick. He / she can walk freely with no support in his/ her later ages. And it is. The power of moringa Tree.

    lol, you guys are very dedicated to Moringa. I think a little over the top. I just toss them in regular soil in my backyard and they grow like mad. These trees are amazing. They grow fast and don't ask for anything. They give and give. They don't even demand a lot of water.
    I pass on the kissing, blessing and expensive soil. Moringa is God's gift. Regular garden soil works!

      Think about the negativity amongst humans for a moment. Now think about her kind and loving intent towards her fellow human beings, in hugging and kissing the seed. Now think about your mockery of that. Rinse and repeat if you can’t see the regrettable comment you’ve left.

    Moringa is a very forgiving tree. The 3 most common mistakes, soil that doesn't drain well, over watering and over feeding. You'll be surprised how well this tree responds to neglect. ;-)

    I have one 20- 30ft Moringa tree. Our soil is dreadful,we planted it over a sink hole,that also receives the grey water from our laundry sink. And boy,that tree is thriving. We have to cut it down to 10 ft every six months. It also attracts humming birds. On north coast of Jamaica.

    ty for the bit on keeping them in the same pot. watched plenty of videos amd i never heard that. i originally planned my few in some shallow pots and had to move them within a month. i transplanted 7 in 5 gallon 12 inch pots and I've had a few die. one is a fighting, one is ok, but the rest seem stunted for over a month.
    really wish i knew they were so prone to transplant shock beforehand.

    We are in Quartzsite, Arizona. We only have a few 30 degree nights in the winter, however our summers can get up to 115. I have 4 trees started and they are doing well, one is being picked on by either birds or bunnies, but still growing. I just ordered another 3 oz. of seed, and pots, but thank you for the tips on adding something to lighten the soil. I won't forget the blessing either!
    I have seen how successful Moringa are being grown in Phoenix and Tempe, I had a feeling they would do well here. I am looking forward to my own microclimate, created by the Moringa and the native Palo Verde. My lavender will love the additional shade.

      Yes, Moringa can grow in poor stress full conditions, that is part of the magic of the plant. But I have been using Moringa Leaves, leave powder, Seeds, Seed Powder, and extracts, as well as the roots for years. Having consumed Mariko's Maringa recently I can state I have never had any so powerful, and obvious in its effects.

      Mycorrhizal fungi provides a transport network to feed the roots. Home Depot sells it. The soil bacteria breaks the carbon based plant matter down into bio-available material and the fungi transports these nutrients to the roots. In exchange, the plant provides carbon and sugars to the fungi. The perlite that is mixed with the compost/castings is of volcanic origin and is very porous, similar to the surface of activated carbon. These nooks and crannies provide the habitat for the fungi and bacteria to develop. It is said that in reality, you're feeding the soil and the soil feeds the plant.

    Do they grow faster from seed if the outer hard shell is removed?

    • @jacobklassen113
      @jacobklassen113 4 роки тому +4

      Yes but if you damage the inner seed it is unlikely to sprout. The outer shell protects against stomach acid when consumed and naturally once the shell is worn down enough sprouts.
      You can also soak the seeds in hot water and plant. What i did was file the seed enough for water to get into the seed area and plant.

      It's best to start the seed in grow on the last frost date for your area, February or March. Then before the first frost for your area, October,November, or December, you can cut it down to a out two feet and then mulch it really well up to 12 inches to keep the roots system safe from frost/freezing. Some people don't cut the top off and trim it, they will just mulch it heavily for the winter. If it survives the first winter, it will bee good to go. Just mulch the base really well every winter. Hope this helps.

    Can I grow moringa in New Mexico?

    • @chuckredd9131
      @chuckredd9131 2 роки тому

      With out a doubt! New Mexico goes from high, cold altitudes to hot, dry dessert, depending where your at. Put it in a large, deep pot where you can put it inside in the winter months
      or cut it back to about 3' tall and cover it well so it doesn't freeze the root.

    i bought what was supposed to be Moringa Oleifera seed, but my plants have totally different leaves than yours. Do you grow Moringa Ruspoliana? Going through photos of the different species that is what my plant leaves look like.
    Do you know if it can be used the SAME as the regular Moringa Olieifera.?
    Anyone that knows about this species, I would love to hear from you.

    Why is your Moringa tree so close to the ground? My Moringa tree has grown so tall that I can hardly get to pick the leaves. Is there something I need to do for it not to grow so tall? Thanks for the videos.

      Not sure if you’ll see this (7 months later), but you want to top it or cut the top off when it’s grown to 2-3’ high. This will cause two new branches which will make it more of a bush shape than a tall pencil like tree. But it produces many more leaves and you can reach them without a ladder! If you want lots of leaves , keep cutting each branch off every 2’ feet. In some conditions, you can stick the branch top right into the ground and it may root with just a little water til it establishes. In AZ , I want it for a supplemental food source and a tall, wide at the top SHADE tree. So my goal is to attempt to get a (chicken) drumstick tree shape. Once the top is 20-25’ tall, I stop pruning. ***You can still prune or top off your tree! They grow very fast.

      @@mauryhill2552 how's that working for you?
      Did it die back during the Winter last year?
      As in, did it die back to the ground, killing all the above ground growth, and in Spring did it have to start over?
      Or did the branches just go dormant, and then in Spring, continue where it left off?

    I've heard about this moringa for a very long time and I had no idea it's the lowly malungay back home which grows EVERYWHERE. It grew in our backyard and it's impossible to kill even without watering. We put it in almost everything, any dish we cook. On Tinolang manok with green papaya and steamed rice for lunch. And now it's a superfood. Smh.

    Plant your seed and water it !
    Moringa is a verrrry blessed plant and will grow in ANYTHING.
    I've successfully grew many in the sand !
    You don't have to have this or that and 50 different soils, imported, and with sparkles and magical powers !
    😅🤣 I bet this chick has to have maaaany gadgets just to make a pancake or she has to go to cracker barrel 😲🤣😅😒
