    Hi. I want to try breed killifish. Just wondering is the peetmoss soil?
    Do you need to keep it moist? Does it need a little to keep humidity?

    Hi quick question. When you place in the peat box should you keep it covered, meaning should I have a lid on it or can it be opened? And what if the weather is cool, will it affect the hatching? Thanks in Advance

    Can I use Coco Peat? Instead of Peat moss?

    • @KillieOrCory
      @KillieOrCory  3 роки тому

      Yes you can. Coco peat will also work to incubate the eggs

      How many days to incubate?

    • @KillieOrCory
      @KillieOrCory  3 роки тому

      Depends on the temperature but around 2 weeks is good before you wet them. If you keep adding new eggs 3plus weeks is possible so most of them hatch at the same time.

    I have these fish and I just leave their eggs in a tank

    The hatching time must be very variable, one guy on youtube said 10 weeks another 6 weeks, David Ramsey said 4 weeks and you say 2-3 weeks.

      Hi MoreChannelNoise, it changes a bit depending on the species incubated, the humidity/moisture of the peat and temperature.
      Plus you can wait for extra week or more for some developed eggs to have the slower/newer ones to catch up. That way you end up having most eggs hatching roughly around the same time.
      Above is why there is variation on incubation times.
      The 10 weeks must be for an annual killifish though not annual.
