Greenstuff sculpted cables are also REALLY helpful to help change the design language a bit of the mk VI armor. Under the pauldrons, under cloaks, etc.
Agreed, except I’m waiting on Raven Guard. No helmet problems in the AoD box for them! ;-) I got the Raven Guard decal sheet early yesterday. Lots of good options on it for all those infantry I’m going to be painting up. 🦅
I know you get the cataphractii in the box set but would highly recommend a squad of gorgon terminators for anyone starting iron hands not only do they look amazing but they have fun and unique rules and will always be more fun to play than bog standard legion terminators
The only thing is, coming from 40K, I wish Gorgons did not come in that 40K-esque Terminator Armor. I know it is technically a unique pattern, but after two decades, it is just so bloody lame.
@@J_Warral I’ll grant it is indomitus pattern armor but still has enough iron hands iconography and details on it that it sticks out from regular 40k terminators trust me I should know I’m painting my 4th squad of gorgons now
I’ve totally got my fingers crossed that they will release a Caestus Assault Ram in plastic. Even if they just brought it back in resin, I’d still be over the moon. I wanted one of those so badly, and it went out of production while I was saving up for it. Lost out the same way with Shadow Captain Korvydae, the RG chest, pauldron, power pack and head upgrade kit(s), RG Cataphractii Shoulder Plates, MKII Assault squad, etc. I really appreciate you making all of these videos- I’m in the middle of bingeing your Getting Started In 30K series 1, as they are still a really good guide. I am planning on using some of the models from the new box to fill out my already large XIXth army (I always wanted a Spartan for them- I even painted my Storm Eagle the way they painted the RG Spartan in HH Book III, with the white door and all). But most of the rest is going to be the start of a new Legion, and even though I have some front runners, I am having a hard time picking one. These new videos show a lot of the options that I have to weigh before deciding, so thanks. I’m looking forward to seeing your next releases! Enjoy your weekend-
I do mine as each Clan has a unit representing that each clan is the best in there represented unit Like Ungavarr is best in Immortals and Morrgal is best in Cataphractii so on an so forth
These videos for each Legion are awesome, thanks for the work you are putting into giving each legion a moment on the spotlight!! I'm starting an Iron Hands army (new to HH) and to my suprise there's not much info on them, I'm actually having more trouble trying to learn lore about them in order to build the backround for my army than anything else lol I'm also kinda confused as to why an Iron Father can't pick Gorgon armor, I guess it's got to do with that pattern of termie armor being unremovable or something but still feels kinda weird gameplay wise (screwing with Blind rule and loosing sweeping advance if joined by cataphractii IF).
"Any legion cataphractii praetor or legion cataphractii centurion may exchange their legion cataphractii terminator armour for gorgon terminator armour at no additional points cost"
If you want to learn more about the Iron Hands, I suggest reading the HH novels “Shattered Legions” and maybe “Fulgrim”, as it covers the Dropsite Massacre. Both are really good, but I would say that “Shattered Legions” is more focused on the Iron Hands. I hope that helps a bit-
@@tunguskalumberjack9987 Thank you, I'll defiently check them out. I've started listening to "Fulgrim", but Shattered Legions sounds like exactly what I'm looking for!
@@ginko5014 Cool! Fulgrim is a great book, but a lot happens in it that isn’t about the Iron Hands. That said, it does cover some pretty important parts of their story. The Shattered Legions one is awesome, and I’ve read it a few times. It covers the Salamanders and Raven Guard as well, but it mainly deals with the Iron Hands, and them leading the other two after Isstvan V on a guerilla campaign against the traitors. It’s got some reason satisfying revenge stuff- I think you’ll enjoy it 👍🏻
Hey I’m a little confused. You say to replace the beakie helmets with the FW mk3 looking ones, but in another video u said it looks bad if the armor and helmet don’t match. Can u help me out here?
Great series thus far. Lookin' foward to the ultra boyos.

Love this series, just desperately waiting for the Word Bearers part!

The amount of effort you are putting into this series is just insane! Thanks mate!
I picked the Xth Legion and I am already planning my conversions and force org chart. This is well-timed!
Was looking forward to seeing this one

There to expensive and made from resin
iron father ferrios is also a much better option when making a forge lord, i would just need to find a good automata/servitor standin

You forgot to mention the adeptus titanicus knight kits that are chock full of bionic bits that can be used

Gotta love the ol' MKI Eyeball
As an Alpha Legion fan, I suppose I am in the back of the que lol
Has anyone who's gotten the box yet been able to confirm that Iron Father Feirros's axe fits on the axe praetor model?
One subscriber did get it and personally messaged me to say that yes indeed it fitted, with some minor tweaks.
HELL YEAH!
LETS GO!!!!

Macca, are you still doing the 3D STL legion bundles for bits?
Yes, I mention it on one of the new videos.

I honestly didn't bother changing the beakie, the helmet is awesome
Sons of horus
Was expecting world eaters today but I forgot these guys existed! Oh well…
