    Basically your noise floor with the AT2020 is higher meaning that you have less "silence" to work with before it starts clipping and having background noise, and the Rode let's you have more gain or raise the volume without that happening so soon. It seems that the Rode is a little bit more flat, and the AT has more mid end which translates on the Rode being a bit overall easier to EQ

      Once you think of a microphone as a condenser microphone, there are multiple consonants and vowels.
      But first of all, the sound itself can be made into a virtual effector.
      A low-cost microphone, of course, given its characteristics as a condenser-recording microphone.
      You can think of what you're looking forward to in, but you've both used it
      I dare recommend AT2020 because it is important to me.
      It is
      Because I am comparing the microphone between the two, so I don't know the other microphone, and the condenser microphone is.
      I think is important because of the recording microphone
      Your voice sounds clearer and clearer. So the sound source is bette

    The AT2020 might sounds equals at first look, but it has 15dB of noise compared to the NT-1a, the Rode is far much better if you wants to record low voices. AT2020 is great at that price range anyway.

    Tough call! I would agree with NT-1A for singing, AT2020 for voice/rap/semi-rap. Your voice is excellent for testing mics. Very very close though, between them. You need a little more relaxed flow/deeper soul in the singing..just a tad. Just a listening opinion.

  • @johntekstar
    @johntekstar 5 років тому +8

    The NT1 has a lower self noise,and the package gives you more bang for the $$$$ as a vocal mic,, Butttt,,,, the at2020 is more rugged and is more versatile in that it works well when you mic acoustics, or guitar cabs.IMHO

  • @LoftyAssertions
    @LoftyAssertions Рік тому +2

    If you're not an established professional, get the AT2020 without a shred of doubt for the value, I used mine for 6 years. You probably aren't aware that your audio interfaces have noise floors too. On top of this, the cable you use and how it's plugged in can even introduce noise.
    So, if you're looking to do a maximized professional mix you'll want the lower noise floor of the NT1 range for headroom and low threshold compression on quiet inputs to reduce overall noise in your setup as much as possible, once you're at this level that minuscule difference begins to matter to you, the reality is only 0.1% of your audience care and 0.001% of that percentage could even notice if they had the equipment to and determination to somehow compare your mix to a theoretical version that used another mic.

    Aint no damn difference. Ut yet a more price. I feel the rode has a more deep and crisp type shit but you can always edit the 2020 and make it sound exactly like that or even better. Just depends on how you mix your vocals. Ive been using mine since I was 19 and still using my at2020 💯💪

    I use both, AT2020 for punch-through short ad auditions, NT1A for a smoother voice, slicker intentions, longer times. Similar to your preferences, rap vs singing. My work to get to a -60dB noise floor didn't have trouble with the AT2020 self-noise. Too much else to fix up. The NT1A does let you back off for softer details, but that's special jobs.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Custom (71-72 model) with Mahogany body, with a thin maple layer in the middle and maple top, and then a 2001 Ibanez JS1000-Btb with a Basswood body, and they both sound awesome! Of course each of them in their respective way, but that has to do with the pickups indeed.
      If vocals, where just vibrations without much sound (like guitar strings), then the mic would have played a bigger role yes, but as we are already loud as $#"%, the mic has less to say than pickups ;)

    Love your content! Would I be able to use both of my KRK Rokit monitors and use this a2020 mic at the same time with the same interface or do I need two interfaces to use both at once? Thanks!

    Kelli, are you mixing your vocals on top of a already mastered beat? Or are you making the beats, and adding your vocals?

    • @KelliMusic
      @KelliMusic  5 років тому +2

      Well for this, I just used a youtube beat. For my own music the beats are made with the vocals.

      Ya the NT1A is a great option for rapping & singing. That’s what I use it for. It’s my main mic 💪

    • @KelliMusic
      @KelliMusic  11 місяців тому
