I use a Pyle PCM20A amplifier, which can output to 25v, 70v, or even a standard 8 ohm speaker. Here's a link for a similar amplifier I use (this version is a bit newer, has Bluetooth capabilities) Pyle PCM20A - Compact Mini Home Power Amplifier - 40W Smart Small Audio Stereo Receiver w/ AUX 2 Microphone IN COM/8-Ohm/25V/70V Speakers LED Input Selector For PA Amplified Speaker Sound System a.co/d/76HZljw
Thanks! Could this work? It has a built in 10w amplifier www.electronics123.com/shop/fn-bc04-tb-4-buttons-triggered-mp3-player-board-with-10w-amplifier-and-terminal-blocks-8267
@@lspdfrisawesome8972 That wouldn't work, that device only outputs 8 ohm, and won't properly drive the speaker. I used to use an mp3 player hooked directly to the Pyle Amp. If you can find a similar device that outputs to a line level output, then thats your best bet. Ideally it would go MP3 Board/Player > Pyle Amp > Speaker(s).
@@NewEnglandElevators I don't know a whole lot about speakers. How many ohms is the speaker? It has a built in amplifier. I've also spent over $100 on this project so I'd like to keep cost as low as possible.
@@lspdfrisawesome8972 Here is an article to check out, might explain these 25v/70v speakers a bit better then I could. These fire alarm speakers are essentially a part of a large PA system...these alarm speakers dont have an official ohm rating that I know of...I don't know the ohm rating off the top of my head www.lowellmfg.com/wp-content/uploads/What-is-a-25V-70V-or-100V-Speaker-System.pdf
I have seen this EXACT setup at my sisters work. They had these and Simplex 4099-9003 stations on a Simplex 4100U panel, and it was once going off! I sadly didnt have anything to record with; but it played the older message with the fast whoop and the same message. Except they had Truealert strobes in the restrooms.
In the description, are you referring to me? LOL. That's what I've got. Also, these tests you do are awesome. You totally need to get a panel someday and start making system tests.
How do you change the watt setting? I have a ET70 with a vertical strobe and trying to figure out how to do it. This is my first speaker strobe so idk.
Come to think of it, I think the ET-XX series is capable of going from 8w to 1/8w, while the E-XX series is only capable from going to 2w to 1/4w. My E50 is only capable of going from 2w to 1/4w, while my ET devices are capable of going from 8w to 1/8w. I don't have any more E-XX devices, so I don't know for sure.
It's not that often that you see the Nickel Plated version, even less often than you see the white version. The only other place I saw a Nickel Plated version was in some video; they were tied into a Simplex 4010 with 4003 voice evac.
I’m pretty sure The Empire State Building has these. Penn Station has a mix of Wall mount ET70s and Ceiling mount ET90s with ALERT letters oddly enough.
We have these in are high school. There red and they are in slow whoop, no voice message. We also have a few classic System Sensors and a few Wheelock 24VDC alarms. Nice video.
Hey NewEnglandElevators. Remember when I said the fire alarms at my school did slow whoop. Well one time when the band was getting there new jackets because most of the pepole in the band were going to D.C. The fire alarms went off just before I got my snack out the vending machine. It actually had a older Fire Lite voice evac. But the whole system was a Notifire. I couldent really hear the Voice message because of the Wheelock NS doing code 3. To tell you the truth most of these schools around the U.S do need to up grade on there fire alarm systems. We shouldent really be using older fire alarms that companies dont make no more. Just an opinion.
I have seen 2903's and 4903's by my sisters work (she works in a rehab center networked by a hospital) And in the hospital they replaced MANY 2903's with 4903's and the pull's were all replaced with 4099's. Sadly enough they're removing the system in favor of a Notifier ONYX with Wheelock Speakers and BG-12LX's. I tried getting the alarms but they're recycling them.
I guess that’s the point
That strobe made a sound that made me think someone was tapping on my headphones.
I have a red weatherproof 180 fixed cd version of this device. It looks like a mix of an e50 and MT.
What was it on at 2:50
+Joshua oken Probably 70v, 8w. It's been a while since I made this video, so I do not remember for sure.
It's playing the Simplex 4100 voice evac message.
0:04 The Best Part!
How did you amplify the audio

Locate a jumper on the back. There should be a chart on the back of the unit. Locate an instruction manual for more info.
twitter.com/TrytyTrunks/status/916151968380284930 This one?
Yes. Refer to the chart on the yellow transformer for wattage/voltage info.
NewEnglandElevators Ok. But the jumper is hard to take out though. any suggestions of how to take it out?
What is powering this system- battery or wiring in a panel?
A 24VDC power supply.
How different is the et70 from a regular e70?
I'm not exactly sure, there's no information from Wheelock that I can find.

That's actually a speaker strobe
Why does this have the older wheelock logo? Was this made prior to wheelock's acquisition from Cooper Industries in 2006?

They have those at the the Toronto consulate
Well, It could be a Notifier. I relly dont know. But the high school is adding a new building so it could have the same Wheelock features.

what year did the e70 come out?
Not sure...
Probably the 90s
