    Hi Pan,
    Will this work on the New Cadillac Escalade with full Semi-Aniline leather seats? Also what products are safe to use as a quick detailer without having to worry about conditioning? Considering everyone stating that it has some type of protection layer from the manufacturer. I started to get confused about what to use. Any help would be appreciated. Also lov3 all the video you post!!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  10 місяців тому +1

      You'd have to ask Colourlock directly if it's compatible with semi-aniline leather. All they say is that it's compatible with leather and imitation leather. Same goes for Geist products. They say they are not suited for aniline leather, but don't talk about semi-aniline.
      Leather conditioners aren't needed on new leather (up to 3 years old). Modern leather has a clear coat on top (polyurethane) and conditioners don't penetrate that layer. What new leather needs is simply to protect against friction damage, dye transfer, UV damage, fading and cracking. Hence why we use leather sealants (2-3 months durability) or leather coatings (9-12 months durability). And protection makes cleaning much easier.
      Beyond three years, there can start to be micro-tears in the leather, and then you can potentially start using conditioners which can start to penetrate those micro fractures and nourish the leather hide underneath the clear coat. See a leather care tutorial I made with leather care experts from Colourlock here: ua-cam.com/video/pvKJXGRneJg/v-deo.htmlsi=rErqtz_VnbmDAwXi
      But again, you'd have to ask about products for semi-aniline seats to make sure.

      @PanTheOrganizer Hi Pan,
      Thanks for replying. Really appreciate it. I watched the video link you sent me and it looks like I have to treat Semi-Aniline leather like pigmented leather. The video was very informative, thanks for sharing! I've already placed an order for the new leather kit. Pan, what do you recommend as a quick detailer for the leather? I keep my vehicle clean and I want to use something that doesn't affect the leather shield or protection after it's applied! I've got a lot of products from Adam's, GTechniq, Gyeon, and recently Koch Chemi. Lol.. I know that's overkill!! I've confused myself at this point on what to use as my predominant quick-cleaning. I just want to use something that doesn't harm or deteriorate the coating. My apologies for all the questions and the long message! Honestly, I trust watching your videos only at this point, and most of what I've purchased was based on your videos. All are good just that one concern I have regarding what product is safe on the coating if I use it 2 or 3 times a week! Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help!

      Geist and Colourlock are likely two of the best leather specific care brands on the market currently. You can't go wrong with either one.
      And of course my seats never look dirty, I would never let them get to that point. I wash the exterior of my car 1-2 times a week, and do the interior once or twice a month. Maintenance is key. And it's so easy to do when the base layer of protection is a quality product like Geist or Colourlock.

    I’m getting ready to put on this product on my new leather seats but I can’t do my entire interior all at the same time. I have spinal issues and can only work for a short time before needed to stop for the day. I guess the towel and sponge applicator can be washed and reused right? UPDATE: I spoke with Josh at the rag company, and he told me you can basically hand wash the sponge and microfiber towel for later use. I know that was probably a no-brainer, but I just wanted to be sure cause I’m really a rookie at this. Sure was nice to dial a phone number and talk to a human being. Hi Pan. I let Colourlock know of my user experience with Top Life on their YT and thought I'd let you know as well. I applied Top Life on the interior leather of my new 2023 M3. Prepped as instructed. I found the product to apply easily on all my leather surfaces except it was streaky on the black leather dash. Thought it might be because I applied to much, so removed it and re-apply as instructed. Still streaky. Was worried that it would cure that way, so removed it again and won't apply on the dash again. What is so strange is that other black leather surfaces like the doors were just fine, so it had nothing to do with the color of the leather nor the amount of product applied. I could have left it on the dash and see if it evened out after the 2 hour or 48 hour cure periods, but didn't want to chance a bad result.

    How do you remove dye transfer from a leather seat? I used Gyeon Q2 when my wife’s car was new, but when I went to reapply 6 months later there is a black line on the seat from her belt. I haven’t been successful removing it.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 роки тому +1

      You had Gyeon Leather Shield (the coating in a glass bottle) or Leathercoat (the spray)? Leather Shield should last 6 to 12 months and make dye transfer cleaning a breeze, as long as you regularly clean the leather surfaces monthly.
      At this point, many rounds of cleaning using and appropriate heavier duty dedicated leather cleaner is a must.
      Here's a link: bit.ly/3AwZeUf
      And use a quality leather brush like this: bit.ly/3ymc2dp

I have quick question, I guess this video can out a few days later for me. I got a new Porsche and the day I got it I put the colourlock shield new leather on my seats but it looks like this would have been better. Can I just clean and prep the lather and then redo it or am I out of luck.

    Do you already have an update to this video? How is the leather coating now, after 9 months?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Рік тому +1

      It was actually applied about a year ago at this point (I film ahead of time, it takes a while to produce and edit videos). It's not simple to evaluate the real world durability of leather coatings, other than perhaps applying a few beads of water on the surface and see if they seem round and tight.
      I am happy to report that it did super well on my seats and I'd reapply this for sure. I would say it lasted a good 10+ months in my conditions, with peak performance, and in the last month I noticed a difference in how simple the cleaning was. It wasn't hard, but not a simple wipe off as usual. So at this point, I would recommend someone reapplies it.
      Overall, top notch product from a leather care expert: Colourlock.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 роки тому

      The Colourlock leather cleaner will work if you use the stronger version, and a good leather brush. You might need a few rounds of cleaning to get it fully off, assuming it hasn't already permanently stained the leather.
      Colourlock strong cleaner: bit.ly/3PlmSY1
      Leather brush: bit.ly/3NW3yPJ
      Hence why it's important to protect leather seats to make cleanups easier in the future, as you can't prevent dye transfer, but you can make it a breeze to clean.

    Pan, I was wondering if you can make a suggestion. I have a brand new Sea-Doo and recently took it out for a ride with a pair of shorts on that were new. The black dye from the shorts stain the yellow seat that is made from vinyl. I do believe and everything I've tried I cannot remove the stain. Any suggestions?

      I need more info to help you. First, what is the seat made from? Vinyl? Leather? Fabric? Next, was the seat protected with any kind of protection to help with making cleaning dye transfer easier?
      What exactly did you use to try and clean it? Tools, products, etc.

    Hi Pan - looking for quick advice. Sorry for putting it here. I bought the Griot's Garage foam cannon you suggested in one of your vids and just got it. Long story short, no foam came out. I have a 2030psi pressure washer that does 1.6g, so it's not that. The foam was made of a mix of Chemical Brothers (green) foam mix and warm water, so it's not that. What happened was only water came out. Soap wasn't being sucked up from the holder. At one point, I got it to work for about 10 seconds: yay!), but when I stopped to adjust the spray, only water came out next time I pulled the trigger. I tried at least 20 times. Any suggestions? Or should I return the cannon? THANK YOU!!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 роки тому

      Hard to say as I'm not there seeing what is going on. There is a black integrated chemical flow valve, on the side of the foam cannon, that allows you to adjust foam output with the turn of a dial. Did you try adjusting that? Turn it full blast and see if you get foam.
      By "Chemical Brothers green foam" I'm assuming you meant Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam? That's a decent snow foam so that shouldn't be the issue.
      After you retried testing with the chemical flow valve, if you still aren't getting foam, then yes you should reach out to Griot's Garage (or the place where you ordered the foam cannon from) and ask for troubleshooting or a replacement unit if it's defective.
      Also, note there are several factors for getting thick and rich foam:
      1) type of pressure washer (the higher the GPM of water output, the more foam you get)
      2) type of foam cannon (in your case, that foam cannon is top tier)
      3) type of snow foam (good snow foams include Adam's Mega Foam, Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam, Koch Chemie Gsf, etc)
      4) dilution ratio of snow foam (adjust dilution according to your setup. a good starting point is 3 oz of snow foam with 24 oz of water)
      5) water quality (deioinzed or demineralized water is always better compared to regular tap water especially if you have hard water issues where you live)
      I hope this helps.

      @@PanTheOrganizer I can't thank you enough for being so accessible to your followers. I did play with the flow valve (constantly), and yes thank you - I was using the Honeydew foam. The issue is that it seems like nothing was getting sucked up the "straw". If the unit didn't actually work for about 10-15 seconds, I would think there is some kind of a block in the straw or in the connector. I did speak to them and they said I could send it back. But I was hoping to avoid a month of mailing delays. Thanks for your insight!

    I just applied this to a new BMW, black textured leather, The product leaves a blotchy appearance, it dries way too fast and becomes slightly white when drying if you hit it again with the product, you need to apply this very thin and very fast, just finishing the bottom of a seat, it if you hit the area adjacent that you just did, like the edges working your way in, it wants to blotch , you'll see white residue and streaks. There is Noooo way I could just keep playing with it like Pan did in the video, wiping the seat over and over and over again, I would have had a dry white streaky mess. Atleast the white mess does wipe off with a mirco fiber, but then I had to try and blend it in with a damp applicator and try not to get more blotches. I applied this in Dew point 55, 78 degrees outside in the shade. Even the applicator gets gummy/white mess near the end. I'm not sure I would use this again, their leather shield is waaaay better to apply. We'll see what 48 hours does.

    • @ruebarb1
      @ruebarb1 2 роки тому

      After 48hours the appearance has not improved, this "darkened" the black leather, as the leather was matte and now has a satin sheen and therefore looks darker, the blotchy did not improve. The leather went from a matte vinyl look to a veg tan treated leather look. They need to change their claims, as this is not accurate on black "It barely changes the surface appearance (slightly shiny/slightly slippery => goes away within 48 hours)" To anyone who did not see the leather before, would think it looks fine and looks like normal leather.

      @@queenatlanta1779 I didn't exactly get rid of it, any area that really caught my eye, used a damp micro fiber, luckily this is water soluble. Esstially after cleaning your leather, you protect it with one of too choices:
      1) A leather sealant (those typically last 2-3 months)
      2) A leather coating (those typically last 6-12 months)
      You can use this Colourlock Top Life coating, or use the 3-Minus kit from Geist (leather sealant), which I reviewed here: ua-cam.com/video/YFqRpJhkqJw/v-deo.html
      You also have the option of applying a leather coating from Gyeon, which I had applied to the perforated/ventilated leather seats of my previous BMW M550i in this video: ua-cam.com/video/CuN77nz8Ex8/v-deo.html

      Mild vs strong has nothing to do with the type of car. It has to do with the level of dirt. If your leather isn't really dirty, go for the mild one. If your leather hasn't been properly cleaned since 2018, and/or is super greasy looking and dirty, go for the strong one.

      I order everything online and always add links for Canadians in the description under the video. It’s the only way to get quality products.
      Local stores like Canadian Tire don’t carry professional grade brands like CarPro, Gyeon, Gtechniq, Kamikaze, Optimum, etc.
      Silverwax is “average” at best. There is way better in my opinion. And there isn’t enough interest from my viewers to do a full dedicated review of their products unfortunately. Making videos takes a lot of time and energy, so I usually produce videos my viewers actually want to see.
