I just did this with my 95 yesterday. What I did was lift the hood to relieve stress, but I used two jacks simultaneously per side. One was the jack that comes with the car and I had another just like it. Slowly raising the entire side of the car eliminated the flexing stress that comes from lifting only a quarter of the car. Once raised, I placed sections of 2x12 under each tire for insurance, which I will just drive off when done. I placed the jackstands much like yours. This isn't like any other vehicle I've owned, but once done, I feel confident now in safely raising and lowering the vehicle. Now to get that CAGS solenoid "serviced" and change the trans fluid. Thanks for posting.
I’m glad to hear someone else was as flummoxed as I was trying to lift these things! Yes, when I first bought mine I had no clue and could see someone had already cracked the fiberglass floor pan by lifting with the jack under it. Glad the video helped a bit. I have turned into a pro lifting both sides simultaneously after all these years. It was awkward at first, now it’s pretty pedestrian.
Let me know if it looks the same. It was so hard to learn where to put jack stands when I first got mine.... I figured other folks might have same problem.
Thanks!..I wish I could have used a light and better editing but alas...I did best I could with what I had. A purist can find the meat in the videos and toss out the bone:)

Thank you for this video, I just got a 1990, haven't checked where to lift but I'm hoping it looks about the same.
