What I found supremely useful (especially when shooting something where you can’t see your screen anymore) is using the Camera app in my Apple watch as a viewfinder for the native Camera app on the iPhone. I can even adjust the focus and point of highlight from the apple watch! Its amazing stuff
I am constantly amazed by how much I learn when you post a video. Thank you so much!
Hey Simon, cool video! FYI to save you some time in Premiere just Nest your Warp Stabilizer effect (you can add any effect this way) so you can skip the export/re-import step and also you could simply Modify > Interpret the 60FPS footage to 24FPS instead of using a motion effect and that yields the highest quality too - and you can batch all the HFR clips at one time this way as well. :)
Cheers! I knew there had to be a way 😄
What software is used at 1:18 & 5:45 times stamps in video? Thank you 😊
Thank you - your videos are always informative. Will try these over the weekend.
I have seen quite a few videos that teaches you taking shots like these but this one is the best so far for the effectiveness and the simplicity of the presentation.
Love your works. Never felt more convinced and trustworthier than typical and obvious reviewers.
Thanks!! Great ideas for a film!! Appreciate your help 👍
Really loving these videos! Thank you!

I simply LOVE this video. IT's all a matter of practicing, but your video made me so much more motivated to make those shots and learn. And yes, I bought a monopod because of you. Thanks!
Great to hear!
Fantastic advice, as ever. Thanks.
Simon you are a rock star.👍👍👍👍👍👍 Awesome video. My wife bought me a gimbal for Christmas. Looking at your videos, gives me lots of ideas, on how to shoot videos
You should really make a course, so everything is organized. I would buy it in a heartbeat!
thanks mate gonna help me alot in future
noice! another great video i can learn something from 👍
Great video, as usual! Thank you! Also, I need more practice with my OM4… I tend to make the gimbal binds at certain angle. I will try the side upward movement for sure!
Love the video!!!
Hey awesome as usual...thankyou
Awesome! Thanks. Going back to learn more. Cheers!
Great tips
Excellent!! Thank you for.sharing with us! Your channel is great, fantastic.
great video! thank you for sharing these tips. it will definitely help me!
Amazing tips! I just bought a DJI Osmo SE, the low drone shot is a great tip using the monopod, will tie in well with my drone footage. Thanks 👍🏻
Simply brilliant, taking notes! ❤ - Amy
No need for fancy equipment! Thanks for the tips.
It's so grateful.
Hey ! For last shot, you can slow down the video by Nesting the cropped video. Then Wrap Stabalization can be applied to that nested video in Premier Pro. No need to export seperately.
i DO love your techniques shown here, many thanks! i wanted to love OM 4 but I can't. Switching modes is the main culprit.
Stabilizing the monopod to the ground and moving it is great idea and looks simple. Thanks for showing
Great video. Alley Palley looks great!
Great job!!!!
Nice work mate
so impresive
Bloody ace you are the dude so dam good you make it look so easy I’ve got to get out and start trying it out
Great advice. Thank you.
I love this intro!
Great video. 👌🏾

Worth watching
Great ideas, as always, Si. Can't wait to test the ones I haven't tried yet! :)
That's awesome! I know I keep going on about this combo, but I keep finding new shots you can get lol
This is so helpful 😊 thanks to you sir 🥰
Nice tips!
Cheers Collin! 🙏🙏
You got a radio voice. amazing tips. Cheers.
Great video.. I will definitely try those shots.. thank you for sharing.. i will be digging into more of your videos coz i want to learn more on how can I utilised the gimbal and its features.
Nice! Your channel came up in my feed for the first time. Subbed!
Welcome!
I've always thought of getting a DJI drone but while I've no budget yet, it turns out my OM4 can do the trick!
I love you man
Can you please make more videos like this, on moving shots story telling. this was great, your monopod is not even that long, we can achieve some truly cinematic crane shots. Ordered cheap 67 inch (170cm) amazon basics (just under £16) monopod and cant wait to try these out. I feel as one can have a lot of fun doing what you do, just figuring out the best visual story. enjoying watching your videos a lot

excelente
That monopod placement on the floor with the gimbal is genius!
I know! I wish I hadn't told everyone now
@@SiHorrocks Haha!
Much Appreciated! I have an OM4 and a Manfrotto Monopod that I've barely used since working with Canon EOS M RAW, but your video has inspired me to get back with it. You, Cassius Rayner, and also Steve at Learn Online Video, are on the leading edge of masterful mobile filmmaking! Cheers 🙏🏾
Great to hear 🙏 ❤
@@SiHorrocks 💕 👍 My best to you and Andrea!
One man wrecking crew!👏🤹🏽♀️
i love this channel
Thank you!
Brilliant.
amazing
Perfect
Really nice 👍💞
Hi love your work. I may have missed it but what modes do you normally shoot these shots in? New user here.
Great video. Mahalo!
Brilliant
Thanks bro
This is quite cool! I'd like to try some stuff with my P30 Pro. It's decent I'd say, not the best but I think it lacks a way to attach better wireless audio or other stuff that could help you.
Great video, thanks! One question, I have an smooth 5, what mode do you use or reconend? You are great with gimbals but i don't understand modes yet. Very formative channel! Thanks again :)
Life hack: you don't have to buy monopod if you already have a tripod, open only one leg and use it as monopod!!
Lol.. he uses monopad for its length..
Brilliant tips even if I don't have a gimble (yet haha)!
Loved seeing Ally Pally. For 20 years I was up at the ice rink every morning at 06:00!
amazing Will! Are you still an enthusiastic skater?
@@SiHorrocks Now in China I've retired though I still have my handmade boots!
Very useful video.. could you please confirm in which mode you used for fake drone shot using OM4
Amazing!
Which program do u use to edit your videos?
Nice 👍🏼
Hi there! I'd like to be able to save this to a playlist but that's not an option. Would you please be able to change that?
hi there
great tuto thank you. what are the settings for the gimbal ? tilt locked or follow . this is where I always get confused
thanks from Israel
Love from INDIA🕉️
What setting do you have the gimble on for these shots?
You let all the secrets out ☺️
Yep 😁
how about some nouvelle vague moves, or neo realism moves?
Hi Simon,
Why does the downward movement need to be sideways? Which mode are you using?
Thank you for this video. What is your video editor software or app?
I mostly use Adobe Premiere Pro
Morning simon hope you are well, I wonder if you can help me out, I have the DJI om4 gimbal paired with the iPhone 12, and try as I may I cannot achieve the dolly or zoom shot effect either in or out. I have tried and tried with different objects and distances etc, my video always seems to have a slightly up and down movement but doesn’t appear as clear as the other videos I’ve seen. Perhaps you would consider making a video tutorial solely covering the dolly/zoom in/out video showing how to set up the gimbal and phone etc.
love the channel and have Learnt a lot and am applying it to our own channel. Many thanks

Ich bin begeistert von Deinen Videos, was Gimbal und Mimo anbelangt. Von den Aufnahmen her, bist Du im Raume Andelfingen unterwegs..;-)). Hast Du auch Beschreibungen auf deutsch?

danke! Leider nicht
Simon, I've only just started doing video making and wondered if you could clear something up for me. In this video, you say that you always shoot at 60fps, add it onto a 24fps timeline and then adjust the speed down by 40%. But everything I read says record at 24fps only pushing it up to 60fps to do slow motion. Confused what is best!
I only shoot at 60fps and slow it to 40% for slow motion. But my tip is to shoot all your B roll like this, if you want it to look smoother and more cinematic. Unless you want a different effect for your B roll
