"Hey, wanna make a viral video?" "Sure, what's the plan?" "Let's buy a used mom Jeep off craigslist for $500 and pit it against our Land Cruiser. Say it was a challenge."
Sam Karrenstein Under most circumstances, most models.. I would agree. The orig Cherokee was a good Jeep. The ones that followed through today, as well as other Jeeps are poor quality and a reliability nightmare. Plus the recent model is not at all capable of off road duty. I like these.
'83 FJ60 here. 248k miles. OME 2.5" lift, front/rear lockers, 5.56 gears, 33" BFG KM3s. A well equipped Cherokee can surely follow that LC for the day. Not sure about long range overlanding though. They were just making fun of the poor Jeep guy. Sad to see the damage....but funny.
Its on its second gearbox, and its first engine (with minor repairs). Although, these kilometres are pretty much highway k's, sydney to brisbane and vice versa.
+Trent Nelson it is fun but one shouldn't destroy a daily driver. I killed my Cherokee in 3 months doing stuff like this. Didn't buyh a 4wd for years. I now have an 01 blazer. It wont see the woods till ive driven it into the dirt and its bout worthless. For now its my every day ride.
yep most definatly. Back in the day i bought a 1980 ford bronco for 700. added 300 for 4 31" recap mudders and boom mud truck. beat the snot out of it. it was mechanicaly solid just really rusty body. wouldnt pass inspection. I used to slap mud over the stickers. it met its demise in the woods too. Ran it out of gas. Left it overnight and returned to find it stripped. I had gotten 3 years of hard wheeling out of it at that point and wasnt too much left. I was annoyed but not much. Mainly id had been happy to recoup 300 for scrapping it.

That Cherokee is a hell of a lot tougher than those. The straight six is indestructible. The Cherokee stock is tough as hell. I've rolled mine before and it kept its shape. The beauty of those Cherokees is that you can use and abuse the hell out of them and they still work. Not all jeeps are like this only the old Cherokees
when off roading 3 things matter most. 1. traction 2. wheel base 3. power no matter what you are driving those are the factors that are most important. and its real obvious that the jeep has no traction.
Let me put my xj up against the cruiser. My xj with 4" lift 33" mudders and lockers would be a much better challenge to that modded cruiser. That dude was an idiot for thinking he would stand a chance with a stock xj vs modded cruiser.
Being the not so proud owner of a Grand Cherokee, this is no great surprise. They're not a very good car for anything.....Awkward on roads, useless off road. The only saving grace, is that they're comfortable. Funny video, though.....unless you own a Jeep.
flybyav8tor But, as a standard package, they leave alot to be desired. You could throw 10 grands worth of accessories onto a skateboard, and it'd be a challenger... Mine, as is? I'd never do anything with it that I wasn't absolutely sure I could make it through....and even then, I face a basic mud puddle with a sense of impending doom.....
flybyav8tor Stop..... You're arguing a point with a guy who just happened across a video, by chance, of a car that he owns. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. It was just an opinion. I spent WAYYYYY too much time trudging around in the mud, when I was a Main Battle Tank driver to ever want to go playing in it again. I'd rather play with my nice, clean, sterile road bike these days. Take care.
im not saying you cant, but why would you go on and do that, of course you can turn off everything electronic, in neither for or against newer 4x4's, just comes down to experience and what you do with what you have
The engine in that XJ is amazing and lasts up to 300k miles. Plus its lightweight aluminum. If the jeep had better tires and a small lift like the land cruiser it would be fine. My buddy has a land cruiser and my uncle has an XJ both identical to the ones in the video. The land cruiser has had so many more problems than the XJ. Idk if they have the same motors, just going off of general stock specs for each car.
For sure! I used to have a 1969 Jeepster Commando and all I had was regular Goodyear Suburbanite snow tire retreads. The places I have been on are way steeper and longer than that hill they climbed and mud 8-12" deep. With chains on I could go in 1-1 /2' of snot on logging trails. If that Jeep had even snow tires on he would have done much better.
The land cruiser would do worse if it had bald tires compared to a Jeep with bald tires. Plus this is the sport model jeep which is lower to the ground.
+StreetSweepa383 False. Lets talk about the 50k diesels with 20k in suspension and 24 inch wheels that will never ever see dirt. My XJ's have always been good to me, on road and off. Most Jeep owners I have met at meets are typically decent people that are more than willing to lend a hand. The kids in the brodozers that "roll coal" on everyone and wear far too much Ed Hardy make ALL car scenes look bad.
Malik Martin Malik Martin Wow...do you realize what you sound like? Did you use a thesaurus to compose your lil rant there? In conclusion, you're using that Porsche vs Wrangler video to support your statements? How did you equate that video as a win for the Porsche when it had to bypass half the obstacles the Jeep did effortlessly? You're delusional. So all this money that tire manufacturers like Nitro, BFG, Cooper ect spend on R&D is just a ruse they conjured up, preying on the offroad community's insecurities of being accepted by their peers...because big tires = cool? "No scientific proof" that an aired down tire creates a bigger footprint, which in turn results in better grip and traction...really? You need scientific proof of that? Smh. You obviously haven't tried traversing terrain beyond the pavement of the "real world" with & without oversized tires both aired up and down because had you done so it wouldn't take the figment of one's imagination to differentiate the results and you wouldn't be so quick to deem it redundant and obsolete. As for No automaker producing a truck with oversized wheels straight off the assembly line...you might want to check into that because I can name you a dozen off the top of my head. Maybe you're under the impression that those that wheel and offroad simply slap a set of oversized treads on their vehicle and call it good and are unaware of the ramifications of upsetting the balance and integrity of the vehicle when oversized tires are outfitted onto their trucks. The offroad industry has the biggest aftermarket which is where upgraded suspensions, axels, drive trains ect to withstand the rigors of offroading in order to restore the imbalance that bigger tires triggered. So much so, that automakers are producing them outright with aforementioned upgrades. I do applaud how you went above and beyond to debunk the myth of the oversized tires debacle but once one shifts through all your gratuitous vocabulary, your opinion is still subject to debate
Landcruiser doesn't have stock tires or height. If the jeep was modified the same it would have no problem. The guy is an idiot for making that bet though.
well... the point of putting one vehicle against another is to compare the suspensions, gearing, drive trains, etc. However, the tires are probably the only comparison being made in this video. Tires make such HUGE different off road. If you want to compare the other stuff, you gotta have something comparable.
Not only does the land cruiser obviously have better tires, but it looks like it has a slight lift and biggest of all, it has factory lockers. Toyota FTW!
+James Flores Im not 100% what you tried to say, but what I meant, was, the jeep is at the disadvantage, but even if they had equal modifications, the Toyota would still do better
The Jeep Cherokee is actually one of the most modifiable cars on the market. They are built cheap but if you have the money to fix them up properly with the right equipment they can go anywhere.
That Jeep can out off road any Land Cruiser I saw in the video if it wasn't being severely disadvantaged by bald tires and hick drivers. I say this and I'm not a Jeep guy. I have a Rover.
Hahahaha, you must be joking, land crusiers are some of the best stock wheelers out there, and this ones not exacty stock anymore. While I understand that Cherokee's make good wheelers, and are decent from factory, but they are no where near the realm of a good ole Yota
+rzr kid Wait a sec, lets be honest here. A series 80 cruiser weighs a bit over 5000 pounds, a jeep cherokee is a bit over 3000. Both have solid axles and inline sixes, both have coils in the front. So what makes the and cruiser so much better?
+crashandburnbirner To be honest, I own a 4runner so Im biased, but it has factory lockers and while they both have a straight 6 it is bigger and more power. Even most semi's have straight 6's so I really dont know if that even makes them more similar. But still, the toyotas sit higher and have more flex. And more than anything they have a better approach and departure angle
I would love to have one of the Jeep Cherokees just like the one in this vid.. I would upgrade the crap out of it. Snorkel, new tires, suspension, raise it etc etc
cyc00000 Ok, most of the 80's in the usa didnt come factory with diffs, and the price differance bettween a 80 with lockers vs with out will allow you to put lockers in either the jeep or an unlocked 80. So yeah...
i've got a 5.9L Jeep with some good off road tires and a 3.5 inch lift and i gurantee you it would eat any of your rice burners. I also have a cherokee with a 2 inch spacer kit and lockers. Any cherokee with the right shoes and lift can take any toyota. And that cherokee got stuck because it had no lift, the tires had no tread and the driver didn't know what he was doing. The solid axel on the cherokee is excellent and it has a unibody, which makes it light. In fact, it weighs less than 3500 pounds, making it super maneuverable and quick. I don't mean to be a douche, but when it comes to off roading and you want to compare apples to apples instead of apples to oranges, the jeep is the ultimate off road brand.
Land Cruisers dont need a lift or off Road tires to go anywhere, they can go around anywhere stock. Most used SUV in the Desert in KSA and Hill stations, Mountain range in South Asia.
on board with you I got a 89 Cherokee 4.0 with the inline 6, 3.5 in lift with 38x15.5 tires brand new ,open differential, lockers on all sides, and a hell of a lot more I can crawl mud pull and anything else better than that yota hell I can even pull a 05 ford 6.0 lol jeep are better than people think
ever notice how people that go deep in the jungle and observe animals, volcanoes or pretty much nature is always using a toyota? both cars can be very good depending on money but the land cruiser at stock height is a lot more better offroad and reliability doest go down because of aftermarket lift kits that were not design to go in the truck, now the good old jeeps those are just like the landcruisers, ready to go stock
Are you calling a Toyota a Jeep? Also pretty guy in LC has done this many times and we see his land cruiser is clean as ever, so I'm pretty sure 80 guy washes and rustproofs his chassis for this stuff
To be totally honest driving skills + tyres make most of the difference. I owned 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited 5,2l V8 and after I changed the tyres for proper ones it was a decent offroad car. But Land Cruiser is even better offroader not to mention that it is more economic and better equipped.
This Jeep is powerful but it's not upgraded while Land cruiser is upgraded check the land cruiser tyres and springs and then check the Jeep u will find that Land cruiser is upgraded
This isn't a "Jeep vs Cruiser" video, it is a "Guy with a bad example of an off road capable Jeep challenges a guy with a reasonably modified Land Cruiser that shouldn't seriously expect to win" video.
Ok i happen to own both types of vehicle and if youput a comparable set of tires on jeep and a competent driver and i guarantee it would do better. Toyotas are respectable but they are not all that off road either and cost a shit ton in good shape to purchase and repair. Buy an xj lift it up and throw some tires in it and still come out cheaper. That 4.0 straight 6 is among the most durable engines ever and delivers decent torque and hp. Can deliver more cheaply ad well. The cooling system us wanting but an extra fan is 50bucks. Point is as long as you stay clear of the ones with dana 35 rear axles and dont mind troubleshooting electrics in of opinion its the superior vehicle off road. If both are equally equipped. Just my two cents
@Ryan Flanagan Ive run a Cherokee and my 1985 f250 4x4 and I've gotta say a pickup is definitely plenty capable, the frame flex in a pickup isn't actually harming anything if you take the tailgate off beforehand or do like I'm doing and get a flatbed and it actually helps off road, I'd say the jeeps are overrated for the most part and any more they seem to be turning into "the rich man's toy."
Dana 35 is an easy swap. VERY simple to remove axles. Even a noob can do it. 97 and up Cherokees did not have the Dana 35. And you are right. I also like both of these. But the Cherokee is far better off road and ive never heard of a more reliable engine than the 4.0 AMC I6
My first truck was a yoda. Sr5 6 cylinder pickup. Before they had names. That truck was a beast off-road or in heavy snow. I’d try to find backroads that hadn’t been plowed yet and go off roading on the roads. 2 Feet of snow and the tires would just rooster tail it ! Now I got a F-250 and she’s too heavy to go off-roading. But a good work truck

dude its facelift model its +1997 model
This is obviously a joke given the tires. Looks like everyone was having fun which is what counts!
+clarda1 Indeed this was all about the fun, glad you enjoyed!
+EatSleepDrive So many people around the web don't realize this was never going to challenge the Landcruiser without a lift and bald tires.
+EatSleepDrive I see you TiC sticker...
+EatSleepDrive going from my 2wd 4runner to my 4x4 cherokee this video hurts ahaha I wish I could've gotten a land cruiser!
+EatSleepDrive Yes but TOYOTA is tops!
The jeep did well considering it was stock and had all seasons on it!
Ehhh, my stock '02 forester with all seasons can do better than that. Still wasn't bad though.
Joseph B. Hahahahaha yeah ok
Joker, comparing XJ with fakin 4x4 wagon :D
Joseph B. No it can’t . Subaru is garbage. They blow head gaskets on the regular
Joseph B. Right
I'm sure the challenge was made while they all were drinking. You always have one dude that thinks like this.
This guy gets it.
Definite hold my beer moment.
lol
One dude. Or two. Or three.
Yeah and that crazy idiot also happened to own a jeep. I see a connection
well... he did technically go where ever the land cruiser went...
whether he broke a bunch of shit or not is irrelevant
+Justin Bechtel didn't make it up the last one though..
buggeroff
i was watching this one, and the jeep did ggo to where the toyota went, aside from 2 hills, big woop
+Justin Bechtel So besides half of the given challenges.... A complete failure. Life must be great with a brain like yours. Great as in very painful.
And this isn't even a built yota! Add on a solid front axle like mr. heep, and you've got 5x the capability!
+Philip Gragg Even you don't buy into that Bullshit you typed .
In Nevada, we call this a driveway.
Steve Mattos you mean in Canada
In Russia we call this a highway
Get over yourself mate.
Here where I am at, this is my dirt roads. There is enough pot holes to rival San Francisco.
Steve Mattos have you ever been to Nevada? Dumbass
I mean... I understand it's an old car.. But why you gotta beat the shit out of it like that?
it's an old car and it's fun to wrecklessly drive
WreckLESS? Obviously contact with the embankment didn't count much as a wreck.
If I had an old car I would cherish it knowing they dont make em anymore, like that landcruiser
1985 4RUNNER well some people cherish their cars by taking them out and doing what they do best lol
Cause it's fun
Unmodified jeep vs land cruiser optimized for offroad
Land cruisers come stock with lockers even if he had street tires it would have eaten the jeep
Shut the hell up import lovers jeep is better
When that Toyota hits 500K and the jeep is in a junkyard come back to us
Buddy I got lockers An 37's on my Cherokee An I'd run your little land cruiser over any day😂
When you have to add lockers but the land cruiser comes stock locked front and rear
"Hey, wanna make a viral video?"
"Sure, what's the plan?"
"Let's buy a used mom Jeep off craigslist for $500 and pit it against our Land Cruiser. Say it was a challenge."
This doesn't look like a stupid vlog tho
Used Jeep for $500?
bossfan49. Right. I'll take 2
Jeff Wang la pinche basura de la cruiser tenia llantas to-do terreno. I LA Otra llantas todas Lisas
Eh.. That's easily a 1,200 to 2 grand jeep.
Dad, can I use the Jeep again next weekend?
To be fair, the Yota had much more clearance and better off road tires. To mess up that clean Jeep was pretty dumb.
Yea that's what made the jeep guy a dumbass lol. He was the one who issued the challenge. But props to him for kickin some ass on that trail lol
When you are young and dumb, young and dumb.
djkenny aint no such thing as a clean jeep. Shits trash off the factory floor.
Sam Karrenstein Under most circumstances, most models.. I would agree. The orig Cherokee was a good Jeep. The ones that followed through today, as well as other Jeeps are poor quality and a reliability nightmare. Plus the recent model is not at all capable of off road duty. I like these.

"Is that the hitch?"
"Uh, yea, you're good, you're probably fine."
Kinda sad really. Totally screwed up a pretty good Jeep.
Yeah a Jeep that they bought
i know really, it was a nice jeep. But they abuse it. Those are good jeeps not like the ones they make now days
Oxymoron: when contradictory terms appear in conjunction
e.g. Good Jeep..
Hehe just having a bit of fun.. ;)
+Martin Vaupell I suppose the concept of a "good jeep" could be somewhat subjective; )
pavofan59 yes well, it was what is popular called "a joke" but don't worry yourself to much about it.. :p
people who disliked this video obviously fail to understand these guys were having fun. obviously the jeep driver knew the outcome
I own an '84 FJ60.Toyota Land cruiser it's a tank!
Lucky!!!! They dont make them like that.
'81 HJ60 Here. Agreed. 600,000km on the clock.
Sad to see the damage....but funny.
had an 83 then an 89 FJ62 and they both kicked ass. prefer a manual trans though.
Its on its second gearbox, and its first engine (with minor repairs). Although, these kilometres are pretty much highway k's, sydney to brisbane and vice versa.
Not only the tires but also trying to use 4x2 instead 4x4
I mean, in some parts of the vid
He was on 4x4. He needs lockers to spin all 4s all the time
My cruiser would have done all this in 2. I've done worse in 2.
Just goes to show what good tires can do.
didn't even let any air out.
And lift kits
Why they just don’t use snow chains
Goes to show land cruisers are better than jeeps
@@shakalpb1164 -Snow chains tend to dig more than provide traction in dirt/mud.
As an Aussie... just the title had me in stitches
if i had an 800$ jeep i would be doing the same thing with it.

..and that is why we here in Australia use Land Cruisers and Patrols for this sort of driving. These Asian cars are build tough for rough handling!
i mean, thay used a shitty jeep with shitty tires

4new tires would help also. :]
+swimmer8585 I went jeeping with guys in these really built Cherokees and they completely outmatched the wranglers with the huge lifts and huge tires
Thatcher Sandow Exactly. Cherokees are awesome
jeeps are generally pretty good, but you can't really beat a land cruiser, especially one of the older ones
No you cant
when off roading 3 things matter most.
1. traction

3. power
no matter what you are driving those are the factors that are most important. and its real obvious that the jeep has no traction.

size lift and tires on the Land Cruiser? Looks awesome.
lifeisgood070 looks like 33s and no lift. cause the pic at the beginning of the video is is flexing . mine is stock and sits that high
they dont make the jeeps like this anymore. I would not bashed it
Yeah, the kind that catches fire after getting rear-ended.
anyone can talk shit online...
im pretty sure he means "jeeps like that" as in strong and simple, non of that electronic and expensive to modify drive train.

yeah his tires are shit. with better tires the jeep would've done almost as good
not on the last one though
true!

lol those tires were completely bald, put those on the Land Cruiser and u get the same result
The land cruiser would do worse if it had bald tires compared to a Jeep with bald tires. Plus this is the sport model jeep which is lower to the ground.
no you will not because the land cruiser has factory front and rear lockers unlike the open diff jeep.
+Breland Blazier Depends on the Jeep, some of those had closed lockers.
+Breland Blazier Lockers aren't so impactful that differences between the vehicles, assuming equal tires + lift are equal, could sway it either way.
+Breland Blazier Even with lockers, bald tires = no traction, no traction = no go

I can just imagine the craigslist ad for the XJ.....

i had a 97 jeep the same as this, spent most of the time at the petrol station
I think its 90% driver 10% vehicle in MOST CASES
Obviously the jeep is out classed here
So a good driver in a Prius would show these guys up? This is retarded logic..sorry
The Jeep is smaller and lighter, with food tires it will go more places.
Why didnt he just give up. The difference is clear early on.
To some people, quitting is not a virtue.
Because its a staged video
Yeah, ignorants who can't see the defeat, and arrogants who can't face it. Losing gracefully sure is a virtue.
When the flares and bumper covers came off I cried inside.
You want a real challenge? Swap tires and see who dominates ......
Still the Land Cruiser. But it would be a lot closer.
The land cruiser has giant tires😂

The offroad industry has the biggest aftermarket which is where upgraded suspensions, axels, drive trains ect to withstand the rigors of offroading in order to restore the imbalance that bigger tires triggered. So much so, that automakers are producing them outright with aforementioned upgrades. I do applaud how you went above and beyond to debunk the myth of the oversized tires debacle but once one shifts through all your gratuitous vocabulary, your opinion is still subject to debate
Fat Guy even if the jeep had the same tires the LC will still go more places because they are so heavy they have more traction
Fat Guy and you have a giant beer belly
This is why Toyotas slogan is lets go places
I've been hearing ads say 'the brand you can trust' lately
I hope they didn't change it
Jake Golliher I hope
A bone stock Cherokee on bald street tires vs a lifted Land cruiser with off road tires...
Next time take a Prius 4 wheeling for real entertainment 😂😂😂
ROTFLMBOOOOOOOOOOO AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I WANNA BUY U A 6PACK FOR THAT
It might get farther.
Snake Plisken and a better driver
Lol
A Prius will beat that shitty Jeep
well, cherokees are great, but this guy has it with stock wheels and no modifications, so...
Finally 😂
Good video of having fun with your buddies. Clearly nobody was actually taking the "challenge" seriously. Thanks for posting.
Only in a Jeep. Way to wreck a decent truck.
+A gm (snowman) Wreck it what are you talking about?
+A gm (snowman) lol a SUV aint a truck...its an SUV
+MechRider89 jeep cherokees are trucks because of their axels and wheel bases, but most people call them SUVs. technically they are trucks though
how's a jeep a truck lol. it's a soccer mom suv
+woodman1241 That Jeep is not based on a car drive train like "soccer moms" drive. I believe it's a body on frame instead of a unibody.
The Jeep needed All Terrain tires. Then, it would be fine.
Aaaah NO!!! Just look at the last ditch, it couldent even get one wheel over . . . =P
FunteX Well, the it also needs to be lifted. This is why I love big lifted trucks. (Only GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado though)
Well even if that was done to it, Japanese trucks would still be way better than american brands! I would stick with TOYOTA though . . . ;)
Posting a link to a GM commercial hardly proves anything. Toyota's off road vehicles are way better than anything Detroit makes.
Enver Alam They weren't all commercials.
I pulled my buddies land cruiser out of the mud sideways with an 89 limited Cherokee,
Essentially this was more about tires than the vehicle
Hurts to watch a vehicle nicer than I have ever owned willfully damaged.
Makes no sense.
This is why there are hardly any jeeps in good condition
that was a clean jeep too.. what a waste
Landcruiser doesn't have stock tires or height. If the jeep was modified the same it would have no problem. The guy is an idiot for making that bet though.
Is that person in the 4Runner a random person
1:20 was he giving the middle finger to the guy in the white car?
+MaSn0w yyyyep
+MaSn0w Yep, 4Runner fail.
+EatSleepDrive not a 4Runner
+William Thompson The silver one that is getting flicked off is.
yep
Ive seen jeeps climb over lots of things that a cruiser couldnt. based on wheelbase but climbing that slippery slope is all tires. period
and driver...
And gearing
Not to mention the two have completely different drive systems.
It is all tyres difference . land cruiser has got big and better tyres that made this easy for her.
well... the point of putting one vehicle against another is to compare the suspensions, gearing, drive trains, etc. However, the tires are probably the only comparison being made in this video. Tires make such HUGE different off road. If you want to compare the other stuff, you gotta have something comparable.
Put the same tires on each vehicle and then do the course!
Not only does the land cruiser obviously have better tires, but it looks like it has a slight lift and biggest of all, it has factory lockers. Toyota FTW!
+rzr kid toyota with mud tires and a lift vs stock cherokee and bald tires ftw u mean
+James Flores Im not 100% what you tried to say, but what I meant, was, the jeep is at the disadvantage, but even if they had equal modifications, the Toyota would still do better
rzr kid well u know some cherokees have mechanical lockers so theyre pretty even
+rzr kid Indeed mate
+rzr kid that fried rice would not make it up shit I take my xj
I laughed so hard. Awesome.
+hothothotmale Haha, we did too. Glad you enjoyed!
why is everyone criticizing the video. it a bunch of guy's having fun. I enjoyed this video. Thanks guy's.
Cruiser fan myself; but the Jeep had no traction, and the "friends" gave no sound advice. Shame on them
snow chains if you cant afford tires
The Jeep Cherokee is actually one of the most modifiable cars on the market. They are built cheap but if you have the money to fix them up properly with the right equipment they can go anywhere.
Even this video ment as a joke, but it is also real. Land cruiser is still the king of offroad.
but its not. have you heard of the king of the hammers. one of the classes is taking a jeep and modding it to do the hardest rock trails in the usa
@@xd_gangster693 foreigners think dirt roads is offroading
Yes. A heavy 4-door with a long wheelbase is king of the offroad.
If the jeep was lifted with tires it would be able to but there's no way with that lol
The Cherokee was in great shape, I cried when I saw you wrecked the fender. That car is a classic. Yours only needed tires and a paint job.
+crashandburnbirner its gearing and a fj80 land cruiser is 6000 pounds not 5000 I know my cruisers
The land cruiser has a bigger 24 valve inline 6 with locking difs. Everything else is pretty similar I'm guessing
This video made me want to buy a jeep rather than a land cruiser, seeing how well she did with bald tires and a stock suspension.
5:05 that liberty behind him could probably do better lol
I would love to have one of the Jeep Cherokees just like the one in this vid.. I would upgrade the crap out of it. Snorkel, new tires, suspension, raise it etc etc
get working boyyy their only $600
oh and ya they ain't gunna be around for long tick- tock!
+Alexander Barrera I know haha
+Alexander Barrera but I has a Porsche 944 already lol I gotta fix it up too mate and I want a 79 Volkswagen Golf
Sweet! I have a 944. I'm saving up to buy a ZJ next year. I want the V8.
An un modded jeep is shit off road. Even pretend 4wd's like subaru foresters will leave these things in the dust.
+cyc00000 Right...
+crashandburnbirner open diff's brah
cyc00000 Ok, most of the 80's in the usa didnt come factory with diffs, and the price differance bettween a 80 with lockers vs with out will allow you to put lockers in either the jeep or an unlocked 80. So yeah...
+crashandburnbirner I live in the us and my dad is lucky to have a all round diff cruiser and only 10% of them came that way
***** typical
yank crap in other words.
Never did like the old Cherokee body style
i've got a 5.9L Jeep with some good off road tires and a 3.5 inch lift and i gurantee you it would eat any of your rice burners.
Lol never yet had a jeep outdo my 80series.. 😂😂😂
ever notice how people that go deep in the jungle and observe animals, volcanoes or pretty much nature is always using a toyota? both cars can be very good depending on money but the land cruiser at stock height is a lot more better offroad and reliability doest go down because of aftermarket lift kits that were not design to go in the truck, now the good old jeeps those are just like the landcruisers, ready to go stock
I'll take that challenge hawkboy1792
These guys are having a good time. Love it.
I own 3 TLC’s and they are all BEASTS. They are still running from ‘93 and ‘97. Toyota stole my heart 10 years ago and will always keep it
Stupid challenge... Lifted Land cruiser with Mud tires VS Stock XJ with all season radial tires. :/
The XJ challenged the Land cruiser, and thats kinda the pointv of the video. Plus terrible driving
lol I'd be doing the same shit with that cherokee. Man, I'd probably be thrashing it harder. It's clearly not his daily haha
Not a Jeep owner, but slick tires and no locking differential testing against one with mud or all terrain tires and lockers isn't a fair test .
The dude who drives the Cheerokee sucks so bad
"Hey yo Mick"
Turki Al Qahtani ah Jeep the most recalled cars in australia
Are you calling a Toyota a Jeep? Also pretty guy in LC has done this many times and we see his land cruiser is clean as ever, so I'm pretty sure 80 guy washes and rustproofs his chassis for this stuff
Turki Al Qahtani thats a jeep sport
Thats kind of the point of a jeep...
You can't defy an Old School 4x4 machine!!!
+ZER0GAS mid 90's and up is old school
Should’ve bought a Wrangler. 🇺🇸
"I have the high ground!"
"You underestimate my power."
This is probably the best video I have ever watched!
To be totally honest driving skills + tyres make most of the difference. I owned 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited 5,2l V8 and after I changed the tyres for proper ones it was a decent offroad car. But Land Cruiser is even better offroader not to mention that it is more economic and better equipped.
if the jeep was lifted up more and had better tires on it would go up those spots alot better
That's why you buy a wrangler.
^ He's right you know.
that jeep needs 2 b a full time 4wd vehicle then it would b a great competitor
well we pretty much know he didnt pay for it now.
Three things you need when offroading in terrain like that: Lift, tyres, competent driver. The Cherokee had none of those
This Jeep is powerful but it's not upgraded while Land cruiser is upgraded check the land cruiser tyres and springs and then check the Jeep u will find that Land cruiser is upgraded
No shit dumbass
What a machine right? Ever since I was first introduced to the Jeep Cherokee I just couldnt get enough of them!
@@franciscoverdugo4021 Why do you have to be an asshole? Yeah he stated the obvious but damn man leave the kid alone.
someone has too much money .
Jealous?
This isn't a "Jeep vs Cruiser" video, it is a "Guy with a bad example of an off road capable Jeep challenges a guy with a reasonably modified Land Cruiser that shouldn't seriously expect to win" video.
all I have to say is..dependability! I own a first gen tacoma and tundra for years.only issue was tacoma door handle, hell yes 😎
But a good work truck
if he had better tires I think it might do not half bad.
if i bought a 500 dollar car I would do same thing.
