    • @mikeworkman3593
      @mikeworkman3593 3 роки тому +1

      @@DifRential None of these vehicles in this video have ANY business driving in these conditions. It's obvious that most of them have stock independent suspension(a huge no no for any rock crawler, must have solid axles, dana 60s and 40s with lockers) and most importantly they don't have any kind of multiplier gearbox for low range(should have a secondary 4 to one reduction gear besides the 4 low in the transfer case). See how they're smoking the tires trying to get traction? You should be slowly crawling up these rocks and mounds. Most of them don't have the proper clearance and have too small of a tire without beadlockers.
      They also don't have skid plates or rock sliders. Also they should have ori's.
      I could go on and on but this is good enough.

    • @stevenking2980

      +Steven King Lockers actually put more stress not reduce it.

    • @kylewest100
      @kylewest100 9 років тому +3

      +spydergs07 My 07 Z71 doesn't even have a lock diff available for the front. since everyone is going IFS they really need to make a design that won't break and has strength like solid axles.

    • @spydergs07
      @spydergs07 9 років тому +4

      kylewest100 They have the design to strengthen independent suspension but it adds so much weight to the front end it's not economical enough for daily driver.
      Humvee's have independent suspension front and rear and they are tough as nails but the suspension and drive train weight over 4000 by it's self.
      For a standard daily driver it works but nothing cost and weight effective will replace solid axles.

    • @kylewest100
      @kylewest100 9 років тому

      I would like to do a solid axle swap on my 07 vortec max but I don't want to spend that much since it will never see extreme off road but I'm thinking about buying a short bed single cab z71 that already has solid front and lift it 3 inches and throw 35-40 inch tires on and cut the fenders big time. This would be a trail only truck.

      +Joohyung Lee Shouldn't matter. As long as you aren't competing in a competition or rally, you're covered for off road accidents. I laid mine over the same as that, and was covered by AAMI.

    • @AussieFourWheelers
      @AussieFourWheelers  9 років тому +17

      Nah buddy. It was not on a gazetted road to claim insurance, so the insurance does not apply. It actually cost nothing to repair anyway (thanks to some good connections and negotiations). It would've cost the excess if it went through insurance anyway. The new shell is already on. It's even in a better condition than it was previously. Thank God no one was hurt, that's the most important thing. So all good, and yes, always good times in the bush. As they say, "a bad day in the bush is better than a good day at work". It's true 😆😆😆

    • @Genxr66
      @Genxr66 9 років тому

      I wasn't on a gazetted road either. Must have been lucky then. How hard it is to do a shell swap as I want to do it to my GQ?

    • @AussieFourWheelers
      @AussieFourWheelers  9 років тому

      Not too hard. Takes one day to strip all the interior, wiring looms and everything that's attached to the body in the engine bay and underneath the vehicle. Then another if you want to touch up anything and putting the replacement shell on, then another day to attach everything back to it. Having some sort of a crane helps.

    • @Aerhgad1
      @Aerhgad1 9 років тому

      My insurance covers off road accidents also, when I asked them about it they said unless I was pushing a new track and was sticking to existing ones, even if it wasn't a gazetted road it was covered. I would say it depends on your insurance company though, would need to talk to them about it.

    No one in these comments knows anything about off-roading. You use regular 4x4 cars because it’s possible to afford them, and they literally are built for off-road. None of these cars are stock either. What did you think people buy $1,000,000 Baja trophy trucks to off-road with? This is what’s available and they do a great job. They aren’t soccer mom cars, they were originally built to be capable on and off road

      The yanks with their minimum 6inch lifts are just pointless considering most of there fourbies I have seen on UA-cam are leaf front and rear. With so much lift on a leaf vehicle without proper supporting mods you get the flex of an ironing board!!!

    This is for old mate, who asked if I would watch it and see what I thought. I should send you the video of me getting me Prado and Camp Trailer stuck at the 3rd cutting going onto the beach at Double Island last weekend lmao. The best thing about the floor of a fourbie is you can't sink much further into the sand.
    I don't understand what the issue is with pulling out the winch? Sure it's fun to have a go but at what cost I have to ask?
    To all the people who are going to hate on me for this, I'm no expert but there are some glaringly obvious snafus here.
    The first bloke could have easily done a winch assist instead of breaking his car. First dude in the nIssan, he had a bloody good go...he just got a little side tracked lol. @1:09 It would have been much easier to have moved the frikkin big rock or go around it instead of over it ...doh. @1:35 the car has so much clearance, why would you opt to get yourself on such a tilt when it could have been avoided. Bush pin stripping is like a badge of honour ;). @2:50 wtf was going through his head to plant his foot and steer high right? It can be overused sometimes but...tyre choice and pressure. Ffs 2 in a row same outcome lol. @ 4:00 approx. same Jeep dude from the other compilation (2013 I think)..he's a real wingnut. @9:15ish, wtf is dude saying full lock to the left and then go back for. Ole mate could have easily just gone diagonally over that (continuing to the left), without nearly tipping it. Spectators are such frikkin experts....says me lmao. @10:03 Dude with the Shitsubishi seesaw...frikkin too funny. Next guy in the Prado...should have stayed more to the left, just maybe. Bloke in the water/mud...epic fail. Me personally, I would have stayed to the right hand side more with a bit more speed and then pulled out the winch lol (because I don't have mud tyres lmao). Bloke in the Jeep took it easy and got himself out of the poo nicely. Poor dude with the chainsaw, trying to do the righty and physics got the better of him there (angled downward force). The trick is to cut the top and bottom further up, to create room to flex and then go down the bottom (I did tree lopping for 2.5 years). @13:55...NIssan seesaw...followed by another Nissan seesaw lol. Oh and @ 15:00 ish I think it's a Jeep seesaw.@16:00ish, The poor Nissan needed a snooze. I feel bad for the Nissan owner or any owner who has that happen to their beloved fourbie. It was still driveable afterwards though..thumbs up.

    • @AussieFourWheelers
      @AussieFourWheelers  7 років тому +1

      Thanks once again for your detailed observation and taking the time to comment.
      - The first bloke wanted to try without winch first. He didn't break the car, only the tail shaft.
      - @ 1:09, that's the gate keeper, the point is to have it there and make it harder.
      - @ 1:35, gotta try things first. It just ended up reversing and going straight down the rocks to its left.
      - @ 2:50, it's only the aluminum side steps.
      - @ 4:00, same dude from the beginning of this video.
      - @ 9:15, yes, should've full lock to the left, but the driver kept going right, therefore "go back".
      Everything else is so funny 😂 Thanks. Yeah, the poor Nissan at the end was driveable and was all fixed up nicely shortly after that.
