      This was great, I've been looking for "how to repair motherboard no power" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Giyathan Bewildering Gratification - (just google it ) ? It is a great one off product for discovering how to repair your electronic items like a wizard minus the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 got excellent success with it.

    Wow thank you! I’ve just started learning to solder as I have gotten into pinball machines. I noticed I have a few broken solder joints and everyone said to reflow. I was unsure of the method which lead me here. I also now understand the need for flux.

    what would be the actual downside of a bad soldering? I have one bad soldering I did (it didn't get the shiny look), but the pads arecompromised, so I don't want to risk fixing it... I would guess more resistence is added to the circuit, as it looks more oxidised, but I found no aditional resistence with multimeter...

    • @marios1861

    Which temperatures do you commonly use? And which is the maximum temperature that you recommend not to exceed?

    • @Androkavo
      @Androkavo  6 років тому +2

      For common pcb and electronic components, maximum temperature of soldering iron i used is 400°C
      Lead-free solder 350~400°C, Lead solder 315~400°C (dependent on size of chip, pins, solder pads, trace width, heatsink ability of chip and pcb) . And soldering as fast as possible

    • @SamuelCarreira
      @SamuelCarreira 6 років тому +2

      Androkavo thank you, I never used these high temperatures. Maybe that was the reason that I am getting worst results from my solder station (989d+) compared with my old JCB 30w soldering iron

    Question for anyone who might have an answer: I have some flux-cored solder, would there be any reason why I'm still getting cold-solder joints other than "not enough flux"?

    • @marktaylor8315
      @marktaylor8315 3 роки тому

      It depends on what you are solding, but typically people who have not been trained properly will make the mistake of heating the solder and trying to get it to stick to the work when the proper way is to heat the work and flow the solder onto the hot work. In this video he is actually doing it wrong, and it's costing him a LOT of time.
