Hi, very nice design, congratulations, I think to buy the models soon. In one of the answers you mention that is possible to scale the model (indeed I would prefer to print a larger plane havina a 300x300x400 printing volume), but what about the housing of the servos and the others "fixed size" components? Any idea? Thanks!!
Hell dear, thank you for your interest! You can scale all our models by scaling the nozzle at the same ratio. For example, you can scale the model 1.5 using 0,6 mm nozzle. With the same way you can scale up or down. Motor mount hase slot holes which you probably will not have a problem with it. But you will have to make a servo mount plate with a wood sheet or metal sheet by hand. I think this is not a difficult issue to solve.

@@WernerBeroux Thank you for your suggestions, CF tube is the most rigid and light material to use as a rod in the models. You don't have to paste glue on all rods long to place it strong. It's enough to paste a little glue on the wing-fuselage connection point so you can replace the rod and use it again and again. Hello friend, I need to know about your experience with the orca fpv model. I need to know if you have to fly your plane called an elevator? where is your center of gravity? because in my case, I have to fly it called, and if I turn off the engine, it comes down. landing has to go at speed, otherwise you crash it. If you can give me information I would appreciate it. photos etc
Bastian, I have landed with Orca 7 times for flight videos and its still alive without any damage… There is a marked point under the wing for center of gravity Orca flies fast accourding to you electronics. If you use bigger props, it will fly slower more. I used 5” prop to get max speed. If you can print with LW PLA, Orca will be half weight according to regular PLA and will fly extra slower. I love fly fast with Orca becouse of it’s never lost control at the high speed. If you have open area to landing, there is no problem for it. That’s all my thoughs…
Just because an electric prop is noisey doesn't mean anything is wrong. Not sure where you've got that from, sure if it's closer to the trailing edge or vert it will make more noise but if you're pushing enough power through it there will be noise. I've got a twin with 1900kv motors spinning 6x6 on 6s it'll do 160mph+ on the flat and I've hit 247mph out of a dive. It's loud. Flies great though as do many other of my fast wings / planes.
There is a service hatch for servos which is printed together with wing_1. If you need to replace the servo, you can cut that its tiny connections on servo hatch and take it from the wing. You can then tape it the hatch to its slot after the servo replaced. Sorry for the missing information in PDF but It was included in Orca V1 as well.
Discovered your designs from anther channel. Noticed you have a V1 and V2. What’s the logic behind the smaller control surfaces of the V2? Less flutter effect at speed? Will V3 have retracts? 😊 Phil
Phill, V1 was so agressive on the roll authority and we had to use servos for 45% rate. That's why I made the V2 is half aileron. I am still using full rate of servo movement and everyting is perfect. Orca wants to fly fast and its no longer loses control at high speeds and is unaffected by windy weather. I haven't get enough request about that but its so simple to make full aileron version for some of the different usage purpose. I am thinking to share full aileron wing version as addon product for free in the near future. I am still working on our new model CraycleCub to publish it :D
It's just 25 hours for printing time and 1-2 hours for building. It's quite an easy job for such a complexly shaped model like Orca V2. With the Printed Kits, it's just a simple gluing job using only the CA glue. You don't need any tool or any model-building experience to build this model. So even kids also can make a model with a perfect shape at home. I don't think that it is but if you think that the Balsa models are single-use, 3D Printed models are also single-use. Consider this, complex foam models are also the same, they are single-use too since you can't laminate them. Foam models are lighter, but all our models are compatible with LW-PLA which is lighter than foam. You can print the entire model with TPU and make it unbreakable. TPU is not an easy-to-print material so we are working on a better one to make the 3D-printed models better than old, ugly, incompatible, unupdatable, hard to build with various tools and glues models in the market. You have to buy ready to fly models are deal with building the model weeks. Frankly, there is no model kit without any prior assembly, consisting only of materials and plans. All are delivered to you either cut or largely assmebled in details. Most ready-made models are disassembled, but even though you produce the 3D Printed models we have developed from the zero, using the raw materials, their assembly does not exceed 2 hours. In most cases you don't even need to paint, you just print the pieces in different colors. When the better 3D Printer material is released for the RC Models, all our models will be ready and optimized for mass production and will be ready for you to fly with 3D Printed models :D This will be possible with the customer support at the moment with their purchases.
