I watched a ton of your movies, listened to your advices and although I rarely race, my riding style has improved a lot. I like your closing point best, Jeff, and this all reminds me of the huge disconnect between BMX riding and BMX racing in the '70s. Like from '72 to late '74 we lived in Pacifica, fun place to ride with friends for hours. Then, for kicks in '79 when I was working in radio in Vallejo, AM station KNBA the Mighty 1190, I competed in several BMX races in the Novice Class at age 19/20 and talk about culture shock, competitors didn't really chat with each other and if you got knocked over in a berm, O well, down you go, not their concern. And then there were parents railing against their kids for losing and that was truly heartbreaking, nothing good could ever come from that. And so now, with these crits, sure, I see the same racing deal, people taking them and themselves way too seriously and leaving the fun and community for someone else to find. And so we have gravel and I am pleased about that. I always was enamored with big off-road races like the Baja 1000. :)
Legion doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Postal. Might as well compare some local garage band to a band who sold out arenas around the world. Legion are basically nobodies.
I’m a teacher and teach for a living because I believe in the path. Teach. Guide. Educate. Inform. Expose. When it comes to cycling, it’s mostly a hobby and I have to say it, NorCal did soooooo much more than Legion ever did when it comes to guiding and promoting the sport. At least that’s from my point of view. Argument: Have Legion ever did a video like “How To Ride Your First Crit” on UA-cam or something? Not that I am aware of or at least have access to. That’s another form of “gatekeeping” which NorCal Cycling doesn’t do. The only time they ‘educate’ is when they lost a race telling other people to hold their line or something which is more like whining than anything else. 😅 I am with NorCal on this one.
100% agree on all of what you pointed out Jeff. I support what you are doing and you have a lot of respect from all of your fans. Keep up the great content! See you at Alviso!
I didn't know about crit racing before I found NorCal Cycling. I just happened to find one of your video series comparing aero wheels when I was contemplating upgrading my stock wheels. Especially on your channel. Keep up the awesome content and welcoming approach you take to the sport. It truly is bringing new people into the sport. ;)

Dedicate yourselves more to the sport Legion, and learn some humility, you'll go further I promise you. Great work like always Jeff!!

How to respond to a bully. Well done. You showed intelligence, calmness and humility.
Because of you I wanna start racing!!
Keep the hard work Jeff!!
Getting some serious Lance Armstrong/Postal vibes off of legion
Williams posts on social media game the vibes of that picture of lance staring at his wall with the yellow jerseys.
Don't please, Lance talked shit to the best, Legion shits on dentists on crits 😂
Legion doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Postal. Might as well compare some local garage band to a band who sold out arenas around the world. Legion are basically nobodies.
At least they were pros
Good job keeping it classy, Jeff. There are a lot of big egos in this sport. I always appreciate your humble and friendly demeanor. Keep it up.
I am with NorCal on this one.
Those few wheel test/review videos let me to your crit racing discussions, EJ's "Couch to Crit" series and now I'm hooked. Not sure I will ever race, but I love learning about and watching the sport. Especially on your channel. Keep up the awesome content and welcoming approach you take to the sport. It truly is bringing new people into the sport. ;)
Jeff, I follow your content from Kenya, Africa. I have learnt a lot ever since i subbed to this channel. Keeo doing what you do Jeff, you're changing lives outside California.
“Ego over inclusion” should be Legion’s motto. Keep up the great work and keep speaking the truth Jeff.
You are a force for good, and I have much respect for you speaking your mind. Thank you for all you do!
It’s about to go down! #teamJeff
Legion loves to dish it out, and have that, if you're not with us your against us mentality. But the moment they receive constructive criticism they get all defensive. The two Willams brother have mad talent and are experts in crit races, here in the US! No one is saying otherwise.. but let's be gentlemen and civilized in this beautiful sport of ours. Dedicate yourselves more to the sport Legion, and learn some humility, you'll go further I promise you. Great work like always Jeff!!
"Go Pro's will be rolling, haha"
"But for real though...I'll have footage if you try to harm me"
We’re with you Jeff, keep going!
Keep on going Jeff, you're a very positive force to the sport and I've learned so much from you. I also believe some guys at Legion's are a little cocky, it happens when you win so much and then adore your own image.
Norcal for the win!
After seeing their fighting skills I don’t think you have much to worry about Jeff !
I respect how you address this stuff head on, class act. I hope you all can squash it
Can’t believe those few comments blew up so much. Keep up the good work Jeff!
Williams is an entertainer who makes music videos with race footage. You’re an educator who entertains us with race footage. Carry on.
Thank you Jeff! Sad to see the way that a lot of things have gone down recently. Used to be a big Legion fan, big Justin fan, but this is really disappointing.
We’ve all got your back, Jeff!
Spoken like a true professional. I hope Legion steps up and matches the energy
Seems like the other teams need to step up tho yeah 🤔
Can't expect class from ghetto mentality people
@@blaquaman1739 You literally say that you just support all black athletes regardless and say stuff like ´here first´. Identitarian, useful idiot.
Stay away from Europe.
You’re the man Jeff! NorCal Cycling rules!
Awesome video Jeff. Way to take the high road.
I look up to legion. Still do when it comes to talent but maybe I'm not sure about their character anymore. Ive always been a supporter of you Jeff and in behalf of Filipinos we are with you!
I love this and I’m here for this
Kudos to Rapha and Specialized for enabling a narcissist
A lot of smack talk from a guy that was suspended 5 months for fighting people after a race (Justin). Glad you did the Nero show podcast Jeff, loved hearing your insights, was a great listen. Unfortunate you have to defend yourself after the fact here.
Keep on doing what you do Jeff! Because it’s so good!!
This was really embarrassing lol, glad you are addressing it
I’ve learned so much from your videos Jeff, you are so eloquent and well spoken, thats why people love your content!!
On the other hand L39ION and its members, everybody who has raced with them know what they do and what they are, and how they talk and treat people , specifically some brothers, except for Eder !!😅
Great response Jeff, I always appreciate your honesty and openness, "Inclusion"
Thanks!
Keep it up Jeff! Been watching your videos well before I even had a bike, and they continue to influence how I ride and the love we all share for the sport.
Classy move Jeff! Love the videos and have learned more about race craft and group riding safety more then any other person on youtube. Keep up the great work!
Very well spoken Jeff ... You are pure class!
You are absolutly right! Legion here in europe would finish last in every Race, they win against amateurs
So they are the best in North America and have to leave the continent to find adequate competition?
@@geraldtone5914 yes, if they raced against ineos, or even a second tier european team they would finish last
@@geraldtone5914 in the us there is no real competition
@@geraldtone5914 there is no road scene in the US. Just gravel. Legión is the only multi million dollar team sponsor by the biggest brands to bring inclusion to the sport.
@João Almeida I'm rooting for you in the Giro!!! 😂😁🇵🇹👍🏻
Well done brother. I watch your channel all the time and I’ve taken notices from it.
Love your channel and your content Jeff. You guys make me want to try Crit racing, and that's all that matters. PS: EJ you're a beast, keep your positive attitude, it's contagious!
Pure class. Cheers to you, Jeff.
Meanwhile in Italy
Pogacar- "Who the fuck is Justin Williams?"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Im sure this is the same reaction for 80% of the peloton.
exactly..id love to see these crit guys go into one stage of a big race...humble pie anyone???
Literally no one knows these dudes in Europe. Seriously.
And if they do, not in a good way. Ego-driven social media and identitarian DiVerSitY doesnt work here. ESPECIALLY not in sports.
At legion we promote diversity and inclusion...as long as you agree with (1) the way we race (2) only pros are allowed to comment on racing analysis b/c we know best (3) you never mention anything about us not paying out racers when we're brand promoters.
who is you
@J Nicely said!
Undercover legion member 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Acknowledge that crits are a contact sport”
His Cat 3 comment, I think was directed right at EJ. Which is even more uncalled for.
Give EJ 2 more years and Justin will have to watch his back.
💪
I've been a Legion fan always, idolized them. I've learned more about cycling racing from Jeff (NorCal) than any other "pro" cyclist or media anywhere. He's a cycling personality with a following, he gives great value to the community and good example for young people.
Complete opposite attitude from Justin, immature and childish, drama, etc.. opposite from what their thing is all about.
Be a positive FORCE for good LEGION!
JEFF- Thanks for bringing this to light for those of us that don't have instagram accounts - you have no need to apologize when what you are saying is your opinion is, the fact they don't like it and feel the need to attack you on social media shows their maturity level - I have not been a fan of L39ION for a few years now after seeing how they race, treat others & this keep reaffirming my decision - but unlike you I will say - L39ION IS BAD FOR THE SPORT, nothing they do is about promoting the sport, they only promote themselves & I wish the sponsors like SRAM, RAPHA, SPECIALIZED, ZWIFT & COMPETITIVE CYCLISTS would take note & drop them. Keep doing what your doing Jeff !!!
You do You. And I have so much respect for what you have done for the community
Keep doing what you're doing. Thank you
Great comment Jeff! Very humble and educational, seriously there is hundreds of pro's that can beat that Legion guy with just one leg in a sprint...and I have met so many idiots that think they are so good and racing for the TDF...but fortunately also very good people like you that are more relaxed about the sport. Please just take it easy, it's just a sport....
Jeff you are the man. Keep it up, appreciate you making the sport more accessible. Educating those of us who enjoy your channel.
Always!
