Wow. , GREAT video boys ! Seen a lot of sails but was very interested in all of the variables in sail making . Cruising , coastal etc . All of the math I forgot from school . Measure Twice , Cuss once . Finished product , Good Stuff ! 👍😎
They make a nice sail. The sails that came with my Allied 36 are Bohndell sails. My 1987 vintage main is still usable because I now sail with just the genoa and mizzen. That sail does need some restitching on the leech. That said I am thinking of buying a new main, but I have some other big decisions to make first that will impact the main design/build. I might give them a call, even though I have been very happy with the mail order sails (genoa and mizzen) I am now using. I bought new both a new genoa and mizzen last fall so a new main would complete the set.
Interesting video. Not that I'll probably ever need new sails 'cause my 14 ft. jon boat doesn't need them, but it was interesting nonetheless. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Interesting! -- QUESTION -- Just getting my first used sailboat and not too familiar with a "reef" although I know its purpose. So I guess that it is more than simply a hole in a sail since it costs more to have a reef. But what goes into making one? Is it lots of stuff I guess?
Hello! Great question. It’s a number of reef points along the horizontal line of the sail, which requires measurements and sewing. So basically it adds time to the process. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Very cool, as a craftsman and contractor new to sailing, I'm really enjoying the exposure to rigging and sailmaking. Love it, thanks guys
Thanks Patrick! Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Wow! that was so so cool! This old sailing girl learned something new!
So glad to hear it! We learned new things, too. A lot of fun.
Thanks Robin. It's difficult being on camera, but you did a great job.
Robin was aces. She was great to work with! Thanks for watching!

Great job with the camera. Shooting all that white isn’t easy. Loving this series. Running rigging next?
Thank you! It was not easy. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
You guys are the spiritual successor to Captain Q. Thanks for all you do
We appreciate that sentiment. Those two were the best.

I couldn't keep my eyes off the Caledonia yawl to starboard.
I was intrigued by her, too. Pretty lines - in need to love.
She gets a calculator? I had to use pencil and paper, then a slide rule. How many of you modern math whiz's could do that? LOL
I reckon very few! We have AI to do everything for us now…
Great show!
