    You consistently produce engaging, high quality videos, and this one is one of my favorites. Thank you for doing all this work so we can experience Tokyo through your eyes. I would be a pauper for sure if I went to that show. That bring said, I will be checking Shigure Inks (one of my favorite retailers) and Jet Pens for some of these papers. And I plan to watch this video three or four more times! I'm also eager to see your video on the Drillog pen. It looks amazing.

    • @InkyRocks

      Thank you so much for your very kind comment. Sometimes doing these longer complicated videos (this one had over 200 clips) is a real slog but feedback like yours makes it worthwhile. I make videos on what I'm interested in so there is no set "theme"--just what I enjoy! The Drillog will be in the video after next and it's really neat!

    Oh my goodness, another GREAT video! I will watch this 3-4 more times and set in my mind that I want to go to this show in 2021. The trip to the show reminds me of taking BART from the Colma Station to San Francisco. I was happy to see I need not hope to buy that gorgeous Chrysanthemum 3776 - a little pricey! 😂 I want some printed vellum, an Ink Log, Yamamoto Paper Cosmo Note, and anything Bungakan Kobayashi! Now I need to see if I can find Tag Stationery somewhere. Thanks so much, Alesa. My absolute favorite UA-cam videos are your show and shop videos. Happy Holidays!

And Happy Holidays to you too!

    Thanks for a very interesting video. How lucky you were to be able to have a pen show. Here in London, where I live, the October pen show was cancelled due to COVID but I am hoping that the spring pen show will happen.
    The range of inks was particularly interesting- including the SKB from Taiwan. I still have two from a visit to Taipei, one of which is a fabulous "Coffee" colour ink, which has gorgeous dark red hues.

    Thanks for this tour of the pen show! I enjoy hearing about how the show is set up and seeing the unique products, especially the Drillog dip pens and and the ink books. I think Drillog should manufacture their nibs so that you could use a 3776 or a Pro Gear Slim /1911 or some other popular pen as the nib holder. I don't know if that would provide much of a cost savings or if it's even practical, but it seems cool.

    One of these days, a pen show to physically visit is in order. It's just not now anytime soon.
    This also made me realize that while I'm pretty stacked right now, being around other stationery people is probably a want/ need to fill somehow.

    I think you might have linked our store website instead of Yamamoto Paper's website, which is either www.yama-kami.com/ or yamamotopaper.shop/. Also, the I think the inks at 28:32 might be Lennon Tool Bar instead of iPaper. Those Shokido books look amazing!

    Oh how I love your videos - as you know, I'm especially fond of the ones that show life in Tokyo. I'm struck by how empty it feels in this video. Is it always like this, or is it due to COVID, or the fact that you may be filming during non-rush hours? For whatever reason, I've always pictured Tokyo as a busy, bustling city with people shoulder to shoulder! Fantastic job of covering the pen show! So many "wants!"

    • @InkyRocks
      @InkyRocks  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for your kind comment! It is partly the Covid thing, partly that I went out during a non-rush hour time to film and partly because they limited the number of people. Tokyo is pretty crowded except for certain places on the weekend (every one is at home in the suburbs) and especially around New Year's Day--it is so empty then!

    I've been on that monorail, between Haneda airport and the other end (Hamamatsucho). Anyway, I've been wanting to ask someone in Japan about some face masks I've seen a lot on Japanese TV, they are sort of half-masks that hang off the ears, rest between mouth and chin, and curve up to just above the nose. Are those in common use in real life? They look like they wouldn't do anything at all to protect the wearer, and very little to protect other people.
