They say that 12” have a good throw compared to a 15” where as the 15” give a good low end but the throw ain’t as good as 15” so if u use a 12” u need a sub woofer which will be a great combo having a better detail correct me if I’m wrong
J B you are correct! It's 75 Degrees Coverage per the QSC handbook. www.qsc.com/live-sound/products/loudspeakers/powered-loudspeakers/k2-series-new/k122/
I just purchased one of these and the mids and highs are crisp and loud buttt you def need a sub. Im using two yorkvilles ls700p and its sound fantastic.
Lol one thing he was right about is yes you do need a sub specially if you are looking for that deep bass below 36hz Bass hits different notes and not all subs can do that so make sure you get a quality sub dont just check the specs test it out yourself Pair it up with QSC subs even one will do and you will have one amazing system.
it depends on what you want to use it for. It's plenty good for background music or microphone amplification. In a smaller room, up to about 50 people are fine without a sub. if you want techno for 50-150 people, you need two subs. that's all
The original K speakers have more bass than the K.2’s. If anything, they absolutely need a sub. If you are a performer, get the originals. If you DJ and use a sub, get the k.2’s for the improved clarity.
Michael Cadena I’ve tried all settings. I own 2 evolve 50s. Love them but very diff beasts. Two evolves are more powerful than these in my opinion. But these with a sub will prolly take the evolves
How many subs does a sound system need... one more. Laugh. Of course you need a sub. However what is so impressive is you had to think about it. Like it was that good. For a home stereo you could go with out a sub but if your charging money. Get a sub. I bought one sub for our club. Liked it so much got a second. Liked it so much got four 12.2 s one for each corner. The subs are so crazy amazing when i turned the other carvin subs off i could hardly tell. This product is beautiful and insane. Come see one of our las vegas style burlesque shows in st louis.
You need a sub if the driver doesn’t go down to that frequency range. Which it doesn’t. So you need a sub. What they mean is, could you get away with having a decent powerful standalone speaker for 90% of party applications... answer is probably yes. Depends how much you want to travel light and how little you care about providing full range sound.
Serious note, What i don't understand is how you can plug your phone into an 1/8in jack and expect high fidelity? I knew when i bought mine that to properly test the unit i needed a much more pure source, vinyl, controller, cdj or audio-interface through at least 1/4 if not XLR or speakon. How are you not educated on the products you sell? This is why my local guitar center lets me down.
Never allow anyone at guitar center and especially this dude to recommend music to you. Good grief. And what kinda dance moves were those. The bass line hadn't even kicked in yet and you were trying to move.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was thinking the EXACT same thing ! He ain't no DJ. Song suggestions : Lil Wayne 6 ft 7 ft Bass Boosted Eminem Lose yourself Bass Boosted Ape Drum Deva ft. Suku Those songs would'a definitely gave your ear drums A Good WorkOut ! Now OBVIOUSLY, I'm A D.J. 🎧
Been using K2.12 For a Year without a Sub I Play alot of Hip Hop and Yes YOU NEED A SUBWOOFER These K2's alone will not be Sufficient 313 Until I D-I-E
Isaac, thanks for the video. Use this as a teachable moment for you and your co-workers who participated in this video. Please search out product training for everything you talk about. If this is your job, get serious and understand what your selling. You have subscribers! LORD HELP US ALL. I'm glad the world is going to end in 11 years. Hopefully it happens sooner so we can put this all behind us.
When you're mixing electronic music, or hip hop, you need subs - period. Anyone telling you that you don't need a sub for a party other than a wedding or any sort of small venue is either lying or misinformed. Never any standalone speaker will do, even a 2x15". For serious events, you need at *least* one 18" sub per head (preferably a 15" one), two 18" per head is better. If you're on exterior, you need to mutliply like crazy. Be sure to have at least a 2" diaphragm for your tweeter if you're playing in exterior. For a real sound with electronic / hip hop, the minimum is 4 powerful (12" or 15") heads with two 18" subs each - that's 8x 18". Not to discourage young first buyers - by all means, buy yourself a pair of heads and you can already gig small events with it and stack up later.
Don't trust the Guitar Center dudes - they're just trying to sell you a sub. If you have the extra $ a sub is nice. If not - just change the setting to No Sub Monitor 2 or Dance or you can manual adjust the EQ. If you set it right - a pair of these with give you plenty of bass for a 100 people event.
radiovoice1968 QSC is prolly some of the most dependable speakers on the market my friend. So I say yes. But if the digital goes out the speaker don't work. QSC has a crazy good warranty though and I have yet to see one fail.
Im glad these guys aren’t at my GC lol. Even qsc felt the need to respond to this video 😩😂 Anyway what’s that second song you played? I liked that funky beat.
You can’t win. If the comment was ‘you DON’T need a sub with these’ the comments section would be calling you a salesman. You tell it like it is and honestly say ‘yeah get a sub for a full sound’ and you still get called a salesman lol 🤦♂️
you also forgot to say ....you just can't buy one K12.2 always buy in pairs ...no real tester really tests one speaker and any DJ that DJ's with one speaker and or with one sub and one top is NOT a real DJ!!
William Giraud I agree with regards to the sound distribution, but bruh these things are $$$. back in the day when I got my k12s I had to buy one by one with sweat blood and tears lol worth it tho 👍🏻
Ive used one top and one sub at a small private party once and it was plenty of coverage. Are you seriously another one of those douches who says the real DJ BS based solely off your opinion?
I disagree with that one sub bullshit it’s plenty of situations where you don’t need two subs especially if you have a good one and definitely if it’s an 18 fuck two subs just for the sake of having two subs dumbshit!
William Giraud I’ve dj clubs using 1 jbl prx715 and prx718xlf and had the staff tell me to turn it down I was rattling the building. And that’s running every thing at 12 o’clock. Real dj’s make comments that reflect their experience no need to load out more equipment than needed to do the job.
What a horrible review, QSC K12.2 is the same as the old one with the same wattage power, 2000 Watts peak and 1000 Watts RMS QSC is trying to play the game of the low end sound companies, trying to sell the total peak power
Settings that really Kicks is "Stage monitor 2"...This speaker really Rocks in this setting - "No Sub" Default and Dance comes no where near it
“Let’s try more of a hip hoppy tune.” *plays Toxic by Brittney Spears*
His song selection didn't do K12.2 any type of justice ! NONE !
Because Dem Boyz BANG !
Did you guys think about this before producing this or did you just jump in the deep end and hope you could swim?
Depends on the venue for a sub. Most DJs wont need it with these, but the salesmen in u 2 is pushing for that sub 🤣🤣
They say that 12” have a good throw compared to a 15” where as the 15” give a good low end but the throw ain’t as good as 15” so if u use a 12” u need a sub woofer which will be a great combo having a better detail correct me if I’m wrong
75% More Coverage - Might want to read it again. 75 degrees of coverage....
J B lol I don't need to read I heard them with my own ears and used them didn't read about them or watch a video 👍
J B you are correct! It's 75 Degrees Coverage per the QSC handbook. www.qsc.com/live-sound/products/loudspeakers/powered-loudspeakers/k2-series-new/k122/
Huh? 75 degrees?
@@tourinojacks5844 It is 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Because QSC is a USA company. So about 24 degrees Celsius if that helps. ;)
@@uk7769 😂😂😂 That's the angle of audio coverage in degrees, has nothing to do with temperature....

Yesssssss..........Very Nice I'll Buy Two ...
I hear the DJ's put in Dance Mode with submode on. Wondering how a pair of these would stack up against a pair of EV Evolve 50's. What do you think?

Lol 😂
It's obvious, you do need a sub. 1 sub will do for now just waiting for the new KS212C which will be a available in October.

Ricardo Odracir the whole point was NOT to look up info. I wanted to just give you my impression. Go outside and try doing something with your life
Did you change the settings in the back to "no sub?"
Aolaolagi messed with all the settings man :)

Kieffer Lucas I agree 100 percent!
There's any Bluetooth attachment
I just bought them.. you need a subwoofer...end of story

Do you trust the digital interface longevity? If it goes, is the speaker operable?
radiovoice1968 QSC is prolly some of the most dependable speakers on the market my friend. So I say yes. But if the digital goes out the speaker don't work. QSC has a crazy good warranty though and I have yet to see one fail.
Ok one last question Isaac. I'm 3/4 time mobile dj 1/4 time musician and if you had to choose.....K12.2 vs DSR 112??
radiovoice1968 I would buy the QSC when your ready to purchase I'll give you a coupon price on whatever you decide if your in the states
Isaac Turner What would be coupon price for a couple of these?
radiovoice1968 20 percent off whole purchase if you buy from me
I freaking love your short hair. Damn HOT Issac.
You need a drive rack to eq it, whole other monster...
Songs please ?

I own them and yes you need a sub. That's just dumb! depending on the gig or show.
What if I was running a karaoke show?
@@bullspite You won't need a sub for karaoke.
There’s different setting in the cab no sub
Also, Settings that really Kick is Stage monitor 2...This speaker really Rocks in this setting - No Sub
Clowns. Go ahead and buy gear at Guitar Center if you have no other choice, but don’t ask anyone working there any questions.
Alexandro Path
Guitar center is a supply shop with almost zero knowledge of their supplies. Do your research before you enter!
He tested one speaker. Funny guy. He dances divinely, though.
second song name:?

2000 watts!? More like 350 watts if that! All Qsc Fan boys are falling for the 2000 watts! Lol! Qsc = Harsh at high volumes! Try and you will hear it!
Oh yea. I want to watch dude dance, however he made up my mind. I will never be in a GC again.
hola una prueba con una salsa a ver q tal suena con música latina gracias
Tu crees que con la puta musica latina que existe hoy se va a oir mejor
con estas bosinas??? estas bien buey!
Piensa antes de dar tu opinion.
What a horrible review, QSC K12.2 is the same as the old one with the same wattage power, 2000 Watts peak and 1000 Watts RMS

def not hip hop
Worst video or test ever! Congrats!
