Perfect, I subbed. I've got some old pt 2x4s I saved from fence....we need a small bench out back to watch our dog run around and chase squirrels. thanks, from panhandle of Florida.
That is amazing, I have to large pieces of live edge oak the I want to make in to a pair of benches but I couldn't decide on a design for the legs, now I do, I must ask though how did you fix the the seat down, I hope you read your messages as I wood ( ha ha excuse the pun ) really like to use the same technique. Regards Martin.
Good job. I don’t think I’ve seen the up right pieces for a bench like that, made from glued up wood together but, glue is strong and I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Curious how that will hold up. Not talking junk at all, I swear. Just a new idea to me. I’d have assumed solid pieces would have been the go to.
Yeah it was a random idea I had that would be a lot easier to a novice diyer to be able to do. A lot of people seem to think that it’s not a good idea. But the actual weight is still in the side pieces not the added spacer. I gave it to a friend after I made it, and so far I havnt heard anything about it breaking. 👍🏼
@@gerberdesignco hey man, like I said, if you know anything about woodworking, then you know that a lot of times the glued up joint is stronger than the physical wood itself. There’s a lot of evidence to prove that. So when I’m looking at this, although it seems a little bit unconventional, I can’t really tell you why it’s not gonna work. Good idea my friend.
@@gerberdesignco absolutely bro. At the end of the day, it’s pretty obvious that you know what you’re doing. So, hats off. Don’t pay any attention to the hate. Waste of time.

Even the simplicity is fantastic...basic, no embellishments....very nice
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Nice design…..
But that ain’t 2x4’s. 🤣
It sure is 🤗
Yes it is. Need to look closer.
Yes it is, it's just so damn smooth it dont look it

@@pauljarrell8162 100% I appreciate that. I usually do ignore the trolls. But sometimes it’s fun to mess with them a little. lol
Класс!!! Не скамейка, а просто шедевр!!!
Wow! Thanks!
2x4s Those legs aren't and neither is the cross brace and the top would have been easier in 2x6
The top is 2x4s 💁♂️
The legs are also
Not one two by four was used in the construction of this video, excellent bench that I can see being built for under $25 tho
They are all 2x4’s my friend 🤘🏻
Like its simplicity. But nearly didn`t watch it as the heading is misleading .... as in where are the 2x4`s?? Other wise ingenious by simplicity!
Thank you for checking it out! I have a video on my channel building it. There is only one piece that’s not a 2x4
Looks good 👍🏻
Thank you!
Niiiiice. ❤❤ Make one for me!!!
Commissions are always welcome on my website 👍🏻🫡
What were the tools required for this project? Can it be done with circular saw and orbital sander?
Yeah it could, might just take some extra work.
Great design!! I’ll follow
Thank you! 🤘🏻
Im right behind you
I don’t see a single 2x4. Nice job sticking them together!
Thank you! Nothing better than a clean joint 🤌🏼
Chefs kiss 👌
🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
No 2x4s were harmed in this video
I ethically take care of my wood
WOW! THAT IS SO COOL!😎
Thank you! 🤘🏻
Awesome!!!! Nice !!!!!!!😃 😃😃
Thanks! 😃
I need to shop at your lumber yard. My 2x4s are like 1.5x3.3
I think that’s just what size all of them are.
LUMBER $25, LABOR $250
Probably accurate
How are the legs made? Don't look like 2x4
There is a full build video on my channel, they are 2x4s 🤘🏻
Where are the 2x4s ?
It’s all 2x4s
Those two sides/legs are made from 2x4s? They look like plywood.
They sure are! No plywood to be found

I don’t even know what to say to this
I will now roam the house with a "deer in headlights" stare while contemplating how low my IQ is😂
Be safe out there
Do you have any walkthrough or plans of how you made this?
There should be a full length video on my channel. 🤘🏼
What thickness of wood plank for the top? 😊
It’s a 2x4 so about 1.5 ish
but I prefer the conventional version
That’s cool. Just wanted to share an alternative way to try some joinery.
Is this a good first workbench
Yeah totally
Damn how did you get a plainer and a joiner for only 25 bucks?
Craig’s list
Slight side motion when sitting down and it will fail
Nope
@@gerberdesignco then do it.
@@Druain already done
@@gerberdesignco then show it
Just like the moon landing, the video was lost
How do you plan to attach the top of the bench??
I used figure 8 fasteners to attach the top on this.
Dude's using everything except 2x4s
Except that’s all I’m using
How is the top attached?
Figure 8 fasteners 🤘🏻
Top D +
🤓
Do you have plans for this anywhere
No I don’t I’m sorry. Just the build video
Funny looking 2x4s.
Not really
@gerberdesignco Really? Look a lot like 2x6s for most of it.
Very nice. How many 2x4s?
I think I made it with 5.
That's awesome. I wanna build the same one.
@@TheRealGOTdurrrred you totally should! I have a full length video on my page of it too. 🤙🏼 Tag me if you do so I can see!
@@gerberdesignco will do!
I can’t find anywhere on your channel
Did you see it?
No
How long it took?
A few hours and then letting the glue dry! Not too bad
While using very expensive equipment
It only takes 10k to make a $25 bench
Exact measurements please. Thanks
I think it was 48”x12”x15”
@@gerberdesignco thank you
Next time will say solid Mahogany piano bench 😅?!?!?
That’s weird
Japanese style woodworking? Meaning of the traditional construction do not include nails
Totally
I don’t see any 2x4 s !!!???
😅😅😅
They were there my friend
those are not 2x4 tho 👎
Yes they are 👍🏻
GOOD FOR TABLE.. NOT BENCH
It’s a great bench, why would it not be?
Really counting on those top joints to hold lol
And they do 🤙🏼
