You can still use 10' boards. If you have a scrap piece of 4x4 and 2x6, cut them to the width you want, secure the 4x4, centered to the top of the 2x6, and install it cross way in the center. Then cut the 10' 2x4s in half. The 4x4 will take up the extra 3.5 inches, and break up the top of the table, and the 2x6 will give you a ledger to secure the 5 foot sections to in the middle of the table. Done and done.
