Met him in 2016 at the Rev Room in Little Rock Arkansas. Told him I was a huge fan. He said thanks man and shook my hand. He was so nice. He was just walking around the crowd, watching the opening bands play. I've been privileged to see Crowbar twice and it's always a good show. You are a strange person. I told you they are my favorite band, so obviously I'm not underrating them. However, Sepultura gets billing over them. That's based on album and merch sales. WOW!! Watching/listening to this interview was really cool for myself because Kirk’s youth & how he got into music & how he learned on guitar & what not was pretty much %100 the same as myself with learning by ear except i was learning on bass guitar with my 4&5-string bass guitar & i remember trying to learn songs & i’m from the no internet era as a kid & young teenager & learning songs for myself was with my little ghetto blaster that had two tape decks & there was a lot of stop… rewind… pause… see if i got it correct lol & then fast forward to another piece & do the same thing all over again lol, but looking back as frustrating as it was to learn by ear like that was an incredible talent to have as i later found out instead of learning to read sheet music in which i did try to learn after learning by ear for years as I thought learning to read sheet music would be a huge asset to learn as well + being able to learn by ear but that didn’t last long as i got frustrated with it & just settled on learning by ear or by watching someone playing it. & normally people join or form a cover band to start out with which is a good thing to do obviously but i was to impatient to learn songs as well as my two other buddies who i would jam with & then finally my other buddy joined who was a drummer & instead of us doing the cover band thing we started to write our own music in which turned out to be a good thing as we practiced & practiced until gaining enough confidence to play at our high school talent show where we played 3 of our own songs & 1 cover song which was by the Canadian rock band called,”54•40” & the song is called,”crossing a canyon” which was only 1 of 3 cover songs we ever did. Anyways enough blabbering from me lol & listening to Kirk here like i said really hit home with me as Kirk learned pretty much the same way i did & Kirk is roughly 10yrs older than me so we pretty much grew up on the same kind of music etc. Kids nowadays have it much easier with learning songs with UA-cam & many other options such as paying a guitar, drum or vocal etc teacher on line & learn over the internet by a web camera. I use UA-cam all the time to learn songs or practice methods. Kirk is also one badass dude & a very down to earth guy just like my favourite band(s) which is “Carnivore” & “Type O Negative” which i know Kirk is a big fan of both bands & it's so cool that Kirk has the green “Type O Negative” tattoo logo on the top of his left hand \m/

My explorer looks just like his. Wine red with gold hardware. Except mine has gold top hat knobs and his has black speed knobs. Pretty cool.

I would love to jam covers with him. Me playing bass or drums. Especially Black Diamond by KISS.
    That would be so awesome

Kirk is a much better player than this would suggest. He's a killer. Maybe just a little off here. Matt Pike's episode was the same. He is a crushingly good player but was super shaky on his. The low budget practice amp does not service tho these either.
